Bruce Wood is the Director of Locmaria Farms in Australia. He came into the industry after retire from the oil and gas industry when he predicted that protein would be a good investment, and the rest is history. His viewpoint in the industry and his grass-centric vision is very interesting and can provide some helpful insight to any farm in the grass-fed protein industry.

Dr. David Lalman grew up on a diversified farm in Kansas, but really enjoyed working with the cattle. As he progressed through school and started to apply for work, he kept falling into opportunities that kept him working with cattle but also continued his education at the same time. In this episode he shares with us some of his research and one point that's particularly interesting is that if you do it right, you can feed cattle up to 20% less without much effect. Joe’s family has been farming for nearly a century and a half, and discusses how in the early 2000s they had to bring livestock back into their operations to help replenish the severely depleted soil. That move has been extremely successful so far and helped get their soil and operation back into a prosperous state.

James has quite a following on LinkedIn and is very outspoken about animal farming - how it should be done and why it gets a bad reputation in certain circles. He's also the proud owner of a Hustler Chainless trailed bale processor and a set of Softhands bale grab, and in particular how they help him farm sustainably.

This episode is with Ian and Maggie Hutchinson from their farm in Puhoi, New Zealand. They recently acquired the farm that Maggie grew up on, as a lifestyle block, but have invested quite a bit into the land and water ways restoration. They're really enjoying the work, so much so that they've even cancelled vacations because they were having more fun on the farm.
