The World Indoor Championships in Belgrade Serbia got underway at the beginning of March and it didn't disappoint. There were some great performances, some upsets, a few world records, and of course, it wouldn't be Track & Field if there wasn't some "hot topics" to get us all talking! Did Marcell Jacobs really win the Men's 60m? Was that jump in the Long Jump really a foul? What happened to Swoboda? Will Rojas jump 16m? We also heard Mondo Duplantis broke the World Record - but we didn't get to see it. Overall, the 2022 World Indoor Championships was a good one, BUT we all know the real Track & Field season doesn't really start until athlete's head "outside" and start putting down some early season performances on the outdoor track. And, from the looks of things already, this season is about to be one to remember!  Fred Kerley has already run under 10s in the 100m, 20.0 in the 200m, and 44.4 in the 400m!! And this was all BEFORE April!! Why is Elaine Thompson-Herah running 400m....in 56.72? And, where is Tara Davis?  Its about to be a very busy summer... It's been a frantic few weeks since our last episode. With the World Indoor Championships only a couple of weeks away, February seemed to end in a frenzy.  There were a lot of standout performances from athletes around the world that caught our eye in more ways than one. The Tokyo 2020 Olympics Games have recently concluded, and after all of the speculation of whether an Olympic Games could or should be held during a pandemic.   After all was said and done, it has been seen by most as a big success.  Track & Field had many highs and lows, and there were some truly outstanding performances, despite no crowd.  We give our "hot take" on many of the performances, and news that got the world talking, as well as our overall thoughts on an Olympics in a Pandemic. The Games of the XXXII Olympiad, otherwise known as Tokyo 2020, was originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, but the event was postponed in March 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. With the Olympics finally on the horizon, should the Olympics have ever have gotten this far in the first place, or should it have just been cancelled all together? These are some of the questions we discuss, along with some of the logistics and rules in place to try and make an Olympics happen in a pandemic. In arguably the craziest week in in Track & Field history, Jade and Anson unpack all the top stories, astonishing results, the highs, and the lows of a week (or three) filled with drama, and fueled by emotion.  One of the most talked about stories this week was that of Sha'Carri Richardson - US Champion and Olympic gold medal favourite.  She tested positive for a prohibited substance soon after winning the US Trials and booking her trip to Tokyo.  She subsequently received a one month ban, meaning she will miss the Olympics altogether.  The response sent shockwaves through the world of Track & Field - AND BEYOND - making it one of the biggest drugs "scandals" in Track & Field history!   What was she banned for?  WEED!?! In Episode 5, Jade and Anson give their take on one of the hottest topics in the world of Track & Field, and Sport as a whole - DRUGS. In light of the recent revelations that American record holder in the 1500m and 5000m, Shelby Houlihan, who recently tested positive for the banned substance Nandrolone, the pair have an in-depth discussion about the amount of positive support the media, fellow athletes, and fans, have shown for the White female American athlete.  Historically when it comes to Black athletes the reaction is completely different, and this case has shone a light on the disparities and bias shown. They also, discuss an array of other doping related topics, as well as the inconsistencies that are present in the testing system as a whole.
