I love that it was in space - away from civilians. They Did the thing - Man of Steel #19!The Flashback of Lois in her signature Purple with the vest is almost too much for me to handleSo a tiny shard of Kryptonite in Clark’s neck doesn’t hurt him?Gretchen Kelley is luthor’s personal physician, but here it isn’t her real name - “No one can hide from Luthor.” Wasn’t she also Lex Luthor II’s fake mother?Luthor sitting down with the kids scared the crap out of me and just when I thought he couldn’t scare me any more he slammed on the table and WHOAWhat did you think of Luthor’s bushy flashback look? I kinda liked it!What did you think about the whole source of the plot is that Lois screwed up, and screwed up big? I have a problem with it. To me Lois is infallible when it comes to journalism. Are there other times when she was just flat out wrong and it cost someone their life? I love Sam Lane being a guy who has 9 lives. I feel like he has more depth as a character than he ever had in the comics, with exception of around Krisis of Krimson Kryptonite when Lois’ mom was dying, and he accepted Clark etc. Sam said, “Luthor tried to kill him for years and failed” but does the timing work out? Seems like Luthor would’ve gone to jail right around Superman’s debut? The timeline is still fuzzy to me. Superman’s last stand when he emerges from the asteroid was an appropriate use of angry red eyes of anger. While I appreciate we needed Doomsday to take superman’s heart to have a plot for the next episode and because Lex said it early on, I don’t like that Superman didn’t die saving everyone. That should be the thing. Paying the ultimate sacrifice. Doomsday just straight up beat him. Don’t like that.“Milton,” “Brainiac going to his head…”The last few moments were really hard to watch. The combination of Lois’ horror with all the flashback moments was a lot. This is ACTING. I got to say to Bitsie in person last year that she was robbed of an Emmy nom. And She agreed lol. EPISODE 2 - A World Without - “Powers beat Psycho Everytime” Greetings Super friends! Welcome to Superman & Lois & Pals. I’m Henry Bernstein and alongside me is my favorite super pal, Professor Sam Brody.  Let’s talk about Superman & Lois Season 4, Episode 2 - A World Without Directed by: Sudz Sutherland Written By: Katie Aldrin and Kristi Korzek The Apple TV and Imdb description is:  Lana and Sarah join the fight against Luthor, who starts making moves in Smallville; Jordan and Jonathan butt heads over an important decision. Very sweet of Lana to get everyone away but “Superman is Lois’ friend, her GOOD friend” was just sooooo cheesy.That must’ve been painful for Lana as she knew and loved Clark first, I wish it had been a better moment. First time around I missed that Lara put Clark in a sort of suspended animation. In previous iterations of the Death including the comics he wasn’t really dead. He just needed time to regenerate. In this case he doesn’t have a HEART. So he’s legit dead right? “An alter state of existence.” At first I thought it was the phantom zone but it’s how Kal-El made it to earth in his pod.Lana going after Luthor makes sense. She is the mayor Smallville, he’s in her town now. Also if you remember in the early Byrne era, Lana took a literal beating from Luthor’s goons in Superman #2, as mentioned previously. She had a rough go of it in the comics until she married Pete Ross.An Ocean’s 11 type one last score does not seem to fit with the prize being Superman’s FUCKING HEART. I dunno, it’s so gruesome. Obviously Lex figured out that Jordan has powers. Even though he didn’t figure out Clark was Superman, something about Jordan’s disguise seemed so obvious. The idea that he never figured out Clark’s secret because of his hubris/arrogance makes sense to me. I’m sorry but this plan to go on a two-front heart stealing with Sarah distracing is just silly. I get that the first episode had heavy emotion so they needed an action plot but it was sillyJordan standing up against the Kryptonite was cool but I wish there was some nuance where because he’s half-human Kryptonite doesn’t affect him as much and that he could fight against itCan’t believe Luthor squashed Superman’s heart. Like how are they going to get out of this one? I love that we don’t know. Jor-El Clark. I like it. Does this mean Clark’s the fortress guy for the next couple episodes? With only 10 episodes are they really going to not have Superman in the show for more than like one more? Make TV Turn Up Brightness Again!“Can you ever truly explain how much a person meant to you?” The opening montage with Lois’ monologue is almost too much to handle. They are really laying it on thick. Is that a funeral? Did they bury him or are they just talking in front of a tree?I don’t understand the conversation Sam is having with the other DOD agent. Is she a superior? Or is he ordering her around?Oooh flashback! Omg I loooooove that Clark is awkwardly telling Sam the secret lol. “Superman - I’m me, we’re the same person” Haha the slo mo glasses reveal. I have to say, he does look and seem different! Very reminiscent of Reeve in that famous scene from STM in Lois’ apt!Great seeing John Henry and Nat!What a scoop for the Smallville Gazette!I actually really like that Jonathan is mad at Jordan and needs some space. This is real brother shit. Especially with twins. “You were never trying to save dad, you were trying to be a hero and now he’s dad, my dad is dead and I never get to see him again.” This was great acting. JONATHAN HAS POWERS!!! FUCK YES!!!!“Can’t believe he’s flying already” - me too Lois, me too. They call freeze breath, “ice breath,” what do you think about that?Lois calls this bad timing, but I think it’s GREAT timing. The more stable brother got powers. Let’s fucking go.They are doing a great job with keeping Tyler in the mix with these flashbacks. “We don’t get to sign up for the friends and family program.” This is great showing us these conversations between Sam and Clark because we’ve earned these flashbacks from what we went through with Sam in the first season and then seeing him come around and then now seeing that version of him again, seems like a familiar reminder.What’s Doomsday eating? Lex: “The difference is I like him” That’s messed up lolWow I love Jonathan cutting up fruit and smelling it! I don’t think I’ve ever thought about that particular power being intense for Superman. “Your father hated limburger cheese”Do you feel it’s realistic that Jordan still plays video games? I feel like if I had powers I would fly to every place in the world I’ve always wanted to see. Instead of a racing game I would actually race. “G’afternoon Superboy” lolOhhhh F, Lois chose Jonathan. Damn. Didn’t see that coming. All this backdoor politics in the DOD is boring to me. MARTHA!!!!!!! “Clark you’re gonna be a great husband and a terrific father” Love that she has the signature bun tooLois: “don’t you ever say that to me again, EVER. “Lex Luthor is using you to hurt me”Who is “Jones?!” J’onn J’onez?jesust how many times is Sam Lane going to almost die. Super-Sam let’s GO! Did NOT see this coming. “Suit up John.” Oh yeah they’re both suiting up! Double STEEL. Lois in a Wedding Dress! She looks beautiful, I’m crying. “You fell in love with Clark Kent but you’re marrying Superman.” “Ok Pumpkin, I trust you. But I see how much you love him….you have my blessing.” That actually is a huge revelation that they got the blessing.You called Superman with a human heart!!!!Great character arc for Sam Lane. I love that he got to be the hero saving Lois, the kids and Superman. “He’s gonna come back, I’ll be there too for every beat”Ah so the funeral was for Sam, not Superman. Nice twist. What was the significance of the matching shirts the boys were wearing? Update - the shirts were gifts from Sam for their fishing trip. Let’s talk about Superman & Lois Season 4, Episode 4 - A Perfectly Good Wedding Directed by: Gregory Smith Written By: George Kitson and Max Kronick The Apple TV and Imdb description is:  The Kents struggle to adjust to their new normal; Lois helps throw Kyle and Chrissy an impromptu wedding that doesn't go as planned. HENRY'S EPISODE NOTES:This should be called “A Perfectly Fine Episode”Lol to the caption saying, “Somber music.” No shit, S&L.Wait this wasn’t a dream? He’s really back like that?“A Second chance to do more, to be better. And make the most of the time we have on this planet”So Clark has been back for 3 weeks? Nice to see Kyle and Chrissy, but I dunno. I don’t care about them anymore now that we have 6 episodes left.Haha Jonathan made a Star Wars reference and Clark loved it, “12 Parsecs.” Amazing that he’s so good at flying. Holy shit he just busted right through. This is really fun. I love that their training consists of Movie references. And again I gotta hand it to the effects crew. This show has consistently not looked like a cartoon.“All right rookie, settle down.” - Clark after Jonathan busts Clark for crashing going Mach 5.I’m glad that they’re continuing the thread of Jordan being upset about Lois choosing Jonathan. That’s a reason to be pissed. Good of Jon to call out Jordan on that stuff too. “Just following your example superboy”Lois: Do you want to talk about….for starters you died. Clark: Everything feels different. Amazing that they can share not feeling secure in their bodies. I love them so much. “What matters is that you’re here with me now.” Clark can get drunk! Cheryl Campbell: “Your dad is one of the good ones”Jordan still thinking that Clark and Sam died because of him“I don’t have a suit!”- Jon, “You’ve got a hoodie” - Jordan lolWhoa who’s that fire guy?Is Superman’s new suit even darker???Dance sequence. Lots of cute shots of Lois and Clark. That’s all I care about. Breaking news Superman Returns Superman Lives!This episode was a lot of filler and I honestly think they rushed him back. Confirmed? “Let’s go get the keg.”Ok wait, now the local folks know Clark is Superman. Oh for fucks sake. Why are the writers doing this with 5 episodes left?Superman appealing to Lex as a father is so on brand. Why is Candice back?Pretty cool that Elizabeth Henstridge directed and guest starred in the episode. I didn’t watch Agents of Shield. Was she a big deal? In another life she would’ve made a good Lois Lane. Ooooh Kryptonian tech so Lara can see the fight. Kryptonia VR, I told you they had video games in the Fortress!Jon is kinda dressed like Marty. Also this side story with Candice is b******t and a waste of time. A kid in their class knows Clark is Supermanbut they’re not pursuing that?The Lex flashbacks were really good. Very much like lex luthor the unauthorized biography - 1989The balls on Lois Lane to face off with Doomsday. I love it, that’s the Lois Lane I know and love. I dunno, I know this was supposed to seem intense but it was just silly to me and it made me laugh.Luthor confirms he has an endgame as he gazes on the GazetteFun that Jon is doing the superhero thing and I like that mom and dad finally told Jordan to get a jobSalt and Pepper patch in his hair (Love that) - it’s funny because Tyloer has a lot of gray in his beard and it looks awesome. Do you think this is a Superman thing or a regular middle aged vanity thing? Interesting that he’s concerned about Superman going gray when every comic book reader knows he looks great with some grayLuthor vs Gretchen is a great face offFunny that Jon has the Wally West eating thing. Especially because traditionally Superman doesn’t need to eat. Ok so now the coach knows the secret and it’s played for comedy? But “Aidy” knows too. They’re definitely going for the “town knows and is protecting him” thing. Lois and Clark don’t even seem that concerned.I’m starting to come around on it because of the way the town is reacting to Luthor.Lana going toe to toe with Luthor is A+I take exception to Sara calling Luthor a “bald headed loser” as if those two things were connected. To quote Larry David, “that’s a hate crime, we’re a group.”Sara wants to go abroad in high school? I mean not unheard of but seems odd. Nice Varsity Blues referenceLana getting beat up by Luthor is spot on. Love that Sarah f****d Otis up with a baseball bat. Good idea Kyle putting bats under beds.Clark vs Lex, let’s go. Lex grabbed a red sun inhibitor. Good idea. Unhinged Tyler is new and I love seeing this range from him. Let’s go Clark. Beat his ass. Who taught Clark how to fight?! I’m sorry that was a really cool fight scene. I don’t like it. It’s awkward.Jimmy! And his sister? I like that Jimmy asked to be “pals” of course. And great reference to the “Daily Star.” But he called him “CK”Haha, “Timmy.” Where did this guy come from? Is he from last season?“You’ve ruined my life kent” - really? This show has everything. Clark Kent playing baseball with Jimmy Olson. It’s all I ever wanted and I’m so sad it’s over. Timmy Ryan is the dumbest name“Candice knows” - “YOU TOLD YOUR GIRLFRIEND!” lol“Cut your dad some slack”“We need the bunt king” - What do we think of this Jimmy? So Jimmy figured out the secret. Ok fine. So what do we think about in this universe Clark is just either very bad at keeping the secret OR everyone is not dumbNice of Clark and Lois to buy Chrissy out and IDC“Did I get knocked up by the town bully?”Nice of Kyle to raise a toast to the Kents etc but he didn’t actually apologize to ClarkI like the mirroring of the last time Candice’s dad got f****d up in the diner by Clark.Very interesting way for Superman to reveal himself to the world. Great revealMilton reference again. “After today the whole world will be on your side” with a Luthor smileSo the DOD hangs out at his house which is different than usual?So now Clark doesn’t wear the glasses and I miss it!Cancer call back. “They are a little sweaty”This is really good. Not just pretending this story never happened. THis is what really happens in families dealing with Cancer.YAY!!! Lois is Cancer free. BAZOOMBAS is back!Why haven’t Nat and John Henry cleaned up their bunker?Yes! Steel covering for Superman. That’s how it’s supposed to go! I love seeing Steel not just blast things but actually rescue someone. TOM CAVANAGH IS G GORDON GODFREY!!!!!!This is amazing. My absolute favorite guy. This is great that Luthor is going on tv and spinning/lying. This is so classic. I love this. Oh my god, even spinning why he brought Lexcorp to Smallville. Clark is right trying to get Lois not take the bait. I like that he had a solution and not just a don’t do it. “Let’s go to the office”“Now that everybody knows I can fly”Candice broke up with Jonathan and my reaction was “haha good.”While I don’t care that much about Candice, the reason she broke up with Jonathan makes sense. But I definitely don’t care about a rom-com last second confession of love“I’m the Costanza of relationships”So Amanda is in love with Lex. There’s precedence for unrequited love with Lex. I’m dying to know who MILTON is. At this point they won’t stop talking about Milton. “Feels like we’re working in a fishbowl”What do you think about Lois’ thing being not only the spelling thing but she swears in her writing?“We flew here together”  Interesting that Clark is losing his hearing.Do you think the series will end with Clark losing all his powers, being a regular guy and the boys taking over?Oh that’s really interesting that he has heart disease. Clark now has basically what Lois had last season.Is Luthor just absolutely disgusted with humanity? Or does he have some heightened senses or something? His spidey sense is tingling.Do Lois and Amanda have history?Love hearing Tom Cavanagh say, “Superman, Superman”I love that he did the glasses bit. Lois is on defense, this is a set up duh. “I think the circumstances speak for themselves”Why are they obsessed with Jaimie Kennedy the mid-2000s comedian who maybe also had a prank show?“It’s being a carnival barker”Brainiac time baby. Now we’re getting into the endgame. Will we get the full blown version? It’s kind of weird that we’ve never seen this guy before and now he’s an ultimate mastermind. This is an amazing action sequence. Love the heat vision from both sides. That was nutsSuperman keeps his wedding ring on now. Nice touch. Confirmed and canonical in this show that the ONLY way they got news about Superman was from Lois?Damn, Godfrey just made an enemy in Lois Lane. Sexy LexyLex Luthor ISN’T a computer genius“Mr. Gorman from our world” - That’s a GUS GORMAN reference from Superman III. God I love this show.So Superman, is “terminal.”Great shot of the family together at the tableIf Milton is going to be taken seriously, we’ve gotta get some back story and motivation.“Now that’s a killer suit” - they better paint it green and purple otherwise what’s the point.Is Superman dying or is it that his powers are failing? HENRY'S NOTES: Should we approach this on its own or AS a penultimate series episode or both? Kinda sad that Otis died off screen, like for the actor and characterI like that there are consequences to Clark thinking he went over the line “stooping to Luthor’s level”“I do not need your help with this” is the wrong thing to say to your kid at any age. It’s better that the consequences for Lois is that she can’t get advertisers, not her safety.“Maybe it’s time we got into his headTyler Hoechlin merch! Finally!
