296. When Learning Doesn't Come Easily: Hope for Worried Moms with Olivia Ramirez, Becoming Speducated
2026/10/08
What if your child isn't falling behind because they can't learn—but because they haven't found the right way to learn yet? If you're a mom who has ever worried about your child's progress in school, felt frustrated by the education system, or wondered whether your child needs extra support, this episode is for you. Today on THE WELL, I'm joined by Olivia Ramirez, founder of Becoming Speducated, for an encouraging and eye-opening conversation about helping children thrive academically, emotionally, and confidently. We talk about the challenges children with unique learning needs face in traditional school settings, why patience and individualized instruction matter so much, and how parents can recognize when it's time to seek additional support. Olivia shares the heart behind starting Becoming Speducated, her passion for working with children who learn differently, and why meeting a child exactly where they are can make all the difference. In this episode, we discuss: Why every child is capable of learning, even if their journey looks different. The challenges that children with learning differences face in today's education system. How to recognize when your child may need additional academic support. Why patience, encouragement, and individualized teaching can change a child's experience with learning. How to advocate for your child when traditional classroom approaches aren't working. The importance of protecting your child's confidence and love of learning. How Olivia works with families through Becoming Speducated and what individualized sessions can look like. A reminder for every worried mom: Your child's struggles do not define their potential. Sometimes children simply need someone who sees their strengths, understands their challenges, and is willing to teach them in a way that makes sense to them. You don't have to have all the answers, and you don't have to navigate the journey alone. Whether your child has a diagnosed learning difference, is falling behind academically, or simply needs a different approach, this conversation offers hope, encouragement, and a reminder that no child should ever feel like they are incapable of learning. 295. You Were Never Meant to Carry Your Whole Family
2026/10/01
As women, wives, and moms, it's easy to become the person carrying everyone else's emotions, schedules, struggles, choices, and future. We notice when something feels off. We worry about our kids. We try to keep the peace. We step in, smooth things over, fix problems, and sometimes take responsibility for things that were never actually ours to carry. In this episode of The Well, we're talking about the invisible weight so many women carry and what it looks like to release some of that pressure. We'll explore the difference between loving and controlling, supporting and rescuing, and guiding our children without trying to manage every outcome. You'll also learn a simple three-part exercise to help you identify: What is yours to carry What belongs to someone else What you need to give back to God If you've been feeling emotionally exhausted, over-responsible, or like the peace of your entire family depends on you, this episode is your reminder that you were never meant to hold everything together. Sometimes restoration doesn't come from learning how to carry more. Sometimes it comes from finally putting something down. In this episode: Why moms often carry invisible emotional weight The difference between parenting and controlling outcomes How over-responsibility can lead to exhaustion Why your child's choices and faith journey are not fully yours to manage What it means to parent with open hands How to trust God with the people you love A practical "Mine, Theirs, God's" exercise How to refill, reset, and restore without carrying your whole family   Welcome to The Well Community! 294. Why Work With a Christian Life Coach When You Can Ask ChatGPT Anything?
2026/09/22
Why work with a Christian life coach when you can ask ChatGPT almost anything? In this episode, Kari Davis explains why information alone doesn't always create transformation and how personalized conversation, faith-based guidance, and compassionate accountability can help you move forward. Discover how Christian life coaching differs from therapy, what outcomes you can expect, and how coaching can help you identify limiting beliefs, create healthier boundaries, clarify your goals, and reconnect with your God-given identity. If you love your life but don't feel like yourself—or you know what to do but struggle to follow through—this episode will show you why being truly heard and supported is still invaluable in an AI-driven world. Life coaching is not therapy or mental-health treatment, but it can provide a safe, judgment-free space to gain clarity and take your next faithful step.   Welcome to The Well Community! 293. I Love My Life… So Why Don't I Feel Like Myself Anymore? | Feeling Lost, Disconnected & Stuck in Midlife
2026/09/10
You can love your life, adore your family, and feel genuinely grateful… and still wonder, "Why don't I feel like myself anymore?" In this episode of The Well, we're talking about the woman who has a good life on paper but feels flat, restless, uninspired, disconnected, or unsure of what she wants next. Maybe nothing is technically wrong. You're not looking to blow up your marriage, quit your job, move across the country, or completely reinvent your life. You just know something feels missing. This episode explores why that feeling doesn't necessarily mean you need a dramatic life change. Sometimes what you really need is enough space to hear yourself again. We'll talk about losing yourself inside motherhood, marriage, work, responsibility, and caregiving; why gratitude and longing can exist at the same time; how restlessness can actually give you important information; and why your next season may be less about "finding your purpose" and more about noticing what makes you feel alive again. You'll also hear simple questions to help you reconnect with yourself, your passions, your creativity, and the parts of you that may have gone quiet over the years. If you've been thinking: "I have a good life, so why do I feel unfulfilled?" "I love my family, but I feel like I've lost myself." "I don't know what I want anymore." "I feel stuck in midlife." "I want something that feels like mine again." "I want more purpose, passion, and energy without changing everything." This episode is for you. This is also exactly where I start with women in coaching: figuring out what's missing without blowing up what's already good. You may not need a brand-new life. You may simply need to find your way back to yourself. Welcome to The Well Community! 292. Don't Lose Her in the Teen Years: Building a Strong Mother-Daughter Relationship with Courtney Lockridge
2026/08/27
GET COURTNEY'S FREE GUIDE HERE   What if one of the best things you could do for your relationship with your daughter was to simply study her? In this episode of The Well, I sit down with Courtney Lockridge, a coach for moms of preteen girls, to talk about what she learned while raising a daughter who was very different from her. Instead of expecting her daughter to think, communicate, or respond the way she did, Courtney became intentional about learning who her daughter truly was. That decision helped them navigate the preteen and teenage years while protecting their connection—and today, with her daughter in college, they share a beautiful relationship. If you are raising a preteen girl, teenage daughter, tween daughter, or young adult daughter, this conversation will give you practical encouragement for staying connected without trying to control who she is becoming. Courtney Lockridge a is Christian mom of 20 years and coach for moms of preteen girls. I help moms build strong, healthy connections with their daughters through faith, intentional communication, and practical tools that create long-term trust and confidence. I live in Nebraska, have three kids ages 13-20, have been married for 24 years and love cooking, reading and being in nature when I'm not cheering my kids on at their many sporting events.   [email protected] courtneylockridge.com     Welcome to The Well Community! 291. From Trauma to Healing: Jen Heller's 30-Year Wellness Journey + Infrared Sauna Tips for Midlife Women
2026/08/20
Today's episode is a powerful conversation about resilience, healing, and learning to support your body through every season of life. I'm joined by Jen Heller, host of the Homes That Heal podcast, who shares the incredible story that changed the trajectory of her life. After surviving a devastating explosion that took the life of a dear friend, Jen went on to experience serious health struggles in the years that followed—including an episode where the left side of her body became paralyzed for a time.. That experience became the beginning of a decades-long journey of asking deeper questions about her health and environment. Over the next 30 years, Jen focused on reducing her exposure to heavy metals, addressing thyroid concerns, making lifestyle changes, and ultimately losing weight and walking other people through creating lives and homes that HEAL. One tool that became an important part of Jen's personal wellness routine? Infrared sauna. During our conversation, I walk Jen through my current infrared sauna routine, and she helps me fine-tune it—especially for women navigating midlife, perimenopause, menopause, and beyond. One of my favorite reminders from this conversation is that wellness doesn't have to be extreme to be effective. Our bodies change, our needs change, and sometimes healing looks less like pushing harder and more like learning how to support ourselves well. If you have an infrared sauna—or you've been wondering whether one might fit into your wellness routine—this is an episode you'll want to hear. And even if sauna isn't your thing, Jen's story is an incredible reminder of what can happen when we become curious about our bodies, our homes, and the things we expose ourselves to every day. Listen in and share this episode with a woman who is navigating midlife and wants to feel better in her body. This episode shares personal experiences and general wellness information and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Always talk with your healthcare provider about what is appropriate for you, particularly if you have a medical condition or are considering significant changes to your wellness routine. 288. Embracing the Tension: Moving Through Grief When Loss Changes Everything with Stacie Tchividjian
2026/07/22
What does it mean to move forward after losing someone you love—especially when the grief never completely goes away? In today's episode of The Well podcast, Kari Davis welcomes Stacie Tchvidjian from The Sanctuary in Jupiter, FL (and online ministries!) to talk about Embracing the Tension, a women's online gathering created to offer honest conversation, faith-filled encouragement, and meaningful community during life's most complicated seasons. Stacie is inviting women to join the next Embracing the Tension online gathering on Thursday, July 23, at 6:30 p.m. Eastern, where Kari will share her personal story of losing her husband, becoming a widow, and learning how to rebuild a life that looked completely different from the one she had planned. Register HERE! Grief is not something we simply "get over." Loss changes us. The pain may soften, and life may begin to grow around it, but grief often remains part of our story. Over time, we learn how to carry both sorrow and joy, heartbreak and hope, gratitude and longing. That is what it means to embrace the tension. In this heartfelt conversation, Kari and Stacie discuss how their friendship began and how women can acknowledge the reality of their pain without losing hope, how faith can sustain us when life no longer makes sense, and how healing does not require us to forget the person or life we lost. This online support is for anyone walking through: The death of a spouse or loved one Widowhood and life after loss Grief that resurfaces years later Unexpected life transitions A season of loneliness or uncertainty The tension between faith and unanswered questions Learning to feel joy without guilt Supporting a grieving friend or family member Rebuilding life after tragedy Finding Christian hope during grief You do not have to rush your healing or pretend that everything is okay. You can deeply miss what was while still making room for what is becoming. Grief may always be part of your life, but it does not have to be the end of your story. Join Kari, Stacie, and the women of Embracing the Tension for an honest and compassionate conversation about grief, faith, resilience, widowhood, healing, and finding hope within a new normal.   Register HERE! 286. From Survival to Being Held: Bethany Rose's Story of Betrayal, Truth & Healing
2026/06/21
Have you ever looked around at your life and realized you've been operating in survival mode for so long that you don't even remember what peace feels like? This episode is one that will stay with you. I'll be honest—I recorded this conversation while I was personally running on empty. I was battling shingles, a fever blister, and feeling completely worn down, which made this conversation about stress, trauma, and healing hit especially close to home. Today I'm joined by Bethany Rose, a woman with an incredible story of faith, heartbreak, resilience, and redemption. Bethany now helps women break free from chronic fight-or-flight and find healing in both their nervous systems and their relationship with God. But what shocked me most about her story? She discovered that the man she thought she was legally married to... wasn't actually her husband at all. What followed was a journey that challenged everything she thought she knew about her life, her faith, and God's voice. Connect with Bethany  In This Episode We Discuss: ✨ Bethany's journey through seasons of closeness with God—and seasons where she felt far from Him ✨ Why both working moms and stay-at-home moms face unique challenges ✨ How anxiety and panic attacks began after becoming a mother ✨ The physical symptoms of chronic stress and unresolved trauma ✨ Living through betrayal, infidelity, and emotional turmoil ✨ Learning to discern God's voice from fear, anxiety, and intrusive thoughts ✨ The shocking discovery that changed the course of her life ✨ What Bethany means when she says: "The world I thought I was living in didn't exist." ✨ Becoming a single mom and rebuilding life from the ground up ✨ Seeing God's provision show up in remarkable, detailed ways ✨ Why the Church truly becomes the hands and feet of Jesus ✨ How trauma gets stored in the body ✨ The effects of long-term fight-or-flight on your health, immune system, and emotional well-being ✨ Why healing the nervous system matters for Christian women ✨ The connection between regulation, purpose, and living out what God created you to do Whether you're navigating grief, betrayal, burnout, divorce, motherhood, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life, this conversation is a powerful reminder that God sees you, holds you, and often provides in ways we don't recognize until we look back. ________________________________________________________ Welcome to The Well Community!
