This week Liz takes us into the bizarre world of the Fresno Nightcrawler, a strange cryptid caught on surveillance footage that somehow looks both ridiculous and deeply unsettling at the same time. Are the Fresno Nightcrawlers elaborate hoaxes, paranormal beings, or just… walking pants? We discuss the sightings, the internet fascination, and why this weird little cryptid refuses to go away. Then Danielle covers the tragic murder of Eridania Rodriguez, a hardworking cleaning staff member whose life was taken while working inside a Manhattan skyscraper. Danielle explores the investigation, the shocking circumstances surrounding the case, and the larger conversation about the vulnerability of cleaning crew workers behind closed doors.

This week we’re joined by our friend Liz as she takes us into the eerie legend of the Flatwoods Monster. A bizarre, glowing 10-foot-tall figure spotted in West Virginia in 1952 that still leaves people asking… what was that? From there, we spiral into a wider conversation about alien sightings in the 60s and 70s, including some seriously strange encounters reported right here in New Hampshire. Were these just cases of mass hysteria… or something far more unexplainable? This episode is all about UFOs, cryptids, and the moments that make you question what’s really out there.

In this week's episode Sandra talks about the famous Circus Circus hotel in Las Vegas. Known as one of the cheapest hotel options this hotel has haunted guests since the 1970's. Full of mysterious stories including the famous room 123 that is so haunted, the hotel won't even rent it out to guests anymore.  Danielle explores the extraordinary and heartbreaking story of Oxana Malaya, a girl discovered in 1991 living in a dog kennel in rural Ukraine. Often sensationalized as the “girl raised by dogs,” Oxana’s story is far more complex than the headlines suggest. After experiencing severe neglect at a young age, she survived for years among the family’s dogs, adapting to her surroundings in remarkable ways. Danielle walks through Oxana’s early life, the shocking discovery that brought her story to international attention, and the difficult process of rehabilitation that followed. This episode also examines the broader reality behind so-called “feral children” cases, exploring how early childhood neglect can affect development and what Oxana’s life has looked like in the years since her rescue. In this week's episode Sandra talks about the Hodag. The Hodag is a fearsome creature that resembles a large bull horned carnivore and has been tied to Rhinelander Wisconsin. Listen as Sandra explains how this piece of folklore was also involved in a hoax and how the Hodag has been featured in pop culture like an episode of Scooby Doo and Harry Potter and the Fantastic Beasts.  Danielle takes a deep dive into one of the most infamous and polarizing cases of the 21st century: the murder of Travis Alexander and the trial of Jodi Arias. What began in 2006 as a whirlwind romance between two young, ambitious people quickly evolved into a volatile, on-again, off-again relationship marked by secrecy, jealousy, and emotional intensity. By June 2008, that relationship would end in unimaginable violence inside Travis’s Arizona home. How did this whirlwind romance go from being hot and heavy to toxic and deadly? Not all love stories have happy endings. When infatuation turns into fixation and rejection becomes intolerable, the consequences can be devastating. Listener discretion is advised due to discussion of intimate partner violence. This week on Oy With the Terror, Danielle dives into the shocking rise and fall of Jen Shah, the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star whose lavish lifestyle and vague “marketing empire” were ultimately exposed as part of a massive federal fraud scheme targeting vulnerable victims. From reality TV fame to prison time, Danielle breaks down how the scheme worked, the arrest that stunned Bravo fans, and the consequences that followed. Then, Sandra talks about Southern Vermont College located in Bennington VT. The college was founded in 1926 as St. Joseph Business School. It wasn't until 1974 when it moved to the Edward Hamlin Everett Estate in Bennington VT. Unfortunately the school closed in 2019 and is now being turned into a resort. Although it is no longer a college campus, the land has many different types of hauntings. These stories include a ghostly lady in white, and mysterious happenings in the library. The college was also featured on Ghost Hunters back in 2015. Danielle's Sources: ABC News. (2021). The Housewife & the Shah Shocker [Documentary]. This week on Oy with the Terror, Danielle dives into the chilling and deeply complicated murder of Christa Worthington, a fashion writer whose brutal 2002 death in Truro, Massachusetts, rattled the quiet Cape Cod community and sparked years of controversy, suspicion, and hard questions about policing and justice. From the initial investigation to the later reevaluation of evidence, Danielle walks through the twists and shadows that still linger over the case. Joining the pod this week is our friend Liz, who’s filling in for Sandra and bringing her signature storytelling magic. Liz takes us across the Atlantic to explore Glamis Castle, one of Scotland’s most famously haunted locations, complete with family legends, restless spirits, and centuries of paranormal lore. True crime, ghost stories, historic scandals… this episode has a little bit of everything. Grab your snacks, dim your lights, and let’s get into the terror. This week on Oy With The Terror, Danielle and Sandra are back with an episode that’s equal parts chaotic, cozy, and chilling — the perfect mix for spooky season. 🎃 Danielle kicks things off with some real talk about wellness trends gone wrong (spoiler: Bloom drinks might work a little too well 💩), and the hosts give their takes on the Monster: Ed Gein series on Netflix. Then, the mood takes a darker turn as Danielle covers the mysterious disappearance of Cindy Song, a Penn State student who vanished after a Halloween night out in 2001, a case that remains unsolved and unsettling to this day. To close things out, Sandra talks about a few stories mentioned on the popular Reddit website. From having a story that no one believes to seeing a weird apparition on a college campus. And a fun Would You Rather game is played. Grab your favorite candy, light a candle, and settle in; this episode’s got everything from laughter to lingering goosebumps. This week on Oy with the Terror, Sandra talks about the Screaming Tunnel that is located in the northwest corner of Niagara Falls in Ontario Canada. The tunnel was built in the 1900's and has since been abandoned and no one knows why. Local legend says that there was a girl who was on fire and died in the tunnel. Most people say that her screams can still be heard today if a candle is lit in the tunnel. Then, Danielle dives into the haunting and courageous story of Sallie-Anne Huckstepp, a Sydney sex worker turned whistleblower who dared to expose police corruption and paid the ultimate price. Once known for her connection to the criminal underworld, Sallie-Anne shocked Australia in the 1980s when she publicly accused powerful officers of murder and abuse within the New South Wales Police. Just months later, her body was found floating in Centennial Park, her death a chilling reminder of the risks of speaking truth to power. Danielle unpacks Sallie-Anne’s life, the explosive corruption scandal that rocked Australia, and the lingering questions that still haunt her case decades later. Was justice ever truly served, or was her voice silenced for knowing too much? This week on Oy with the Terror, Danielle dives into the scandalous life of Lola Montez, the 19th-century dancer, courtesan, and femme fatale who reinvented herself into a living legend. From her Irish roots to her fiery “Spider Dance,” Lola seduced some of the most powerful men of her time, including King Ludwig I of Bavaria, whose obsession with her nearly toppled his throne. But Lola wasn’t just about scandal and seduction—she blurred the lines between performance and manipulation, politics and passion, villain and icon. Was she a dangerous con artist, or a woman simply refusing to live by society’s rules? Then, Sandra talks about the legendary Robin Hood. The legend of Robin Hood has been around for centuries. From ballads that were set in the 14 and 15th centuries to today's Robin Hood which is featured in popular movies like Disney's Robin Hood and the notorious Robin Hood Men in Tights. Although there may have been no one actually named Robin Hood, it is believed that other people inspired him.  Danielle's Sources: https://adb.anu.edu.au/biography/montez-lola-4226 https://biologyinsights.com/who-was-laura-montez-the-true-story-of-lola-montez/ https://www.britannica.com/biography/Lola-Montezhttps://chrisenss.com/the-countess-of-landsfeld https://limerickarchives.com/2023/06/07/lola-montez-the-scandalous-dancer-who-toppled-a-king-and-turned-to-philanthropy https://www.theolivepress.es/spain-news/2025/08/09/from-the-archives-jack-gaioni-reveals-the-fascinating-story-of-lola-montez-the-fake-spanish-dirty-dancer-who-captured-a-kings-heart https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lola_Montez Sandra's Sources:   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultural_depictions_of_Robin_Hood.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_Hood.  https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQTlLas6HP9M9gK59smlXYtJBhxfOz_ITnrpJXeSA7L22iy23RT

This week on Oy with the Terror, Danielle takes us back to the glamorous — and grim — world of 1920s Hollywood to explore the mysterious death of film producer Thomas H. Ince. Officially, he died of indigestion. Unofficially? He may have been accidentally shot aboard William Randolph Hearst’s private yacht, in a scandal involving Charlie Chaplin, Marion Davies, and a media empire powerful enough to bury the truth. From suspicious cover-ups to silent witnesses and a yacht party that ended in tragedy, this case has all the makings of a classic noir. This topic inspired the campy, mystery film, The Cat’s Meow, where none other than Richard Gilmore (okay, Edward Herrmann) plays Hearst. Was it a medical emergency… or a murder swept under the red carpet? Then,  Sandra talks about the Elevator Game. The object of the game is to use an elevator and follow very specific instructions to get transported to a different dimension. This game originated in South Korea and even inspired a movie that was released in 2023 by the same name. After listening to the podcast episode the only question to ask is would you play? This week on Oy With the Terror, Danielle dives into one of the most jaw-dropping discoveries in true crime history: the mysterious case of drag icon Dorian Corey and the mummified body found in her closet. From her legendary status in the ballroom scene to the secrets that unraveled after her death, we explore the layers of identity, secrecy, and survival that make this story unforgettable. Then, Sandra takes us deep into the misty Louisiana bayou to meet the Rougarou — a shape-shifting creature from Cajun folklore. The Rougarou is described as having a dog's head and a human being's body. It has been defined similarly to the werewolf. There are different variants of this folklore, but most agree that the point of this legend is to convince children to behave. The Rougarou has also been featured in numerous pop culture, including novels, television, video games, and even a popular roller coaster. Is it just a scary story... or something more? This week on Oy with the Terror, we’re joined by friend of the podcast Liz for a chilling dive into one of America’s most infamous hauntings: The Bell Witch. Nestled in the shadows of early 19th-century Tennessee, the Bell family found themselves at the mercy of an unseen force that tormented their home with whispers, scratches, and full-on spectral rage. Was it a vengeful spirit? A local legend? Or something far stranger? Liz leads us through the eerie tale, breaking down the history, folklore, and freaky details of the case that inspired books, movies, and generations of sleepless nights. And of course, we end with a special Would You Rather: Folklore Edition, where things get witchy, weird, and just a little hilarious. Tune in, lock your doors, and maybe don’t say her name out loud… You never know who’s listening.

When Tamla Horsford attended a football mom sleepover in Forsyth County, Georgia, she expected a night of fun and friendship. Instead, she was found dead the next morning in the backyard—bruised, broken, and with a story that still doesn’t add up. In this episode, Danielle unravels the suspicious circumstances surrounding Tamla’s tragic death, the glaring inconsistencies in the investigation, and the questions that continue to haunt her friends, family, and a growing online community. Was it truly an accident, or was something more sinister at play? Then, Danielle and Sandra dive into a game of “Folklore Would You Rather”—and things get weird fast. From global ghost stories to creepy legends you’ve heard whispered at sleepovers, we make impossible choices, laugh through the fear, and share our folklore faves (and no-gos).

In this chilling installment of Oy with the Terror, we head to Long Island to unearth one of the most haunting true crime cases in recent history: the Gilgo Beach Murders. When the body of Shannan Gilbert was reported missing in 2010, no one could have predicted the horror that would unfold. As authorities searched the desolate stretch of Ocean Parkway, they uncovered the remains of multiple women—most of them young sex workers—buried in burlap, eerily close together. Join us as Danielle delves into the twisted timeline, the victims’ stories, the long-stalled investigation, and the arrest of Rex Heuermann, the alleged Long Island Serial Killer. From mysterious 911 calls to burner phones and bungled police leads, this episode digs into what really happened on that lonely beach—and why so many questions remain unanswered. Then, Sandra talks about the classic American folklore, the Boogeyman. However, there are various other folklore creatures similar to the Boogeyman worldwide. Often described as a shape-shifting entity, the Bogeyman is usually described as having claws or talons and sharp teeth. The Bogeyman is best known for being a tale to tell children to get them to behave because the Bogeyman steals children. In this week's episode Sandra talks about the popular media figure Slenderman. It is well known that Slenderman was created by Erik Knudson on the online forum Something Awful back in 2009. Since then the mythical figure Slenderman has become popular. From being featured in episodes of Law and Order to being a popular video game back in the mid 2000's. Slenderman is described as a tall man with no facial features and his appearance is linked to children's disappearances.  Then, Danielle dives into one of the most chilling and perplexing true crime cases of the digital age: the Slenderman stabbing. Three twelve-year-old girls enter a forest in Waukesha, Wisconsin, under the guise of playing hide-and-seek, when in reality two were planning something much more nefarious. Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier, devout followers of the fictional character, orchestrated an attack on their friend, Payton Leutner to gain favor from Slender Man. Listen to Payton's amazing survivor storing, the controversial legal decisions that impacted the rulings towards Morgan and Anissa, and a recent update from March 2025. Join us as we unravel the eerie intersection of crime, mental health, and online horror culture in this chilling real-life story.
