I've gone back home to Teesside for this episode, I'm chatting to Jo Ager (General Manager of Stockton Globe venue). During the 50's to the 70's the Stockton Globe hosted acts such as The Rolling Stones, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, The Shadows, Cliff Richard and The Beatles (Twice!). On Monday 6th September the venue reopened with Pop chart toppers McFly to rave reviews. Upcoming shows include James Arthur, James Morrison, Rob Brydon and Jools Holland. The region has been screaming out for an amazing venue to attract the most established acts to Teesside, we now have that venue and I for one couldn't be more excited to visit and support it. From his Brentwood beginnings to being the music producer of iconic Rock bands and artists including The Who, Roger Daltry, Wilko Johnson and his long-standing relationship with Manic Street Preachers. David is both charismatic and a great storyteller, from almost studying Maths, to following his true calling of Music by working in a studio and then eventually meeting The Manics. We chat about his journey, Rockfield studios, the creative process, what he looks for in a new act, recording vocals with James Dean Bradfield and Roger Daltry and how 'Nevermind' by Nirvana changed the game for him.
