Holding Tiny Hands (Ep. 91)
2026/07/22
For this episode, I am excited to welcome in a good friend and fellow financial advisor, Damian Beard.  While I enjoy discussing financial planning opportunities with Damian and he is an excellent advisor in his own right, this episode is all about Holding Tiny Hands. If you have never heard of Holding Tiny Hands, their mission is to provide emotional and psychological support to parents of preemies and critically ill infants. Serving as Chair and Executive Director here in West Des Moines, Iowa, Damian shares how his passion for this mission originated, different ways the program can help, and how the "Tiny Hands" vision continues to grow. I hope you enjoy this conversation just as much as I did, as Damian's excitement rubs off on anyone within earshot! *this episode was recorded in video format- visit our YouTube Page to watch   Connect with Loren: Share More & Get in Touch Podcast Page Email: [email protected]     Connect with Damian: Email: [email protected] Phone: 515-257-6214 Walk for NICU Superheroes (sign up to walk or sponsor)

Janet shares her personal experience with Blank Children's Hospital and how this ignited her passion for their mission, long before she ever became part of the team. We talk about who Blank serves, what they are up to now, and how you can get involved if you'd like to add Blank Children's Hospital to the list of charities you support. And if you would like to learn more or schedule a one-on-one tour of the facilities, I encourage you to reach out to Janet directly. Creating Your Estate Plan & Avoiding Mistakes (Ep. 89)
2026/05/28
It's my honor to share some insights from CEO of Thompson & Associates, Dr. Eddie Thompson. Estate planning can be a dry topic, but Eddie brings humor, stories, and over 40 years of expertise to the conversation. We talk about why estate planning is so important, how asking the right questions BEFORE creating legal documents is vital, and some of the most common mistakes people make (and how to avoid them). I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did, and if you find it helpful, share it with a friend!    *this episode was recorded in video format- visit our YouTube Page to watch   Connect with Loren: Share More & Get in Touch Podcast Page Email: [email protected]
Home, Auto, & Liability Coverage- Part II (Ep. 88)
2026/04/08
I hope you enjoy Part II with Dave Olchowka of Prizm, as we talk about where people can get into trouble with their home & auto coverage and how to avoid these pitfalls. We also talk about how often you should review your coverage, and situations that may warrant a fresh review. We wrap up by sharing 3 reasons people don't review their coverage (and why most people aren't crazy about change in the first place), and how Prizm helps to remove these hurdles. Home, Auto, & Liability Coverage- Part I (Ep. 87)
2026/03/25
Listen in, as Dave Olchowka of Prizm joins the show to talk about a better way review your home & auto coverage. Dave launched Prizm in 2022, powered by innovative technology paired with human expertise. This leads to a quick and efficient process, while still always having a real person you can talk with. We talk about why Dave launched Prizm and the problems it addresses, some common mistakes people make when it comes to their own coverage, and I share a bit of my own experience working with Prizm, as my wife and I put our own coverage through the Prizm review process. I hope you enjoy this conversation, and be sure to take advantage of a complementary review yourself by clicking: Review My Coverage *this episode was recorded in video format- visit our YouTube Page to watch   Connect with Loren: Share More & Get in Touch Podcast Page Learn More About Prizm Email: [email protected]
Oil & Gas: CEO Steve Blackwell- part II (Ep.86)
2025/12/03
Today is the conclusion of my conversation with Steve Blackwell, CEO of Invito Energy Partners. In part I, Steve and I talked about oil & gas from an investment standpoint, and how not all oil & gas opportunities are equal, nor do all carry the same risk. For part II, we pivot to the unique tax benefits that oil & gas can offer, as this is what draws so many investors into the space. We talk about how an investment into oil & gas can be used to directly offset taxable income, but how it has to be done properly in order to qualify. We discuss who may benefit from an allocation to oil & gas, and just as importantly, who likely would not benefit. We also list off a handful of situations where the immediate tax reduction could be a powerful strategy as a one-time or ongoing use (paying tax on Roth conversion, sale of a business/farm, inheriting IRA funds that lead to higher AGI, offsetting taxable impact of year-end bonuses, "widow's penalty," reducing Medicare IRMAA). As a reminder, none of this should be taken as investment advice, as a personalized conversation is needed to determine if oil & gas, or any of the strategies we discuss on this show, are right for you and your situation. Further, the opportunity we discuss today is only available to accredited investors, which at the time of this recording, means having in income of $200k plus per year (or $300k joint income), or having an excess of $1 million of investable assets (not including your home). In the show notes, you can find Invito's executive summary with part one, and a tax benefits guide with this episode. You can also simply reach out if you would like to learn more about this opportunity.  *this episode was recorded in video format- visit our YouTube Page to watch   Connect with Loren: Share More & Get in Touch Podcast Page Email: [email protected]
Oil & Gas: CEO Steve Blackwell- part I (Ep.85)
2025/11/27
Today I'm joined by Steve Blackwell, CEO of Invito Energy Partners. Steve and his managing partner, Jared Christianson, have a long history and vast experience in the oil & gas space. As an investment opportunity, oil & gas can be a powerful addition to a portfolio, as its returns are not directly tied to the market like many traditional investments, and it offers unique tax benefits, but only if done the right way. While the tax benefits often lead the conversation when it comes to oil & gas, today we look at this solely from an investment perspective, because at the end of the day, all of the tax benefits in the world don't help us if the investment does not perform. As always, none of this should be taken as investment advice, as a personalized conversation is needed to determine if oil & gas, or any of the strategies we discuss on this show, are right for you and your situation. Further, the opportunity we discuss today is only available to accredited investors, which at the time of this recording, means having in income of $200k plus per year (or $300k joint income), or having an excess of $1 million of investable assets (not including your home). You can find Invito's executive summary in the show notes, or simply reach out if you would like to learn more about this opportunity.  *this episode was recorded in video format- visit our YouTube Page to watch   Connect with Loren: Share More & Get in Touch Podcast Page Email: [email protected]
Retirement Risks Analysis (Ep. 84)
2025/09/04
This is a quick impromptu episode where I hopped on the microphone after a couple of client meetings to share some thoughts. In the first half, I talk about the role of the advisor, specifically how it's important for advisors to push back and challenge clients who have strong convictions regarding how to best invest their portfolio. At the end of the day, it's the client's money and they have the final say in how to invest, but I think it's through this push-pull dynamic that we can arrive at the best answers. In the second half of this episode, I share my screen to walk through our Retirement Risks Analysis, which is a complimentary service we offer prospective clients. This is a review of 15 retirement risks, each color-coordinated so you can quickly identify strengths and weaknesses in your planning. This process helps us mutually determine if there is a good fit for a working relationship, and gives us some specific areas to improve so we can hit the ground running. I hope you enjoy this episode, and if you'd like your own Retirement Risks Analysis personalized to you and your situation, get started with the "Share More & Get in Touch" link below, or shoot us a quick email with "Retirement Risks Analysis" in the subject line. *this episode was recorded in video format, so you'll get the most out of it by visiting our YouTube Page and watching there Connect with Loren: Share More & Get in Touch Podcast Page Email: [email protected]

I hope you enjoy this relaxing, long-form interview with Perry Ross!  Connect with Loren: Share More & Get in Touch Podcast Page
Ph.D. Alex Murguia- part II (Ep. 82)
2025/06/25
I'm excited to share Part II of my conversation with Ph.D. Alex Murguia. Alex is a "go-to" expert when it comes to any finance-related topic, as he has a unique ability to combine an academic proficiency with humor and real-world experience. I hope you enjoy today's show, and don't forget to take advantage of completing your own RISA Assessment too!  *this episode was recorded in video format: YouTube On today's show, we discuss: 1) Does our tolerance for market turbulence change throughout retirement?  2) Why is it so important to identify our "retirement income style" (and what are the 4 styles)? 3) Instead of unproductive behaviors like trying to time the market, what are some worthwhile steps we can take in retirement? 4) Why is it important to know your plan's "funded ratio," and what are some of the shortfalls of the more traditional approach called "probability of success?"    *Take a complimentary RISA Assessment   Connect with Loren: Share More & Get in Touch Podcast Page   More from Alex: Retirement Researcher Retire with Style Podcast

Bitcoin- Part Two w/ Isaiah Douglass (Ep. 78)
2024/12/10
Welcome in as we wrap up our conversation with Isaiah Douglass of Swan Bitcoin. Be sure to check out Part One if you missed it, as we lay the groundwork by discussing what Bitcoin is, how it's different than the broad term "cryptocurrency," whether or not it's too late to invest, and much more! For today's episode, we tackle some of the below questions: -How does the current political landscape impact Bitcoin? -How much should investors allocate to Bitcoin? -Where could Bitcoin realistically get to in the next 10 years? -And since this has been a very pro-Bitcoin conversation, I ask Isaiah to present his strongest argument AGAINST Bitcoin. We will tackle additional challenges to Bitcoin in a future episode, but I found this interesting as Isaiah shared a concern that wasn't on my radar. *this episode was recorded in video format, and will soon be available on our channel: YouTube   Connect with Loren: Share More & Get in Touch Podcast Page   More from Isaiah Douglass: Twitter | LinkedIn Swan Private Learn Bitcoin (805) 410-3195
