In our fourth episode, Colton and Melissa sit down with the director of the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, Quantia “Key” M. Fletcher, and the director of the Arkansas Arts Council, Patrick Ralston, about The Green Book Exhibit and other cultural happenings around the state.

Host Colton Faull traveled to Marion to learn about the Sultana Disaster Museum, which tells the story of the explosion and sinking of the steamboat Sultana in 1865. The tragic event took more than 1200 lives. Yet despite being known as the worst maritime disaster in United States history, it was eclipsed by other national news at the time.

Hosts Colton and Melissa went to Walnut Ridge to learn more about how an impromptu visit by the Beatles changed the town decades later. They also stopped by the Old State House Museum to view a new exhibit that honors the heyday of concerts at Barton Coliseum and took a road trip to Pine Bluff for a crash course on how blues shaped not only Arkansas’s music but also popular music on a national level.
