254. What’s Really Stopping You From Speaking Up Part 2 with Sara Bybee Fisk
2026/09/30
What if you didn’t have to know exactly how a hard conversation would go before you were willing to have it? If you knew that you could speak up and handle whatever happened next, how much more freedom would you have in your relationships? This episode is the second part of my conversation with Master Coach Sara Bybee Fisk, where we’re talking about one of the most important skills for women: learning how to have hard conversations. When you’re able to stop rehearsing, trying to find the right words, and walking on eggshells until it’s the “right time” to speak up, you get your life back and gain the confidence to have any conversation you need to. Last week, we laid the groundwork for understanding why so many women struggle with this skill. This week, we’re diving into actually developing the tools that help you speak up in your life. Sara shares three foundational skills she teaches women to help them have these conversations: stop debating whether something matters, say what you actually mean without editing yourself to manage someone else’s reaction, and trust yourself to handle whatever happens afterward. We also explore how to recognize when fear is keeping you from speaking up, and what effective communication actually looks like. Speaking up helps you know yourself more deeply and build more honest connections in your relationships. When you trust yourself to have the conversation and handle whatever comes next, you get to decide which relationships you want to invest in and how you want to show up in them. That’s the kind of freedom and confidence I want for all of you listening. Let’s dive in! What you’ll learn: The three skills that will help you have hard conversations with more confidenceHow to stop debating whether something is “valid enough” to bring up and trust that it’s enough if it matters to youHow to recognize when fear of someone’s response is keeping you from speaking upWhy trusting yourself to handle whatever happens after you speak up is an important part of the processHow parts work can help you care for the part of you that feels afraid to have a hard conversation You can read the full show notes here. About Sara Bybee Fisk Sara Bybee Fisk coaches capable women through the conversations they're afraid to have. As a Master Certified Coach and host of the Ex-Good Girl Podcast, she's worked with thousands of women in medicine, business, and faith communities who've done years of personal work but still freeze when something they care about is at stake. Her approach is straightforward: most women don't need another insight or a better script. They need to interrupt the calculation loop that runs before they ever open their mouth, what she calls “Good Girl Math”. Sara teaches three concrete skills to help women locate exactly where they get stuck and what needs to change. She's a born-again feminist who grew up in a high-demand religion and now speaks nationally on conflict, communication, and what it looks like when women finally learn the skills needed to have any hard conversation they need to have. 253. What’s Really Stopping You From Speaking Up Part 1 with Sara Bybee Fisk
2026/09/16
Have you ever found yourself biting your tongue, aching to speak your truth but feeling like something’s holding you back? That inner tug-of-war can be exhausting, and you’re not alone in it. In this episode, we’re uncovering why so many of us avoid speaking up and how you can finally break free from that pattern. In this episode, I'm joined by Master Coach Sara Bybee Fisk to talk about one of the most important skills for women: learning how to have the hard conversations that are taking up your brain space and energy. When you’re able to stop rehearsing, trying to find the right words, and walking on eggshells until it’s the “right time” to speak up, you get your life back and gain the confidence to have any conversation you need to. One of the biggest reasons women avoid hard conversations is that they worry it will cost them connection. But when you can speak up in your relationships, you gain clarity on what the relationship truly is. In some cases, you’re brought even closer, and in others, you learn that the relationship isn’t giving you what you hoped it would. We’ll talk about why this fear is so present for so many of us, and how our early experiences and programming teach us to focus on other people’s needs instead of our own. Silence can often feel like the safest option, but having the hard conversations is the key to more clarity and connection in your relationships. Let’s dive in! What you’ll learn: How to recognize when your ability to speak up needs strengtheningWhy highly capable women can become invisible to themselves and the people around themThe definition of “good girl” math and how much time it’s taking away from your lifeWhy you may be able to speak up for everyone else but struggle to speak up for yourselfWhy trying to calculate someone else’s reaction will never give you the answer you’re looking for You can read the full show notes here. 251. The Life Mastery Method Part 6: Your Relationship with Yourself Is the Key to Real Transformation
2026/08/26
Before you hit "play," make sure you've listened to Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, and Part 5 of the series! What becomes possible when you strengthen your relationship with yourself? When you know yourself, trust yourself, and feel deeply connected to who you are, you gain the clarity and momentum to move toward what you truly want. A strong relationship with yourself is about becoming comfortable and confident in who you are. That foundation can change not only how you lead your own life, but how you show up for others. This episode is the final in my 6-part series teaching you the Life Mastery Method. So far, we’ve explored whether change is possible, learned how to interrupt patterns that keep you stuck, talked about the importance of your emotional world, examined how the nervous system shapes the way we work toward change, and looked at how to create action plans that actually work. Today, we’re bringing it all together by exploring the thread that runs through every part of the Life Mastery Method: your relationship with yourself. I've also created a companion worksheet to help you follow along with this episode, which you can download here. Many of us don't really know what it means to have a good relationship with ourselves. In this episode, we’re taking a closer look at what it means to truly know yourself, build self-trust and self-connection, and nurture your relationship with yourself through greater attention, compassion, and care. Because when it comes to creating change, your relationship with yourself is the key to the life you want. I hope this series on the Life Mastery Method has given you a deeper understanding of what it takes to make a real transformation in your life. If you want to explore this work more deeply, I’d love to have you in Master Coach Training. We cover everything from these six episodes and so much more. Send in your application, and we can talk about whether it’s the right fit for you and the change you want to create as a coach, in your own life, or both. What you’ll learn: How not all training programs or coaches actually cultivate a strong relationship with self and how to tell the differenceWhat positive self-talk really means and why building a good relationship with yourself goes far beyond simply saying nice things to yourselfWhy knowing yourself is so important and how clarity about who you are and what you want creates momentumThree specific things that indicate a good relationship with yourself and how you can begin to strengthen themA powerful question we discuss on day one of Master Coach Training that you can ask yourself regularly You can read the full show notes here. 250. The Life Mastery Method Part 5: How to Create Effective Action Strategies
2026/08/19
Before you hit "play," make sure you've listened to Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4 of the series! Taking action toward something can feel so good. It gives us a sense of moving forward and getting closer to what we want, but at the same time, it can feel discouraging when we fall off our plan. When that happens, the key isn’t simply taking more action. It’s learning how to follow through on your goals using action strategies that work with your mind, emotions, nervous system, and real life. This episode is the fifth in my 6-part series teaching you the Life Mastery Method. So far, we’ve explored whether change is possible, learned how to interrupt patterns that keep you stuck, talked about the importance of your emotional world, and examined how the nervous system shapes the way we work toward change. Today, we’re talking about your relationship with taking action. You’ll learn how to create action plans that account for the obstacles that may get in your way, understand why some plans are easier to follow through on than others, and use strategies that support you when things don’t go exactly as planned. I've also created a companion worksheet to help you follow along with this episode, which you can download here. So, why do even the best action plans sometimes fall apart? Taking new action requires energy and effort, and when something feels difficult, it’s easy to assume it will always feel that way. Add in harmful beliefs about yourself and old patterns, and it becomes even harder to follow through. In this episode, you’ll learn how to anticipate the obstacles that could get in your way and create strategies for them ahead of time. Your action plan doesn’t have to unfold perfectly, and changing the plan doesn’t mean you’ve failed. The goal is to stay connected to what you ultimately want while giving yourself the flexibility to reassess, redirect, and keep moving forward. Next week, in the final part of the series, we’re diving into the key to making any transformation possible: your relationship with yourself. What you’ll learn: Why understanding your mind, emotions, nervous system, and behavior patterns can change the way you approach taking actionWhy new habits and behaviors require more energy at first, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t workingHow to anticipate obstacles that may interfere with your plan and create strategies to help you when they ariseExamples of action strategies for better health, wealth, and relationships and how to stay on track with each oneWhy it’s important to remember that your action plan is a pathway to your goal, not the destination You can read the full show notes here. 249. The Life Mastery Method Part 4: Your Nervous System Is Not the Enemy
2026/08/12
Before you hit "play," make sure you've listened to Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 of the series! How often do you find yourself in a stress state—highly activated, reactive, and overwhelmed—when it comes to a certain area of your life? My guess is that when this happens, you don’t like how you feel and wish you could feel differently. But that activation is a signal that there’s something in your life you need to pay attention to, and learning to understand your nervous system can become a powerful tool for creating change. This episode is the fourth in my 6-part series teaching you the Life Mastery Method. So far, we’ve explored whether change is possible, learned how to interrupt patterns that keep you stuck, and talked about the importance of your emotional world. Today, we’re turning our attention to the nervous system and how it shapes the way we work toward change. Because your nervous system is not the enemy; it’s an essential part of moving you towards growth. I've also created a companion worksheet to help you follow along with this episode, which you can download here. Instead of assuming that every uncomfortable activation needs to be regulated away, I invite you to get curious about what your nervous system is trying to tell you. There is a difference between a stress response that needs support and an alert that something in your life isn’t aligning with your needs and values. Learning to make this distinction can help you better understand your patterns and practice responding rather than reacting when challenging situations arise. Your nervous system is the backdrop of all your thoughts and feelings, and it’s working constantly to keep you alive, protect you, and help you navigate the world around you. I’m so grateful for my nervous system, and I hope that by the end of this episode, you will be too. There are two more parts left in my Life Mastery Method series, so make sure you tune in next week when we talk about action strategies that actually work. What you’ll learn: Why your nervous system isn’t the enemy and how healthy sympathetic activation can actually mobilize you to take actionThe difference between the old brain and the new brain: one is designed to prioritize survival while the other gives you the ability to plan and problem-solveHow to use discernment when your nervous system is activated by asking whether your response is coming from past fears or alerting you to a real problemHow building nervous system resilience can make it easier to access and understand your emotionsWhy practicing the ways you want to show up can help turn positive behaviors into automatic patterns over time You can read the full show notes here. 248. The Life Mastery Method Part 3: Your Emotional World is the Key to Real Success
2026/08/05
Before you hit "play," make sure you've listened to Part 1 and Part 2 of the series! If you've ever tried to think your way out of your emotions, you already know it doesn't work. Instead, you end up closed off and disconnected, not just from what you feel, but from your deepest intuition and inner knowing. When you truly get to know your emotional world, the mindset shifts you've been seeking finally become possible. This episode is the third in my 6-part series teaching you the Life Mastery Method. First, we explored the question: Can people really change? Can someone who repeats patterns over and over truly transform their life? The answer is yes, and last week we focused specifically on interrupting patterns that keep you stuck. Today, we’re talking about all things emotions, because understanding your emotional world is truly the key to better relationships and the life you want to create. I've also created a companion worksheet to help you follow along with this episode, which you can download here. We'll explore what you may have learned about emotions growing up, how a lack of emotional support can shape the way you navigate life today, and why so many people become disconnected from their emotional world. I'll also explain why your emotions provide clarity about what you want, what you need, and why you're stuck. Your emotional world has the power to transform your relationships, your wellbeing, and the way you experience life. That’s why understanding your emotions makes lasting change possible. Come back next week for Part 4 of the Life Mastery Method series as we dive into the nervous system. What you’ll learn: The language of your emotional world and how messages like "you're too sensitive" or "just stay positive" can shape your relationship with emotionsHow emotional neglect can lead to coping strategies that keep you disconnected from yourself and a book to help you learn more about itAn example that illustrates how avoiding your own emotions can limit your ability to support the people you loveWhy emotional development is crucial for growth and why just thinking differently doesn't workFour questions to ask yourself that will help you stop fighting your feelings and start building self-trust You can read the full show notes here. 247. The Life Mastery Method Part 2: Mind Mastery and the Power of Interrupting Patterns
2026/07/29
Before you hit "play," make sure you've listened to Part 1 of the series! You've probably heard that changing your thoughts changes your life. But what if your thoughts aren't actually where change begins? There’s no doubt that mindset work plays an important role in coaching, but lasting transformation starts by interrupting the patterns beneath your thinking. This episode is the second in my 6-part series teaching you the Life Mastery Method. Last week, we explored the question: Can people really change? Can someone who repeats patterns over and over truly transform their life? The answer is yes, and this week, we're focusing specifically on interrupting those patterns that are keeping you—or your clients—stuck. I've also created a companion worksheet to help you follow along with this episode, which you can download here. Our brain, emotions, nervous system, and behaviors all live in patterns, and some of the biggest changes in ourselves and in society come from interrupting those patterns. I see it in the women I work with who are prioritizing their well-being, changing relationship dynamics, and stepping into greater financial independence. I see it in the men I work with who are allowing themselves to cry and fully experience their emotions. Changing patterns is possible, and learning to interrupt the patterns that no longer serve you is one of the missing keys to the greater experience of life we're all craving. Today, I'll walk you through four different ways to interrupt your patterns so you can experience more peace, greater alignment with your values, and a deeper sense of who you are and your worth. Next week, we'll go even deeper into the emotional side of the Life Mastery Method and discover why learning to work with your emotions is one of the most powerful ways to grow. You can read the full show notes here. What you’ll learn: The way I teach mindset work and why it's likely different from what you've encountered beforeHow patterns aren't inherently negative and why strengthening healthy patterns is part of growthWhy mindset work and pattern interruption are connected, but why mindset alone isn't enoughWhy using thinking to avoid your feelings keeps you stuck and how to interrupt that patternHow life mastery isn't possible unless we learn to connect with our emotional selves Listen to the rest of the Life Mastery Method series: Part 1 episode + worksheet Connect with Molly Claire Master Coach Training Application Open Get the book: She Rises: Insights and Wisdom from the Women of The Masterful Coach Collective Molly's Website: MollyClaire.Com Have a question or thoughts about the podcast? 246. The Life Mastery Method Part 1: Can People Really Change?
2026/07/22
Can people really change? It's a question we've all asked. Whether you've watched someone repeat the same self-sabotaging patterns, or you've struggled to transform your own life, there are times when real, lasting change can feel impossible. This episode is the first in my 6-part series teaching you the Life Mastery Method, and the first thing I want you to know is that change is possible. Anyone can change their life for the better, including you, and today we’re exploring what that really means and the circumstances needed for change to happen. I've also created a companion worksheet to help you follow along with this episode, which you can download here. Change doesn't come from mindset alone, even though your thoughts are an important part of the process. Lasting change happens when you understand your mind, emotions, nervous system, and how they all work together. Transformation can feel difficult because we often focus on changing our thoughts without realizing that our emotional world and sense of safety play an equally important role. This is just the beginning of the journey, and I can't wait to dive deeper into the Life Mastery Method over the coming weeks. Let's get started! What you’ll learn: A meaningful conversation I had with my son that reminded me why lasting change is always possibleHow the Transtheoretical Model views change as an ongoing process rather than a single eventWhy understanding your emotional patterns and nervous system is a powerful part of transformationHow your relationship with yourself is the most crucial piece of creating changeWhy your environment matters more than willpower when it comes to lasting change You can read the full show notes here. Giving back doesn't just change someone else's life–it changes yours too. When you make an impact on the lives of others, you often walk away with something just as meaningful. In this conversation, I'm joined by Lisa Stender, COO of Feed My Starving Children. The organization has provided billions of nutritious meals to children around the world through volunteers, and after volunteering myself, I wanted to share their mission with you. Lisa gives us a behind-the-scenes look at how Feed My Starving Children is helping communities overcome hunger and build pathways toward long-term stability one meal at a time. While access to food, education, and resources differs around the world, we are all connected by our humanity. Whether you're looking for a simple way to make an impact or you want to experience the benefits of volunteering for yourself, this episode will leave you inspired by what can happen when you give back to your community and to those around the world. Because service transforms both the people receiving help and the people offering it. Let's dive in! 244. Progress Not Perfection: Lessons from a Sobriety Journey with Jensen Rapp
2026/07/01
One day at a time, one practice at a time, one decision at a time. That’s how you create the life you want. There’s no shortcut, whether you’re changing your relationship to your work, communicating better in your relationships, or on a sobriety journey. This episode is a reminder that you can do it. Today, I'm excited to have a guest from my past. I recently reconnected with Jensen Rapp, whom I hadn't seen in years, because he published a workbook to help people begin and stay on a sobriety journey. He's here to share his story and the practices that have helped him maintain 15 years of sobriety after 16 years of drinking every day. What we talk about in this episode doesn’t just apply to alcoholism. If you’ve experienced any type of addiction, or you’ve become aware of certain habits that are keeping you from living your healthiest, most fulfilling life, this is for you. No matter what your struggle is, making a change comes down to so many of the same principles you’ll hear Jensen talk about. We explore how you can make decisions that are in your best interests, truly be with yourself in the good, the bad, and the ugly, and support yourself in your growth through it all. There is hope and possibility in any situation you’re facing right now. No matter how long you’ve done something, no matter how deep you are, there is always the opportunity for change and support to help you get there. Let’s dive in. What you’ll learn: How to find your “X-factor” and think about what your life would look like without itHow to handle your emotions when they come back after being numb for so longSeveral daily practices to help you process your emotions and be more present in your lifeThe “think twice” philosophy that Jensen practices every day to live with more intentionWhy it’s important that you don’t make the decision to change until you feel ready You can read the full show notes here. About Jensen Rapp Jensen Rapp is an artist and author. He is originally from Utah and currently lives in New Orleans. He has an AA degree in art, and is a Certified Graphic Designer. He plays drums and produced a short film with his father. He has 15 years of sobriety and is 47 years old. If you've been wondering whether your business will ever really get off the ground, or sometimes feel like you're the only one struggling, this conversation is for you. In this episode, I talk to my friend and colleague Jennie Lakenan about overcoming fear, building a business, and continuing to move forward even when life feels messy. We also discuss life balance, how Jennie approached growing her family while being the primary breadwinner, and why progress often comes from moving forward even when you don’t feel completely ready. Whether you're facing a fear, contemplating a big decision, or trying to grow your business without expecting too much of yourself, Jennie's journey will remind you that small steps can add up more than you imagine. What you’ll learn: How Jennie made the decision to pursue her business full-time while raising young childrenWhy an element of trust or faith is essential when making decisions and how it can look different for everyoneHow Jennie worked through her fear of driving without expecting herself to overcome it all at onceWhy the “go big” approach isn’t always the right choice for sustainable business growthPractical business advice to help you clarify your messaging and let go of perfection You can read the full show notes here. 242. Nervous System Regulation Doesn't Need to be Complicated with Dr. Kathleen Kelley
2026/06/03
When people think about stress management, it’s often through the lens of “getting rid of stress.” But stress itself isn’t the problem, and in many ways, it actually helps move us forward. The problem is staying stuck in stress all day long without giving your body moments to recover. Learning how to bring yourself back to center before overwhelm takes over is essential, and it starts with nervous system regulation practices you can easily do every day. My guest today is Dr. Kathleen Kelley, a professor of physical therapy, board-certified neurological clinical specialist, certified yoga and meditation teacher, and life coach. She draws on her extensive experience and education in her coaching practice, helping busy clinicians and high-achieving professionals use simple regulation tools to feel more grounded, calm, and in control of their nervous systems. In this episode, we discuss Dr. Kelley’s many practical nervous system regulation techniques, why stress release matters more than avoiding stress altogether, and the connection between regulation, emotions, and creating intentional change in your life. This conversation is an invitation to notice how often you give yourself moments of pause, care, and reconnection throughout the day, and to consider how you may be able to give yourself more. The key to a more spacious life is practicing these small moments of regulation and self-connection one day at a time. Let’s get started! What you’ll learn: Simple nervous system regulation tools and techniques that can be used on the flyWhy nervous system regulation happens through small moments of reconnecting with yourself throughout the dayHow taking care of yourself helps you feel better while also modeling regulation for othersThe neuroscience behind why dysregulation cuts you off from clear thinkingHow manifesting works as a combination of attention, intention, and aligned action that primes the nervous system You can read the full show notes here. About Dr. Kathleen Kelley Dr. Kelley is a professor of physical therapy at Quinnipiac University. She has taught neurologic rehabilitation, balance, falls, and vestibular dysfunction. Currently, she teaches both gross anatomy and neuroanatomy. Dr. Kelley received her BS in physical therapy from the University of Connecticut, her MS in neurology from Boston University, and her Doctorate in education from the University of Sarasota. She is also a board-certified neurological clinical specialist (emeritus), certified yoga and meditation teacher, and a certified Life Coach. Dr. Kelley’s passion for neurology, brain health, wellness, and self-care led her to dive deeply into the neuroscience of stress, stress management, and best practices for brain health. Dr. Kelley applies modern neuroscience to develop practical tools for regulating the nervous system for both educators and clinicians. When not teaching, you can find Dr. Kelley on her yoga mat, walking her beloved rescue dog Corkey, or knitting while watching reruns of Star Trek. 241. Your Story Matters: The power of being seen and heard with Matt Kjar
2026/05/20
Excellent coaching helps people understand themselves, feel their emotions, recognize patterns, and create meaningful change in their lives. But how do coaches communicate the depth of their work in a way that actually reaches people? What does it really mean to be seen and heard beyond simply posting content or recording videos? In this episode, I’m talking with Emmy Award-winning video producer Matt Kjar about video storytelling, ethical marketing, and how to tell better stories. Matt has worked in television and video production for more than 20 years, including reality television, documentaries, commercials, and Olympic coverage. After he discovered coaching and experienced its impact firsthand, he began using video storytelling to help coaches build trust and create a deeper connection with the people they serve. Matt’s understanding of the technical side of storytelling and how coaches create transformation changes everything when it comes to marketing for coaches. He knows that the most effective storytelling isn’t just about polished marketing, but staying aligned with your values and being confident while sharing your message. Video storytelling can be a powerful bridge between coaches and the people seeking their support, helping coaches communicate not just what they do, but who they are. Let’s dive in! What you’ll learn: Why video storytelling goes far beyond camera quality or microphone levelsHow ethical marketing and the intention behind your content matter so muchWhy coaches have to learn to see and trust themselves before showing up for othersHow to access the ability to be seen and heard on deeper and deeper levelsHow storytelling helps coaches connect with the people who need their work most You can read the full show notes here. About Matt Kjar Matt Kjar helps coaches and entrepreneurs make videos that change business and lives. He began his video and film production journey in front of the camera, as a child actor. He soon realized that the ones who really make the magic happen are behind the camera, so he decided to focus on making magic. He’s had the opportunity to interview A-list celebrities during the Sundance Film Festival, work internationally with the Olympics through 11 Games (He just got back from Italy), and has 2 Emmys from a story focused docu-follow series. Matt is most passionate about helping people change their lives which lead him to become a certified Life Coach. He wants to help you (as Steve Job’s said) put a ding in the universe. 3 fun facts about Matt: He is the 7th of 8 children. He was his high school mascot “Wally the Wildcat,” and could do a roundoff-back-flip with the massive mascot head. He and his wife sold everything they owned and traveled around the US with their four children for a year. 240. You Can Stop Doing Too Much
2026/05/06
How much space exists between the busy moments in your day? Do you have space in the morning to start your day in a way that feels intentional and grounded? Is there space to decompress, reconnect, and actually experience the kind of deep rest you need at the end of your day? These are the questions I invite you to sit with in this episode. Whether you feel resistance or a longing for something different as you think about them, your answer may help you see how doing too much has become your norm. This pattern impacts your life balance more than you realize, but a better quality of life is possible—and you’re allowed to have it. If you are someone who overworks, overdoes, and feels the pressure to constantly take care of everything, I want you to consider what could change if you allowed yourself to lay down even a fraction of what you think is your responsibility. What would shift if you made space just to take care of you? When your mental, physical, and emotional needs are not being met, it becomes impossible to show up fully in your life. But when you take even a small step toward giving yourself the space and time that you need, you gain clarity and the ability to move forward with creating the life, business, and relationships you want. Let’s dive in. What you’ll learn: Why doing too much becomes a pattern for high-achieving womenHow my own recent experiences led me to realize I needed more space in my lifeWhy taking more space and downtime for yourself can feel scaryHow honoring your emotional needs allows the best parts of you to shineWhy making even a little more space in your life is a powerful step toward more peace You can read the full show notes here.
