Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for October 2, 2026
2026/10/02
In this Daily Devotion for October 2, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 83:10-12, where enemy leaders once sought to take possession of the very pastures of God, reaching for something that was never theirs to claim, an act against God directly, not merely against His people.
This devotion names that same impulse alive today, chasing glory that belongs only to God, wanting credit and control that were never given. But what God claims stays His forever. Jesus proved this completely. He was crucified by people trying to seize power for themselves, yet He rose again, and death could not hold what belonged to Him. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, secured permanently through His finished work. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper He gives us what no enemy can ever take away, His true body and blood, for the forgiveness of sins.
Nothing you have received from God can be taken from you either, not by any enemy, not ever, no matter how hard they try. What He claims, He keeps.

Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for October 1, 2026
2026/10/01
In this Daily Devotion for October 1, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 83:7-9, where a growing coalition of enemies, even the great empire of Assyria, lines up against God's people. Rather than panicking, the writer looks backward, remembering battles God had already won, and asks Him to act again the same way.
This devotion applies that same pattern to prayer today. When new threats grow bigger than expected, look backward first. Remember what God has already done through Jesus, defeating sin and death once for all. That victory already happened and belongs to you completely. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, secured permanently, not dependent on the size of whatever coalition rises against you. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper that same finished victory is placed into your hands again, His true body and blood given for the forgiveness of sins.
No coalition, however large it grows, can ever undo what Jesus has already accomplished. Nothing and no one can take it back from you.

Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for September 30, 2026
2026/09/30
In this Daily Devotion for September 30, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 83:4-6, where enemy nations join together with one shared goal, to wipe out Israel completely and erase its name forever. That ancient plan failed. Israel is still here today.
This devotion applies that same pattern to opposition against Jesus and His Church today, coming from many directions at once, organized and committed, yet no more successful than the enemies of old. Jesus has already secured His name and His Church at the cross, and no plan raised against Him has ever succeeded or ever will. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, secured permanently through His finished work. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper He continues to build and strengthen His Church, giving His true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins.
Do not be afraid when pressure comes from every side at once. The name that matters most cannot be erased. Jesus is still building His Church today, brick by brick, and nothing can tear it down.

Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for September 29, 2026
2026/09/29
In this Daily Devotion for September 29, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 83:1-3, an urgent cry against organized hostility rising up against God's own people, treated as an attack against God Himself, because His people belong to Him so closely that what touches them touches Him too.
This devotion carries that closeness forward to you today. Whatever opposition you face because you belong to Christ, you are not facing it alone or unnoticed. That belonging was secured completely through Jesus, who bore the full weight of every attack sin could raise against you. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, given to us as His treasured ones through His finished work. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper He assures us again that we belong to Him, giving His true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins.
Whatever opposition surrounds you, remember whose treasured one you are. God remains fully aware of every plan raised against you, even when His answer takes longer than you would like. He is watching over you closely, in Christ.

Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for September 28, 2026
2026/09/28
In this Daily Devotion for September 28, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 82:7-8, where every human ruler, however exalted, still dies like any prince. No title changes that outcome. Only God possesses authority that never falls and never needs replacing.
This devotion follows that plea, arise, O God, judge the earth, to Jesus, who was judged unjustly by human courts yet rose again to become the true and lasting Judge over all nations, having already borne the judgment sinners actually deserved in their place. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, secured completely through His finished work. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper that same settled judgment comes to us again, His true body and blood given for the forgiveness of sins.
When earthly authority disappoints you, as it eventually will, remember where lasting judgment actually rests. Every human prince falls. Christ alone reigns forever, and His judgment over you has already been settled completely in your favor through His cross.

Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for September 27, 2026
2026/09/27
In this Daily Devotion for September 27, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 82:4-6, where God calls judges to rescue the weak and needy, then names them gods, sons of the Most High, not divine themselves but carrying real, borrowed authority given for the good of others rather than their own glory.
This devotion applies that same pattern to every vocation today, family, work, and daily calling, authority given to protect and serve, never to rule for self. God still governs His Church directly through His Word and Sacraments, and there, in Christ, we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, given freely rather than earned through our own faithfulness in any calling. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper He continues to care personally for the weak and needy, giving His true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins.
Take your own calling seriously today. You are not a god in yourself, but you carry real authority within your vocation, meant for protecting and serving those God has placed under your care.

Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for September 26, 2026
2026/09/26
In this Daily Devotion for September 26, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 82:1-3, a courtroom scene where God holds human judges accountable for their injustice, calling them instead to give justice to the weak, the fatherless, the afflicted, and the destitute, people with no leverage of their own.
This devotion follows that standard to Jesus, who sought out the weak, the outcast, and the afflicted personally, and who continues that work through His Church and every act of mercy shown to someone with no other advocate. He did not wait for us to become worthy before caring for us. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, given to the weak and destitute rather than earned by the powerful. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper He feeds even the least and the lowest, giving His true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins.
Consider where you have influence today, however small. Whether raising children or serving your neighbor, you are called to reflect this same justice, the justice God has already shown you perfectly in Christ.

Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for September 25, 2026
2026/09/25
In this Daily Devotion for September 25, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 81:16, God's promise of the finest wheat and honey from the rock, abundance that could only come from Him, never manufactured through human labor or planning. Israel missed it for one simple reason. They turned away from receiving it.This devotion carries that abundance forward to Jesus, who called Himself the bread of life, offering nourishment that satisfies far beyond wheat or honey. At His Table, you receive Him truly, His own body and blood, the finest food any sinner could be given, offered freely and completely. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, ready and waiting regardless of your own past stubbornness. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper that same abundance is placed into your hands, given for the forgiveness of sins.Do not measure your life by scarcity today. Come instead to the abundance already prepared in Christ. He still satisfies completely. He always has.Subscribe for weekly sermons and Daily Devotions. If this devotion has blessed you, consider supporting this ministry: https://buymeacoffee.com/whitegandalphYou can also give directly at https://buymeacoffee.com/whitegandalphHashtags (5)#DailyDevotion #Lutheran #LCMS #BibleStudy #Christianity
Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for September 24, 2026
2026/09/24
In this Daily Devotion for September 24, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 81:13-15, a lament from God Himself, wishing His people would simply listen and receive what He was already offering freely. It was never a bargain requiring obedience first, but a gift refused only by stubbornness that chose something lesser instead.
This devotion applies that same pattern to how people resist the good news today. God is not reluctantly offering salvation, waiting to see whether anyone will earn it first. In Christ, the gift is already fully prepared, already fully paid for, already fully offered. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, ready and available to anyone willing to receive it. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper that same freely given gift is placed into our hands again, His true body and blood, for the forgiveness of sins.
Hear this lament today as an invitation, not a complaint aimed at someone else. Whatever ways you have walked instead of His, God's wish over you remains the same. Everything you need is already His to give.

Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for September 23, 2026
2026/09/23
In this Daily Devotion for September 23, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 81:10-12, where God grounds a wide open invitation, open your mouth wide, and I will fill it, in a deliverance already accomplished. Grace comes before instruction. Yet stubborn hearts refused it, choosing their own counsels instead.
This devotion carries that invitation to the Table, where Jesus Himself gives you His true body and blood, not a symbol pointing to something absent, but His real presence given for the forgiveness of your sins. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, offered generously to anyone willing to receive it rather than earned by following our own counsel. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper we open our mouths wide, receiving what only He can give.
Consider your own heart today. Are you approaching God ready to receive what He generously offers, or quietly following your own stubborn counsel instead? He has already proven Himself faithful. Come to Him ready to be filled completely.

Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for September 22, 2026
2026/09/22
In this Daily Devotion for September 22, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 81:7-9, where God reminds His people of a long history of crying out and being delivered, then calls them to listen: there shall be no strange god among you. Celebration and clear commandment were never meant to be separated.
This devotion names the strange gods that still wear different disguises today, money, comfort, approval, endless self-reliance, quietly bowed down to without anyone using that word for it. Jesus alone fulfilled this commandment perfectly on your behalf, and through faith in Him, He frees you to worship the one true God without divided loyalty pulling at your heart. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, secured through His finished work rather than our own faithfulness. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper He draws our hearts back to Him again, giving His true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins.
As you sing and celebrate what God has done for you, let this command echo alongside your joy. Let no strange god take the place that belongs only to Him.

Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for September 21, 2026
2026/09/21
In this Daily Devotion for September 21, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 81:4-6, God's own voice describing real deliverance, a burden lifted, hands freed from the basket, all at once, by His action alone, a decree established permanently for every generation to remember.
This devotion applies that same pattern to Baptism. It is not a burden carried repeatedly, lifted a little more each time you return to it. It happened once, a real and decisive act where God relieved you completely from the crushing weight of sin and death, freeing hands that could never free themselves. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, given once and held onto daily. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and just as Baptism marks that once for all deliverance, the Lord's Supper feeds and sustains it, giving His true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins.
When old burdens try to creep back into your life, remember what God has already said. He has relieved you. He has freed you. That deliverance is decisive and remains yours permanently in Christ.

Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for September 20, 2026
2026/09/20
In this Daily Devotion for September 20, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 81:1-3, an unrestrained call to worship, tambourine, lyre, harp, and trumpet, all sounding together on Israel's appointed feast days. This loud, festive worship was rooted in specific memory, remembering God's real, historical rescue out of Egypt.
This devotion carries that same pattern into worship today. Joyful singing is never meant to float free from remembering what God has actually done. Christians gather, especially around the Lord's Supper, not merely to feel something for a moment, but to remember and receive again the real deliverance God has accomplished through Jesus. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, given through His finished work rather than manufactured feeling. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in that Supper we receive His true body and blood, truly given for the forgiveness of sins.
When you gather for worship, whether at church or quietly at home, let your voice reflect what you are remembering. God our strength has acted decisively in Christ, rescuing you completely. That truth deserves a song raised aloud.

Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for September 19, 2026
2026/09/19
In this Daily Devotion for September 19, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 80:19, the closing refrain that has carried this entire psalm, through shepherd imagery, bread of tears, mockery, and a vine burned to ash. Restore us, O Lord. Let your face shine, that we may be saved. The request never changed because the solution was never going to change either.
This devotion follows that closing plea to its complete answer in Jesus, the true and lasting shining of God's face toward sinners, the one through whom God's favor was finally and fully turned toward His people once and for all. Every earlier request in this psalm finds its yes in Him, not as a temporary reprieve, but as salvation secured permanently through His death and resurrection. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, given completely and forever. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper that shining face is turned toward us again, His true body and blood given for the forgiveness of sins.
Let this refrain become your own prayer today, in whatever ruin you are walking through. His face already shines toward you in Christ.

Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for September 18, 2026
2026/09/18
In this Daily Devotion for September 18, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 80:16-18, the lowest point of the vine's story, burned and cut down to nothing. The prayer then shifts away from the ruined vine itself toward a man, a son of man, whom God would strengthen and place at His own right hand.
This devotion follows that title, son of man, forward across Scripture to Jesus, who took it for Himself again and again. He is the man placed at God's right hand, made strong not by human effort but by the Father's own will, bringing the restoration this psalm has been longing for since its first verse. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, given as life rather than earned by our own faithfulness first. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper that same life is placed into our hands, His true body and blood given for the forgiveness of sins.
When your own life feels burned down to nothing, remember where restoration comes from. It rests entirely on the Son at God's right hand, Jesus, who gives you life so you can call upon His name without fear.
