Tho and Ford take a meandering tour through religion and politics as Ford tries to articulate the difficulties of having nice manners when addressing political opponents. How rude is too rude? From John Adams and John Dickinson to John the Revelator with some some detours into Florida's political landscape, Ford and Tho have a pretty languid stroll through Church and State with no clear answers. Definitely more of a porch discussion, so grab some hot cider and stay warm. 

Tho and Ford are joined by Tho's brother Tyler to discuss UGA winning the National Championship, and how football can serve as a parallel institution that offers more than just distracting consumerism. 

A Strategy for the Right In 1992 Murray Rothbard penned a blistering manifesto outlining a strategy for the right to take when Neoconservatism would inevitably fail. The NeoConservative Cancer that has served as an astroturfed Vassal State of FDR’s New Deal for the better part of a century is dead. And The Managerial Complex that the New Deal has pampered having been subsidized by the most violent century in world history is scared. I highly recommend Jeff Deist and Ryan McMacken’s discussion in the Human Action Podcast released on November 24, 2021 in which they discuss Garet Garrett’s essay “The Revolution Was.” In the previous essay I read from Rothbard - his review of Sam Francis’ Beautiful Losers, Rothbard mentioned the Garrett essay briefly, and I cannot recommend enough Jeff and Ryan’s discussion of Garet Garrett because it helps put all the pieces together on why Garrett’s essay should be the focal point on where not just The Right, but where America went wrong. In this essay I’m reading today, called A Strategy for The Right, which feels like it was written yesterday, not 1992 - Rothbard picks up where Garret Garrett left off, and gives us the inklings of where we can go next, if we will just cast off the rules of the game the Fraud FDR has imposed upon us. Buckle up. Tho and Ford have Brett on to discuss a twitter skirmish involving Odin, Paganism, and the Christian compulsion to exorcise the demons. 

Tho enlightens us on two local political skirmishes that are really dating the political players in our area: Dr. Neal Dunn's enthusiastic participation in the Vaccine Tracking Industrial Complex, and Joe Gruters (Chairman of The Florida Republican Party) picking favorites in an upcoming Redneck Riviera election.  Tho helps us navigate the political nuances of these issues. Tho also gets an opinion piece published in the online edition of our local paper: "Congressman Dunn doesn't understand immunization information system danger" Ford descends into yet another attempt to categorize the weight of our systemic problems and the role Christianity™ has played in our current malaise. Tho asks the question: if not Christianity, what? What can we hold as our ground of national identity? Ford prevaricates, and agrees that the masses' demand for myth creates vacuums filled with false gods and saints, but remains uncertain as to the ways in which any centralized rallying point can hold people together without demanding scapegoats of its own.  Ford also does his first violin request: Yumeji's Theme from In the Mood For Love  

Tho and Ford are joined by Brett Lindell (@BrettLindell) and JP Ferreira (@JP_Ferr) out in the wilds of Panama City Beach during cold season.  

Tho teases out a bit of Rare Rothbard lore - his 1994 essay "The Franciscan Way" and what it has to teach Paleoconservatives and Paleolibertarians in the current purity spiraling maelstrom. Tho reminds Ford that he has been part of the local Republican Party for a year, and they discuss the lessons Ford has learned from a year observing local politics up close. Ford rants a bit about bad drivers, Mildred the PermaSub, and how his teeth have turned against him. 

Tho and Ford discuss the Rittenhouse ruling, the Desantis Victory over Disney, and dive into an examination of cultural idiosyncrasies that neither find ideal (like Porn, Mega-Churches and Massage Parlors), and how the quest for a Rothbardian button to shift to a timeline in which these idiosyncrasies don't exist is a wish fulfilment dream distracting us from the more mundane tasks at hand: fair trials, local politics, and imprecatory prayers.

Tho breaks down the political angles of the November 2 elections, and discusses his growing fandom of Blake Masters. Ford mentions his newfound fandom Marcel Gautreau after Marcel's appearance on Pete Quinones podcast. Ford also has probably a bit too much rum.
