Be Seen, Be Known, Be Unapologetic with Dee Airey
2025/07/29
In this episode, I’m joined by the brilliant Dee Airey, clarity and confidence strategist, personal brand photographer, and all-round entrepreneurial powerhouse. We dive into the real, raw layers of what it means to evolve in business. Dee opens up about her shift from coaching to a more strategy-led approach, focusing on actual transformation, not just theory. She’s all about helping people get clear, show up powerfully, and see the results (in more ways than one). Together we talk about life as multipotentialites, how hard it is to be told to “pick one thing” when you’re built for creativity and variety. We chat about the balance of energy, responsibility, and joy in business, and the freedom that comes when you follow what feels aligned instead of just ticking boxes. We also pull back the curtain on how societal expectations can shape our career paths, and how liberating it is to finally stop chasing validation and start choosing fulfilment. If you're craving clarity, confidence, and a nudge to follow your creative flow… this conversation will land deep. About Dee: Who am I and why this matters to me… I’m Dee Airey and I’ve been called a ‘serial entrepreneur’. It hasn’t always been this way - I haven’t always been confident. I’m what you might call a ‘Windrush Baby’ - I was born in the ‘60s after my parents came from Barbados.  You don’t have to keep doubting yourself I see you. You’re smart, capable, and driven - but something inside keeps holding you back. Maybe you’re second-guessing every decision, afraid to put yourself out there, or questioning whether you’re really good enough. Maybe you’ve convinced yourself that success is for other women - the ones who seem more confident, more put together, more worthy. I know what that feels like. And I help you break free from it. I’m here to help you move past self-doubt, silence your inner critic, and finally trust and love yourself. To show you that you are enough - right now, exactly as you are. You don’t need fixing. You just need clarity, support, and the confidence to step into the life and business you truly want. If you’re ready to stop holding yourself back, I’m here to help you make that happen. Why Your Mental Makes a Difference
2025/06/10
We talk a lot about success on this podcast, but this conversation is about what it really means to feel abundant. I share some of my own story here, the parts that don’t usually make it to the highlight reel. No big inheritance, no lottery wins, just me, working things out as a single mum with more determination than cash in the bank. What I’ve learned along the way is that abundance doesn’t start in your wallet, it starts in your mind. In this episode, I explore why mental well-being has to come before financial wealth and how your mindset can shift everything. I use a few of my favourite analogies (including a farming one, of course!) to break down why focusing on money alone is a trap, and how real, sustainable success comes from nurturing your whole life: your energy, your relationships, your routines, and your self-worth. If you’ve ever felt like you’re chasing money but still not feeling rich in your life, this one’s for you. Let’s redefine abundance, together. What to Look For in a Mentor
2025/05/27
There was a time I thought the flashier the mentor, the better the outcome. You know the ones, big promises, bold guarantees, and price tags that made your palms sweat. But after walking through different seasons of business myself, I’ve learned the hard (and valuable) way that the right mentor doesn’t always come wrapped in a glossy Instagram feed. In this episode, I’m sharing the honest truth about mentorship for female entrepreneurs. What to look for, what to avoid, and how to know when someone’s truly aligned with your values and goals. From budget reality checks to emotional safety, I open up about my own experiences and what I now believe every woman in business deserves in a mentor. Whether you’re just starting out or scaling to your next level, the support you choose can shape everything. Let’s talk about what it really means to be guided, held, and grown into your full potential, without the smoke and mirrors. The Pursuit of Mental Wellbeing With Gillian Airey Goodwin Pt 2
2025/05/13
Part two of The Pursuit of Mental Wellbeing with my big sister Gillian Airey Goodwin is here, and it’s even deeper, even more powerful. This time, we dive into the emotional and mindset shifts that are essential for running a business and living a grounded, conscious life. We explore what it really means to understand your own patterns, how your emotional responses hold data, and why journaling can be a game-changer for self-awareness. Gillian shares how her studies and life experience have helped her support others in recognising their psychological triggers, and we talk honestly about ego, identity, relationships, and why boundaries are not just healthy, they’re necessary. This episode is a reminder that success isn’t about rushing to the finish line. It’s about becoming more of who you really are, one step at a time. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by your emotions or unsure why certain things trigger you, this conversation is one to lean into. Listen and let it be the gentle loving nudge to reflect, pause, and reconnect with what’s really going on underneath. When a Client Betrays You
2025/05/06
Ever had a client turn on you in a way you never saw coming? It’s gut-wrenching, especially when guilt, blame, and emotional manipulation start creeping into the conversation. I’m talking about those moments when a client’s financial struggles suddenly become your problem, and they expect you to carry the weight. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it stings. And if that client was someone you once considered a friend? Even worse. In this episode, I’m sharing how to spot the warning signs, set firm boundaries, and protect yourself from getting caught in someone else’s financial mess. I’ll walk you through what to document, how to handle complaints objectively, and when to hand things over to credit control or legal so you’re not left emotionally (or financially) drained. Because no matter how much you care about your clients, your peace of mind isn’t up for negotiation. The Pursuit of Mental Wellbeing With Gillian Airey Goodwin
2025/04/30
The pursuit of mental wellbeing has always been close to my heart, and in this episode, I get to explore it with someone incredibly special, my sister, Gillian Goodwin. Gillian shares her journey from life as a teacher to studying psychology at University, and how that shift opened the door to her deep passion for mental health. We talk about her role as a mental health lead in schools, the workshops she delivers, and the children's books she’s written, each inspired by real-life experiences. Gillian’s commitment to prevention, self-care, and supporting others through honest, compassionate education is truly powerful. I loved this conversation, and I know you will too. Deepthroating Bananas Pt3
2025/04/21
Charlotte and I are back for the final part of Deepthroating Bananas!  This time, we’re diving into the real heart of what it means to build a business that actually feels good. We talk about the beauty of community, the power of finding your people, and why running a business without pretending to be someone else is the real win. I open up about the juggle of work and life (yes, the glam and the chaos), what it’s really like working from home, and the joy of getting my own office space with the team. We also get into the deeper stuff, like walking away from toxic environments and slowly, gently rebuilding from the ground up.  It’s a chat full of truth, vulnerability, and a whole lot of love for the kind of entrepreneurship that doesn't sacrifice your soul. Pour a cuppa, press play, and come hang out with us for the last instalment of this juicy, heartfelt trilogy. About Charlotte: I work 1-1 with busy women and stressed-out mums who feel like they've lost a piece of themselves along the way. Whether it’s the never-ending to-do list, the pressure to keep everyone else happy, or just the exhaustion that comes from constantly putting yourself last, I've been there, and I get it. My role is to help you reconnect with you. Together, we’ll work on reclaiming your identity beyond the titles of ‘mum,’ ‘partner,’ or ‘professional.’ We’ll rebuild your confidence from the inside out and create a body you love, not because of how it looks, but because of how strong, energised, and capable you feel in it. This isn’t about quick fixes or crash diets. It’s about sustainable, empowering change that fits into your real life. You deserve to feel proud of yourself again, and I’m here to guide you every step of the way. Deepthroating Bananas Pt2
2025/04/15
Deepthroating Bananas Pt2 is here, and it’s somehow even juicier than the first. We delve into the challenges of unconscious eating, the lingering effects of outdated diet rules, and the journey of unlearning unscientific health practices. Charlotte shares her powerful transition from a traditional personal trainer to a coach who supports women with mindset and emotional well-being. Together, we explore the importance of emotional and mental decluttering, self-awareness, and identity work. We discuss the emotional investment in health transformations and the dangers of following unproven methods. It's all about prioritising your well-being and embracing a more authentic path to health. Deepthroating Bananas Pt1
2025/04/08
This week I’m joined by the incredible Charlotte De Curtis, and we’re diving deep into the real side of the fitness and wellness world, the stuff that goes way beyond meal plans and gym selfies. Charlotte shares her powerful journey from being a traditional personal trainer to becoming a coach who supports women with mindset and emotional well-being. We talk openly about the emotional layers behind physical transformation, the reality of weight loss surgery, and how important it is to address what’s going on inside before we focus on the outside. We also explore how social media has shaped the way we see wellness, and why showing up with honesty and vulnerability is more important than ever. This conversation is packed with truth, compassion, and some seriously eye-opening reflections on what it means to create real, lasting change. Let them - Is Mel Robbins Really A Fraud?
2025/03/18
Alright, pretties, let’s get into it! There’s been some buzz around Mel Robbins’ latest book Let Them - not just because it’s another powerhouse of motivational wisdom, but because some folks are raising eyebrows over whether the core concept actually originated from someone else. We’re talking about Cassie Phillips, who shared a very similar idea before Robbins’ book hit the shelves. Now, Mel is known for taking big, impactful messages and making them digestible, relatable, and oh-so-quotable. But when it comes to crediting original ideas, is there a line that’s been crossed? And because I love a good analogy, I’m tying this into a fascinating Netflix documentary about McDonald’s (yes, really). Idea theft isn’t new... it happens in business all the time. So where do we draw the line between inspiration, adaptation, and straight-up copying? Abundance Isn't Hiding
2025/03/12
Abundance in business isn’t just about money... it’s about alignment. The way you show up in your business should reflect your identity and values, not just your ambitions. A strong money mindset is essential, but it has to be balanced with real action. You can’t just think your way into abundance; you have to build it. I see so many entrepreneurs chasing purpose-driven projects while unintentionally cutting off their income streams. Purpose and profit aren’t opposing forces, they work together. Diversifying your income, keeping financial stability at the forefront, and making sure your business is operationally healthy are non-negotiables if you want true, sustainable success. Abundance also means taking care of yourself. Emotional and mental well-being, financial management, and a solid foundation in your business operations all contribute to an environment where abundance can thrive. You can’t scale, expand, or create impact if you’re constantly stressed about meeting your basic needs. Let’s talk about how to create a business that feels aligned, profitable, and sustainable, without sacrificing who you are in the process. Zelensky - A Masterclass in Behaviour
2025/03/04
Let’s talk about something that’s been on my mind lately... Zelensky’s visit to America and the absolute masterclass he gave in composure, dignity, and handling difficult situations. Politics aside, his response to being confronted by Donald Trump and JD Vance was a lesson in self-control that we could all learn from, especially those of us navigating the chaos of business, leadership, and, well, life in general. I’ll be honest, global events like this always have an impact on how I create content. I can’t just ignore what’s happening in the world and pretend it doesn’t affect us, because it does. The way people handle stress, criticism, and confrontation matters, whether you’re a world leader or an entrepreneur trying to build something meaningful. And watching Zelensky hold his ground with such quiet confidence was a reminder that strength doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful. I’ve had my fair share of moments where I’ve had to bite my tongue, breathe through the frustration, and choose my response carefully, whether it’s dealing with difficult clients, online critics, or just the pressures of running a business. It’s not always easy, but it’s necessary. Respectful interactions and emotional intelligence go a long way, not just in politics, but in every part of life. This isn’t just about leadership on a global scale, it’s about how we show up in our own spaces. It’s about building a community where we lift each other up rather than tearing each other down.  What can we learn from Zelensky’s approach? How do we apply it in our own lives? And how do we create spaces where respect, resilience, and strength become the standard? Don't be Shamed by Your Sense of Injustice
2025/01/28
Lovelies, let’s talk about something close to my heart: the intense sense of injustice that many neurodivergent individuals, particularly those with ADHD, often carry. It’s like having a moral compass that’s permanently set to “fairness,” and when that’s ignored or violated, it feels impossible to let go. But here’s the real kicker: standing up for what’s right? It’s not always easy or consequence-free. Even so, I firmly believe it’s worth it. Fairness and justice aren’t just ideas to me, they’re non-negotiables. That said, being wired to care so deeply about injustice can take its toll, especially if you’re pouring your energy into battles that feel never-ending. That’s why I also talked about learning to detach emotionally, not in a way that makes you stop caring, but in a way that keeps your mental health intact. It’s a delicate balance, but one worth striving for. If you’ve ever found yourself raging against unfairness, whether in the world around you or in your own life, you’ll want to hear this one. We’re diving into how to keep that fire for justice alive while protecting your peace and energy. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this one, drop me a message or let me know your own experiences.  Support the show If you're looking for a friendly and supportive place on the internet then you can join my free facebook group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Socialmediacommunitygroup Buy your copy of Audience Attraction here
Don't Believe Everything You See, Is It Irish Gravy
2025/01/21
So, picture this – I’m being served what I think is Irish coffee, only to realise it’s actually Bisto gravy. Yep, gravy. Mortifying at the time, but honestly, it’s the perfect metaphor for life and business – appearances can be seriously deceiving. We’ve all been there, comparing ourselves to someone else’s polished perfection, thinking we’re not good enough. But here’s the truth: behind every shiny success story is a pile of hard work, mistakes, and messy moments. Nobody wakes up flawless – trust me, I’ve spilled my share of gravy along the way. What I want you to remember is that perfection is overrated. Don’t let fear of being imperfect keep you from showing up, launching your idea, or chasing your goals. Success isn’t about avoiding mistakes; it’s about embracing them. So, go out there, take the leap, and don’t sweat the gravy moments. They make the best stories anyway. Blue Monday - Do You Buy It?
2025/01/14
Blue Monday might be known as the gloomiest day of the year, but it doesn’t have to define your mindset. I’m opening up about the challenges this day can bring and why it’s okay to feel the weight of it. Self-compassion is key, and acknowledging your emotions is the first step toward managing them. From taking well-deserved breaks to indulging in self-care, I’m sharing practical ways to nurture your mental well-being and why seeking professional help when needed is never a weakness. Mental health is a personal responsibility, and staying proactive can make all the difference. Let’s talk about how internal work and self-awareness can not only help you tackle the toughest days but also unlock a path to happiness and high performance. It’s all about showing up for yourself.
