In this episode, we had the pleasure of speaking with three talented Barbadian artists: Alanis Forde, Akilah Watts, and Anna Gibson. They are featured in the group exhibition Arcadia: Often Dreamt, Seldom Lived at the Verena Kerfin Gallery this June 2025. Through their vibrant and evocative works, these artists explore the Black Barbadian experience, offering a glimpse into the beauty and complexity of their island. Rooted in ancestral heritage yet responsive to fast social and environmental change, their art reflects both the dreams and the realities of Barbados — a paradise often idealized, but not fully understood by foreigners. Together, we dive into their creative journeys, their inspirations, and the messages behind their work. Guest curator Karla Marchesi sits down in conversation with Miles Hall, Sebastian Moody and María León, addressing themes explored in the recent exhibition Rocks and tethers. Sie macht Fetischkunst, meist mit schwarzem Kohlestift, große Formate, wunderschöne, elegante, schlanke Körper in Latex gehüllt, Licht-Reflexionen, die Gesichter vollständig maskiert. Und das Ganze hat nicht das geringste von plumper Pornographie, hat nichts zu tun mit direktem Sex oder Gewalt, hier geht es um reine fetischisierte, träumerische Erotik, vollendete Ästhetik in mysteriösen, reinen Gesten. Today we have the pleasure of having a conversation in Spanish with the Spanish artist Juan Fernández Álava, one of the four artists who were part of the group exhibition ''Novus'',  which took place last August 2023. Guided by Irene Sánchez Gómez and carried out via Zoom, in this conversation we talk about the methodologies that the artist follows for making the artworks, the different inspirations and his understanding of color. The argentinian painter Lucas Pertile describes his process as a folder filled with landscapes, flora, and fauna. Taken from the argentinian jungle and then put onto canvas, his paintings, much like portals, tend to transport you to a different place in the world. As our host, Gordon Burgund points out a blessing for the cold winter months in Berlin. Together they talk about Pertile's new exhibition ''Monkey Island'' and how that title represents more than the paintings shown at our gallery. Was bedeutet uns die Natur heutzutage noch? Wegen ihrer Schönheit fällt sie Stadtmenschen wie Gordon Burgund öfter als Zufluchtsort von der Zivilisation auf. Max und Katharina Renneisen stellen die Natur in ihren Kunstwerken auch genauso dar. Ihre Ausstellung ''A Place for Bambi'' beschäftigt sich dann doch auch mit der Tatsache, dass die Natur ein Konzept ist, das wir nach unseren Lebensbedingungen definieren. Wie die Idealisierung der Natur uns auch schaden kann und exklusive Einblicke in die individuellen Kreationsprozesse der beiden Künstler gibt es in dieser Ausgabe BARK and the Gang.

"Ein Künstler, der sich als solcher fühlt.” In Charlie Steins Gemälden reflektiert sich die Isolation, die jeder Künstler erfährt. Dabei liegt der Fokus ihrer Werke darin, einsame, humanoide Roboter abzubilden. Die Ausnahmekünstlerin erklärt, was für sie Künstlersein beinhaltet. Sculptures Galore! In this episode, the legendary professor Bazon Brock talks to artist Ricard Larsson about his big, black bronze sculptures.
