140: How to Embrace Courage Over Fear
2025/09/24
Welcome back to New View Advice! After taking a short break, I’m excited to return with an episode all about courage. In this episode I share – What is courage? What does it really mean? Why is courage important for the healing journey? Why do so many of us struggle to be courageous even though we know we want to be brave?4 Steps for stepping towards courage today This episode is inspired by my own life. Recently, I’ve noticed that many loud and performative people are labeled as courageous, and I’ve found myself wondering – is that true courage? And if not, what is true courage? So in this episode we discuss how  I believe true courage is often quiet and vulnerable. It shows up in those small, everyday moments—like feeling your feelings, setting boundaries, or choosing to show up for yourself even when it’s hard. I hope this episode helps you to see you’re more courageous than you know, and helps you to continue on the brave path of healing and following your heart. 🕓 Timestamps Introduction :05Courage Discussion 3:50Outro: 30:41 🔗 Today's Episode Show Notes: newviewadvice.com/140 ❤️ More Resources from New View Advice: https://www.newviewadvice.com/ I am no longer accepting new questions for the podcast, but if you’d like to reach out, you can still email me at [email protected]. 139: Woman-to-Woman Sexual Assault: Healing from Betrayal & Exploring Workplace Grooming
2025/08/27
In this episode, I address the rarely discussed topic of woman-to-woman sexual assault. I respond to a listener who shares her story of being sexually assaulted by a coworker she trusted and saw as a close friend and mentor. We explore the painful reality that sharing a similar cultural background does not guarantee safety. I also explain what grooming looks, discuss workplace grooming, and outline key characteristics. Throughout, we discuss the complex feelings of broken trust, self-blame, and the unique grief when harm comes from someone familiar. As a rape survivor myself, I emphasize the importance of releasing self-blame — if you’ve experienced sexual violence, it is not your fault. While everyone’s healing journey is different, I offer guidance and advice on how to begin moving forward. I also share a poem. Please listen at your own pace. If you are a survivor, know you are not alone and healing is possible. Sending you all my love. 🔗 Resources & Show Notes: newviewadvice.com/139 ❤️ Sexual Trauma Healing Hub: https://www.newviewadvice.com/healing-sexual-trauma ✍️ Poem Shared in this Episode: https://www.newviewadvice.com/poems-for-the-healing-journey/do-you-live-with-regrets-poem I am no longer accepting new questions for the podcast, but if you’d like to reach out, you can still email me at [email protected].
