As the years end and 2022 Political season begins we must keep our ears, eyes and mind open.The continual broken gains with no key structure in the long term effects of redeveloping our society. By way of Social capital narratives, lack of dollars being structurally dispensed to the needy, businesses and communities. We must now stop and ask what does our future truly look like for ourselves, children and society over all.  We cannot continue to build broken gains that keep the bandaid affect in play. What is hope with no actions? Nothing!! It’s a good thing to have hope for ourselves, others, family, community, and more, but what if all the hope is simply conversation with no actions. They are coming to share their awesome online Martindale-Brightwood Black Friday Give Back and Reunion. The goal of the event is to engage past and current residents of the area they serve. The Martindale-Brightwood CDC is raising funds for its affordable housing initiative in the area. The focus is to have the property developed by a resident-driven fundraiser to make sure they have a say in their community. House is the key topic of our city, state, and country. It is our mission to be aware of the non-developmental opportunities for housing in our community. This is just the begging of our community building for themselves and one another. Thank you to our special guest Jasmin Minor (Investigative Reporter with Wish-TV 8 Locally Owned and Operated Station) for coming and giving great input from a strong black woman’s perspective. Jasmin is more just a reporter, she is a resident of our community who cares about the development of our community especially the black community. As our community is currently stuck in a stagnant struggle, we must ask ourselves where do our legacy currently lies. Many in the black community fight to get ahead, but the lack of hope and support causes behaviors that are not becoming of our community. We must let others doubt, but let our developments speak for themselves. Connecting our community with greater opportunities, and supporting others who are looking to get ahead in life, but willingly and unknowingly leaving a legacy not just for their kids and family, but our society as a whole.
