Poetry doesn't come easily to me. It is a lengthy process of thinking and writing and deleting and writing and deleting and again. When I do manage to create one, I start feeling really good. Like getting goosebumps kind of good. That doesn't last for long, though. Soon I freak out and start realizing how horrible I am. And there goes a long press on backspace. This podcast is a home to those fortunate poems who stood the test of time and my tantrums. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I did creating it.

in this poem, i forget that i am forgotten

The title inspiration came from a poem by Kim Stafford, At The Student Poetry Reading, which goes like this: I guess you could call me broken, says one. I’m still lonely, says another, but now I can name it with a song. In my poem, says another, I can forget I am forgotten. Now I understand being misunderstood, says another. And another says, in a bold, undeniable voice of power, I won’t step down from myself again. And they are beautiful, beautiful, standing one by one at the mic where they have come forth at last from behind the curtain.
