It is so fitting with my taking a look back over chapters of our lives. I mixed it so it is barely audible—just enough to color the nostalgic mood.) Welcome to Turn-Tay-Bull Podcasting’s 60-something episode. This is part two about what ideas arose from the podcast interview, LIKE DAY & NIGHT, published in March, 2026. Andrew and I discussed the song, the singers, the time periods as well as the ever-evolving technologies.  Now let’s listen to our piece, DREW BLUE which came about from jamming one day in my studio some years ago. That day Andrew sang a bass line which I picked up and added chords to. His lyrics eventually inspired me to add drums and trumpet. As the piece unfolded and took shape, it evoked a time and place; people we knew. . . Just as in our previous episode, the value and significance of those prior times resurfaced. I was both shocked and admittedly interested, if not engaged. No way did I think the piece had been improved! Yet, it did let me know how far we’ve come technologically. Almost frightening! Proposed Scene from the next book or film—The LATER INNINGS The 3rd piece you'll hear in this episode I call CYNTHIASYZER. L is the Roman numeral for 50. In this episode Cynthia N’diaye shares some thoughts and advice about health. WOH NELLY! Her conceptual tempo is a lot faster than mine. I feel caught in a whirlwind. Sheʼs so busy, on the run, on the go. It seems funny that sheʼs the one who is so into house music. I, to the contrary, tend to stay home, working on one project or another in my house—writing, practicing (3 instruments), doing yard work or home repair work. We did go to an awards event in Harlem. We sat pretty still there. Then we took a scenic walk along the Hudson RIverbank State Park. A lot was revealed both ways through open conversation. Very pleasant time. Quite leisurely. I have not yet been in her car, but I wonʼt be surprised if she drives fast. Weʼre already “driving” fast—so to speak— though all weʼve done is hold hands. Oh, and we hugged a couple of times. Itʼs like we have known one another for a much longer time. Whatʼs going on here? So far, Cynthia has influenced my music. Who would have ever thought that I would be recording a ʼʼhouse track" ? She—at 5’ 7'', all of 120 lbs.—also has made me think more about what Iʼm eating, especially in this period of my recovery.  Her metabolism must be warp speed. Itʼs all exciting, but I (we) better slow down so no one gets hurt. I guess this would naturally be a vulnerable time for anyone. More ideas which may appear in my next (4th) novel-- LATER INNINGS (working title). This chapter I might call The Seventh Inning Stretch. One song SHE SAVED MY LIFE: THEN BROKE MY HEART is a work in progress w/Anthony Chauncey on bass and background vocal, Q Dowe piano and lead vocal; Bevin on drums. On the second song Bevin is the composer and plays piano.The second song, PRETTY LADY, is a more mature, “finished” piece with myself on vocals, synthesizer and drums.

IDEAS FOR BOOK IV: Our trip to Tortola British West Indies is told in word pictures and music—not carefully scripted--just an outpouring of verbal and musical images. This mountainous, verdant, uncrowded island with its steep, challenging hills overlooking the Caribbean Sea, is our other home. Aye YOH, as my maternal grandmother would often say, meaning so many things.  DOLL LADY describes the lovely femininity on that Island, from my point of view. I played keyboards and percussion on both those island-flavored pieces. My cousin, Jina Billups-Pearce sings QUiet SPACE accompanied by my keyboards. Of all my compositions, I chose to play this one for the Caribbean-born, famous percussionist, producer Ralph MacDonald when I got a one-on-one chance to audition for him. He loved it! ʼʼAll it takes is one,ʼʼ he said proudly, gazing around the room in his mansion. On Sunday, September, 8th, thanks to my literary agents at WRITER’S BRANDING, my novel, THE OTHER SIDE of TOMORROW will be reviewed in The New York Times  Magazine.

We are dedicating this podcast to the people of Ukraine and Somalia--just two examples which represent the horrors of inhumanity, hatred and violence in the world. While the leader of Russia sleeps in a warm bed with a full belly, he dictates the bombing of infants and children, leaving them without heat, food or water as winter grips Europe. In Africa, similar evil persists. Our show expresses the joy and hope for better life in thee places and throughout the world. In a previous podcast I included my arrangement of MARCH SLAV  which was composed by the great Ukrainian composer, Tchaikovsky. I have reprised it. Dr. Belinda Miles and I are promoting our upcoming show on December 17th at the NE Bronx YMCA--a citadel against our own urban terrorism, violence and disorder. Imagine: my arrangements of Sleigh Ride and Frosty  depict uttter happiness and fun, in stark contrast to the war(s) at home and abroad.   Belinda sings a poignant strain of Dona Nobis followed by an original of hers called SO DEEP.
