Klara du Plessis is a South African-Canadian poet, who writes in both English and Afrikaans. Her debut poetry collection Ekke won the Pat Lowther Award,[2] and was shortlisted for the Gerald Lampert Award,[3] in 2019. Her second collection, Hell Light Flesh, was released in 2020. Du Plessis was born in Montreal, but raised predominantly in Bloemfontein, South Africa. She is currently a graduate student at Montreal's Concordia University. Since 2018, she has been developing, Deep Curation, a practice of poetry reading organization that places poets' works in deliberate thematic and conceptual dialogue in performance. Cynthia Sharp holds an MFA in creative writing and an Honours BA in English literature. She is a full member of the League of Canadian Poets, as well as The Writers’ Union of Canada and was the City of Richmond, British Columbia’s, 2019 Writer in Residence. From the Coach House Books website:  Ken Babstock won Canada’s inaugural Latner Writer’s Trust Poetry Prize in 2014 for a body of work in mid-career. His fourth collection, Methodist Hatchet (Anansi, 2011), won The Griffin Prize for Excellence in Poetry and was a finalist for The Trillium Book Award. His previous collections of poetry include, Mean (1999), winner of the Atlantic Poetry Prize and the Milton Acorn People's Poet Award, Days into Flatspin (2001), winner of a K.M. Hunter Award and finalist for the Winterset Prize, and Airstream Land Yacht (2006), finalist for The Griffin Prize for Poetry, The Governor General’s Literary Award, and The Winterset Prize, and winner of the Trillium Book Award for Poetry. His poems have won Gold at the National Magazine Awards, been widely anthologized in Canada, the UK, the US, and Ireland, most recently in The Oxford Anthology of Canadian Literature in English, and translated into Dutch, German, Serbo-Croatian, Czech, and French. All five previous titles were named Globe and Mail Top 100 Books of the Year. Recent poems have appeared in Best Canadian Poetry 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, and in Best of The Best Of Canadian Poetry. A book length poem, On Malice, written while in Berlin as one of DAAD’s International Artist Residents in 2011/12, was published in fall 2014 by Coach House Books to wide critical acclaim. Susan J. Atkinson was born and raised in Northern England. After 15 years working in the Toronto Film Industry, she now makes her home in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, where she and her film maker husband have raised their four daughters. Her poetry has appeared in such journals as Arc Magazine, The Antigonish Review, The Dalhousie Review, Grain Magazine, The New Quarterly, The Queen’s Quarterly and Room Magazine. Maureen Hynes’s first book of poetry, Rough Skin, published by Wolsak and Wynn (Toronto, Ont), won the League of Canadian Poets’ Gerald Lampert Award for best first book of poetry by a Canadian. Her second collection, Harm’s Way, was published by Brick Books (London, Ont), followed by Marrow, Willow in 2011 from Pedlar Press, and, also from Pedlar Press, her fourth book of poetry, The Poison Colour, in fall, 2015. In 2016, The Poison Colour was a finalist for two national poetry awards given out by the League of Canadian Poets:  the Pat Lowther Award and the Raymond Souster Award. Pamela Mosher is a poet and short fiction writer who grew up in Scotch Village, Nova Scotia. Much of her writing draws on her experience living in a rural community. Pamela has a degree in Literature and a certificate in technical writing. After living in Halifax for half a dozen years, she moved to Ottawa, where she now lives with her wife and two young children. Pamela has won Contemporary Verse 2's Young Buck Poetry Prize and been a finalist for the Ralph Gustafson Prize for Poetry and The Writers' Union of Canada Short Prose Competition for Developing Writers. Ariel Gordon is a Treaty 1 territory/Winnipeg-based writer, editor, and enthusiast. Josephine 's poems are often rooted in and inspired by nature and family, and contain lyricism and depth. Her writing oftentimes reveals an underlying universality and echoes with truth. She feels most successful when her poetry resonates with readers and listeners. Josephine has published two collections, the cross-genre Unity which integrates her photographs, poetry and prose, and The Cowichan Series, a Calgary Herald bestseller which includes her photographs and poetry created during a visit to the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. Rob Taylor is the author of four poetry collections: Strangers (Biblioasis, 2021), Oh Not So Great: Poems from the Depression Project (Leaf Press, 2017), The News (Gaspereau Press, 2016) and The Other Side of Ourselves (Cormorant Books, 2011). In 2017 The News was shortlisted for the Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize and in 2010 the manuscript for The Other Side of Ourselves won the Alfred G. Bailey Prize. Bob MacKenzie was born in New Westminster B.C. Much of his childhood and youth were spent walking in the woods and along the shores of Alberta and B.C. from our southern border as far north as the Cariboo. He now lives and writes in Kingston, where he enjoys daily walks along wooded paths and on the shores of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River. Bob MacKenzie’s poetry has appeared in more than 400 journals across North America and as far away as Australia, India, Italy, and Greece. He has published 19 volumes of poetry and prose fiction, including "unbroken" (Cyberwit.net, 2022), "Footsteps in the garden" (Cyberwit.net, 2021), “somewhere still in wind the tree is bending” (Silver Bow Publishing, 2018), “On Edge” (Dark Matter Press, 2012), and “The Little Song” (Brandstead Press, 1975). His poems have appeared in numerous anthologies and have been translated into Arabic, into Greek for an anthology widely distributed in Greece, and into Farsi for two Persian language anthologies published in the United States. Bob's received numerous local and international awards for his writing as well as an Ontario Arts Council grant for literature, a Canada Council Grant for performance, and a Fellowship to participate in the Summer Literary Seminars in Tbilisi, Georgia.
