Life As A Grassroots Football Coach Part 2: Interview with Charlie Johnson
2026/10/11
He. Is. BACK (stronger). Yes, we followed up with Chizzle off of our last episode, finishing off his career history, his future prospects and also - how Millsy's childhood home was structured?! Yep, we covered it all, check us out on Spotify, Apple or indeed any good podcast media player!
Life As A Grassroots Football Coach: Interview with Charlie Johnson
2026/09/28
He's back, but this time not as Millsy's silly friend, but as a serious podcast guest - it's our mate Chizzle! Despite being just 33 years of age, Charlie is very much an experienced football coach, having led teams from various age groups and genders during his long yet still fledgling career. We've had NS Mura, we've had Bodo/Glimt, we've had AGF Aarhus on the pod. But as serious fans, we love to hear about not just those at the top of the game, but also from those who spend their time and energy at the other end of the rung, ensuring everyone can enjoy this beautiful game of ours and Chizzle is a perfect example of that. Enjoy listening to his career highlights and his different takes on all subjects grassroots football - and stay tuned for part 2 next week! The FPL Episode with FPL Connect
2026/09/08
This week, Millsy and Mason had a great time talking to Simon, a former FPL celebrity and current (almost) top 10k player! As Millsy is "somewhat" of an amateur when it comes to Fantasy Premier League, there were of course plenty of things to discuss and questions to be asked. Are you wondering how YOU could perhaps improve your FPL score? Want to know what the tips and tricks of "the trade" are? Then tune in and let FPL Connect show YOU the way to higher FPL scores and follow Millsy's quest to become a top 500k player!
The Hootenanny Returns (Again)!
2026/09/04
Alas, it has been yet another month without an update to the pod feed (find out who is exactly to blame...). In this episode, Millsy and Mason hit all the hot topics, looking at the start to the season AFC Bournemouth and Manchester United have. Also get ready to meet Dino Dad, get a sticker album update and also get an update on the Hootenanny Kicktipp League, as well as FPL and Last Man Standing!
2026 World Cup Debrief
2026/08/06
Shady car park sticker swaps, postal VHS swap betrayal, the Kicktipp Interviews that aren't happening, future projects. All the things that Millsy and Mason discussed whilst they SHOULD have been discussing the 2026 World Cup, England's performance and their reaction to it (don't worry, they get there in the end!)
World Cup 2026: England vs DR Congo Reaction and MORE!
2026/07/02
Recorded straight after the heartstoppin game between England and the Democratic Republic of Congo, Millsy and Mason invited hearers of the pod to give THEIR view on the match, LOTS of hilarious reactions in this one! As well as that, there is of course a Kicktipp update, a discussion on other knockout round games so far and also some VERY interesting alternative ideas to VAR. Have a listen, check out our socials and let us know what you think!
World Cup 2026: Gameweek 2 Review
2026/06/26
The second week of the 2026World Cup is also behind us, so of course we had to take a look at it. We begin of course with a discussion on our World Cup Kicktipp league, the competition for which is really heating up! Then of course comes all of the most burning topics; the posession stats display at the stadium and on tv, Canada's record-breaking goalscorers, THAT Shakira performance. We finish up with a discussion on a real Millsy favourite - the UNOFFICIAL Football World Championship, with current champions - the USA!
World Cup 2026: Gameweek 1 Review
2026/06/19
The World Cup 2026 is finally here and what a rip-roaring first week it was! Millsy and Mason have both been absolutely buzzing to get on their mics and discuss this footballing bonanza! Topics this week were of course a Kicktipp update, as the league swelled up with participants and was arguably just as exciting as the competition itself (as well as revealing a few...choice player names) Further to that, hydration breaks was a hot topic, as well as the new rules instigated by FIFA's head of refereeing Pierluigi Collina. Is the group stage lacking a bit of jeopardy for the big teams? Have your say and reach out to us in the comments, or on Facebook, Instagram or even now YouTube!
World Cup Preview Episode 2
2026/06/11
The final or "original" part of the previous episode (which took longer to edit, hence why Millsy got lazy and posted the short one first) Here we get back to talking proper football things, covering our favourites for this year's World Cup. France, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, The Netherlands, Germany, Brazil...and who was the other one again??? Join us, drop us a rating, find us on socials let us know what you think of the episode!
A Controversial Episode
2026/06/06
Millsy and Mason have somehow managed to put their proverbial feet in it. That's right, all it took was ONE World Cup preview episode and the socials went NUTS! People were hammering us left, right and centre, so much so that we have had to release an entire episode purely to deal with them. Join us, as we discuss Mason's half-cooked World Cup coin album, New Zealand's World Cup win record and the controversial end to the Panini World Cup virtual sticker album race!
World Cup Preview Episode 1
2026/05/19
The first of several World Cup 2026 preview episodes, this one starts off where most others don't - with the teams who may not be holding the trophy aloft come the 19th July. Millsy and Mason open their World Cup account discussing the journeys of the debutants; Cape Verde, Curacao, Jordan and Uzbekistan, eventually picking their favourite dark horse. Following that, Millsy quizzes Mason on some niche World Cup statistics: Who has been to a World Cup, but is yet to score a single point? Who has scored points but has yet to score a win? Can YOU answer any of these? This episode also takes time to explore the wild, wonderful, and occasionally tragic world of teams who entered the World Cup with everything to prove—and sometimes proved absolutely nothing. From bold World Cup rookies shaking up the tournament, to sides who left with a clean sheet of zero points, to the ultimate “what could have been” story of Egypt missing their boat to the 1930 World Cup - this is an underdog anthology with equal parts drama, comedy, and football nerdery.
Hootenanners Do Sticker Albums
2026/05/11
The main theme this week before the pod descended into absolute mayhem was actually football sticker albums! That wasn't the only thing we spoke about, we of course touched on some major European football stories; FC Thun, Gornik Zabrze among others and of course it all led to just one place: Gary Johnson's football career, where else? Join Millsy and Mason, dear Hootenanners, for another episode of them talking utter nonsense to keep you occupied for most of an hour, enjoy!
The Football Hootenanny x AGF Aarhus // Interview with Søren Højlund Carlsen
2026/04/23
Millsy and Mason are back with another one of their favourite types of episode, an interview with a bona-fide footballing personality. This time, we had the absolute pleasure of talking to Søren Højlund Carlsen, Senior Content Creator for the current leading Danish Superliga team, AGF Aarhus. A passionate all-round football fan and even more passionate AGF Aarhus fan at heart, Søren takes us through the history of the club, both old and recent. He explains to us his own personal experience following the club and what his hopes and dreams are; both for the next few weeks (don't jinx it, Mason) and indeed for the next few years. This episode was a true delight and we hope you will enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed interviewing an absolute gentleman!
The Return of Chizzle
2026/04/21
Millsy and Mason have decided to bring back an old pod favourite - the one and only Chizzle! The lads of course discuss all of football's current biggest subjects: - AFC Bournemouth derailing Arsenal's title bid - What biscuit selection does Eddie Howe have? - Does Yellow Buses, former AFC Bournemouth sponsor still exist?! Stay tuned right until the end to hear the first edition of Chizzle's new regular guest feature, Chizzle's tat, because it is a doozy! Sit back, relax and get on board with the boys casually settling the most huge debates football has to offer (unless you are listening to this whilst driving, then please focus)
