Sunday Sept 27th 7am (pst) / 10am (est)  LIVE-Stream Bible Study on Sunday Mornings... The church cannot appoint men as elders, pastors, or overseers if their lives and households already look like the false teachers Paul warns about in 1 Timothy and Titus. Biblical qualifications for church leadership are not abstract ideals. They are the practical test Timothy and Titus had to use before anyone was left in office. In this Bible study, we look at why a man must be able to teach the trustworthy word, silence those who contradict sound doctrine, and manage his own household well. If the local church ignores those lists, families get upset, consciences get seared, and the faith is shipwrecked. If the church uses them, it becomes the ordered household of God that actually upholds the truth it professes. Scripture in this teaching: 1 Timothy 1:19; 1 Timothy 3:1–15; 1 Timothy 4:1–2; Titus 1:5–11. What this episode covers: Why elder qualifications exist to protect the church, not to create a boys' club. How a man's household reveals whether he can care for the household of God. Why "able to teach" includes refuting those who contradict the gospel. How false teachers shipwreck faith while qualified shepherds guard it. If this helped you think more biblically about pastors, elders, and church leadership, subscribe for more verse-by-verse Bible teaching. Which qualification do churches ignore most often today?
