Living Life Pain Free
2022/06/27
In this episode of The Mamaverse Podcast we are diving into the topic of pain and its relation to our overall health and wellness with pain specialist, Robert Hull. Robert wasn’t always super keyed into his health. His education started when he lost 100 pounds in a year and wanted to inspire others to be able to reclaim their health.  What We Covered: Movement is medicine: There are preventative measures you can take when it comes to experiencing pain in your body It is common for people to have an imbalance of strength, flexibility, and even mobility. A discrepancy greater than 10% can actually cause pain. Sometimes, we seek concrete causes as the root of our pain, and when initial assessments don’t diagnose the pain we turn to MRI or other imaging techniques.  Imaging can be more mentally harmful for people than helpful, especially when the cause of pain is stress related and not tied to a direct injury visible in imaging. The Medical Community might over diagnose the pain seeking a treatment such as surgery to cure the pain, when noninvasive exercise, flexibility training, and stress reduction can make a major impact
Discovering The Link Between Your Gut and Hormones
2022/06/20
Welcome Sheree Beaumont to The Mamaverse Podcast! Sheree started her wellness journey when she was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition at just 22 months old! Later in life, Sheree experienced burnout attending university and working full time. She was exhausted and couldn’t get a handle on her health and wellness. To find answers, Sheree began exploring holistic and functional medicine What We Covered: Women struggle the most when it comes to hormones and gut health. Many women are unaware of the effects stress has on our body, how stress drives burnout. Moms are trying to do it all between careers and raising a family, and living in a constant state of stress.  Exercise is a form of stress, but a good stress. Inflammatory foods: Gluten, Caffeine, Dairy, and Sugar. These inflammatory foods cause stress on your body. We are in an Obesity crisis: Gluten concentration has increased by 4 times. One slice of toast now actually equals 4 slices of toast. When added up, this can cause a massive inflammation response in the body.  Gut health is connected with hormones: All disease begins in the gut. Sit down with your child and teach them to chew their food until it is liquified. Women of reproductive age should not be practicing intermittent fasting. Fasting research was done on men If you don’t feed your body, it produces more cortisol, holds on to extra weight, and dysregulates your hormonal cycle because your body thinks it’s starving Stay in touch! Empowering Femme
2022/06/13
This episode is beautiful and one you won’t want to miss Mama! Adriana is a spiritual empowerment coach focusing on empowering femme through self discovery and self care. She wants us all as mothers to be able to find the voice within. In order to do this, we must go inwards and rediscover ourselves, our power, and our light. Adriana explains that through this inner work, we can bring all of our gifts out into the world.  What We Covered: How to use tools like meditation, astrology, moon cycle, chakra alignment, and human design to gain more understanding about yourself to become more attuned and empowered with your life decisions. Learning what your energy source is, can help inform what type of job and relationship you can be in. Start with your Self, your wisdom. All of the answers are within you, you just need to quiet the mind to access them. Learning how to become aware of how situations make you feel, and how each relates to your chakra alignment.  Be in your power so outside factors don’t knock you off your center. This transforms you from being reactionary to situations, to being more in control of yourself. It gives you the ability to stand in your power. We are an expression of the universe.  The first step a mom can take towards spirituality is to start with her breath.  A mom’s challenge is making time for themselves. You can’t pour from an empty cup.
Achieving An Optimum Lifestyle Through Nutrition
2022/06/10
We cannot wait for you to hear this episode. Get ready for this one, Bethany is a highly dynamic and internationally known certified, holistic nutritional consultant. Bethany’s focus is to guide busy moms to their optimum lives through nutrition.  What We Covered: Holistic means looking at the full body mind, body, and spirit. Eating and food habits are oftentimes picked up from childhood and learned from parents. Holistic nutrition approach unpacks the stories around food which oftentimes stem from safety, scarcity, worthiness. It can take months or years to unpack and rewire thinking about food and eating. Kids naturally eat intuitively because they do not have emotions attached to eating and food. They will eat until they are full and they will generally eat a more balanced diet even when sweets, and snacks are offered. They know what they want and like. Holistic nutrition for your family starts with parents and moms. We need to give permission to moms to take care of themselves and do what they need so they can be their best for their family. Avoids burnout and resentment.
The Impact of Investing in Your Physical Wellness
2022/06/09
We’re back with another episode of The Mamaverse Podcast! In this episode of the podcast, we cover being bullied, raised by a single mom, and the impact of physical wellness can have on someone. Paul Antonelli shares his personal story of finding confidence in himself through physical fitness. Together we dive into how important it is to model physical fitness and wellness to inspire these for our children.  What We Covered: Paul started working at 15 and was able to start training as a martial arts student. We’ll explain the difference between exercise physiology and personal trainers.  Exercise physiologists require a four year degree from an accredited university, passing an exam from the American College of Sports Medicine accreditation, and then it requires continuing education yearly.  With this certification, Paul maintains an advanced scope of practice, and areas where he is required to hand off the work or the client to someone with different training. Be intentional by carving out time for yourself whether it's a hobby, fitness, or just meditating. Women tend to seek more educational information, ask questions, and take feedback more productively when it comes to training and coaching. Women are generally more in tune with their physical bodies and wellness than male counterparts.  The five leading causes of death over 45 are obesity related
Healing Chronic Conditions
2022/06/08
Welcome back to The Mamaverse Podcast. This episode is packed with helpful information on holistic wellbeing and self-healing. We’re thrilled to introduce you to Khristee Rich in our third episode. Khristee shares with us her personal story of self-healing chronic disease through nutrition after being sick for nearly 15 years. You’ll hear her holistic journey to wellness which combines nutrition with acupuncture, and meditation. What We Covered: Discovering the root cause of illness can be a challenging and confusing first step for many women on their journey to wellness. Where do you go once you know the diagnosis? Doctors often treat the problem, but they don’t understand its root cause. Khristee talks about the importance of the whole health history from when symptoms began. How stress levels, diet, and lifestyle are impacting your health and overall wellness. Illness starts emotionally. Khristee dives into the importance of emotional wellness as an aspect of your overall physical wellness. If you haven’t resolved and healed trauma, it goes into the body and manifests as disease. Khristee incorporates shamanism, chakra healing, and reiki healing into her wellness practice and works to balance the body, mind, and spirit.  Be curious about your body, and see how it connects with how you feel.
Why It’s Never Too Late for Pelvic Floor Fitness
2022/06/07
Today we speak to Dr. Becky Allen about Pelvic Floor Health. Listen in to learn why it’s never too late to work on your pelvic floor, the benefits you can gain by doing so, and more! Dr. Becky is located in the Dallas Fort Worth area and impacts moms of all ages with her practice. We love her approach to pelvic floor therapy because Dr. Becky focuses on the whole woman, not just a dysfunction or injury.  What We Covered: It’s never too late for Pelvic Floor Therapy. You can still  benefit from therapy again later in life. If you’ve recently delivered, this time can have the biggest impact.  Yes, this therapy can restore functions to prevent or remedy incontinence. Also helps improve abdominal strength and fitness. Your frequent bathroom trips are not normal and can be the sign of a weak pelvic floor. To get started, look up a therapist in your area and book an assessment. Focusing on kegels is old school. Your muscles might be too tight and practicing kegels can intensify your issues. Your pelvic floor is a reactive muscle. It should know when and how to work without thinking about it. Sometimes our muscles are out of sync and don’t fire off at the right time.

F Words in Motherhood
2021/12/15
When it comes to motherhood it seems like everyone and their mothers have an opinion on what to do and what not to do.  We get it, as moms we want everything to be perfect and it can be so daunting when you have a million different sites, books, and people telling you conflicting things.   In today’s episode, Tu-Hien and Maggie take a step back from interviewing experts to discuss 3 specific F words in motherhood. We’re keeping it real y’all as we speak about formula (and why it’s not the failure option), why things that are totally out of your control are not your fault and how breast milk is not actually free when you consider how much energy and work goes into producing and feeding your baby.    Join us as we sit down and share why every decision you make is a very personal decision you make for your family. You're doing great, mama!    What we covered: Formula: there’s a lot of talk about this on social media which might overwhelm all the moms. We’re here to give the BeauGen perspective- fed is best and we don’t formula shame.  Unlocking a new level of empathy once you become a mom Fault: why it’s time to stop internalizing something that is totally out of your control as a major personal failure  When it comes to breastfeeding and even motherhood focus on one pump session (or step) at a time  Free: it’s common to think that breast milk is free, but there is a hidden cost to breastfeeding Related Episodes:  A partner’s perspective on breastfeeding Mindset Mastery for Moms   Learn more about Beaugen and our products:   https://www.beaugen.com/  https://www.beaugen.com/collections/beaugen

When it comes to food and its impact on our bodies, medicine, and the functional nutrition community are demonstrating that the link between our digestive health and overall health matters immensely.     As moms, we have a busy schedule and often we are focusing on nourishing our children and less so on nourishing ourselves. Considering 70% of our immune system lives in our gut, it shouldn’t be the last thing we consider when we try and get back on track with our health.   In today’s episode, Tu-Hein and Maggie are talking with Courtney Podany,  a nutritional therapy practitioner with an emphasis on gut health. Her focus is to help clients find the most supportive foods for their unique bodies, teach them how to optimize their digestion, and provide everyday tips to begin healing their gut.   During our powerful conversation, Courtney speaks on making the connection between nutritional health and gut health, the importance of nourishing foods over packaged foods, and common examples of food and trends that lead to poor gut health.    What we covered: Courtney shares her journey and how signing up for a nutritional therapy practitioner certificate completely changed her career trajectory How Courtney made the connection between nutritional health and gut health after  being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes  How to keep nutrition simple as a busy mom Common pitfalls you can avoid as a mom when it comes to nutrition Examples of food and trends that lead to poor gut health Addressing poor gut health can help fix symptoms like bloating, low energy, and even acne Top 3 ways you can prioritize your food intake for gut health    Related Episodes: https://www.beaugen.com/blogs/beaugen-mom-podcast/super-moms-need-superfoods  https://www.beaugen.com/blogs/beaugen-mom-podcast/18-from-failure-to-thrive-to-thriving-through-nutrition    Link section:    Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nourished_living_/?hl=en Website: https://trainwithcourtney.com/ Guest Bio:   Courtney’s goal as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner is to simplify health and wellness for her clients with an emphasis on gut health.
