Will the quiet pattern across the Atlantic Basin last throughout the remainder of October? While the Atlantic remains quiet for now, there are some signs in the longer range guidance that things will eventually change as we head towards the end of the month. Watching a couple of areas in the Atlantic but no major concerns seen for the next several days. Meanwhile, hurricane Pamela will make landfall near Mazatlan, Mexico tomorrow and I will be there covering it in person beginning later today.  Thanks for listening!

Not much to be concerned with across the Atlantic Basin as we wrap up the weekend but a new depression in the eastern Pacific will become a hurricane and impact Mexico later in the coming week. Thanks for listening!

Keeping watch over invest area 92L off the North Carolina coast - otherwise the Atlantic Basin is nice and quiet this weekend. In the eastern Pacific, a new tropical storm is likely to form this weekend from invest area 91E and eventually looks to impact Mexico around mid-week next week. Watching a complex storm system off the Carolinas over the coming days for possible development but nothing too impactful is expected from it. Meanwhile, we will also be monitoring the southeast Pacific for the development of a tropical storm that could eventually impact Mexico sometime later next week. The Atlantic Basin is nice and quiet now that Sam has cleared the pattern. I don't see much to be concerned with over the coming days as the overall pattern is simply not too conducive for development. On the other hand, a tropical depression is likely going to form in the southeast Pacific over the coming days and it could impact Mexico early next week. Now that Sam has transitioned into a large, powerful ocean storm we turn our attention to a few areas of interest across the Atlantic and the southeast Pacific. So, nothing looks too promising in terms of development but activity will likely pick up again within about a week.
