Has the Bank of England lost the inflation plot, again?
2024/02/23
Find out what’s really going on in this week’s news in review, with Nigel Farage…
https://fortuneandfreedom.com
When it comes to inflation, who do you trust? The financial markets, or the Bank of England governor Andrew Bailey?
It’s a trick question, because the financial markets are just trying to second guess what the Bank of England governor is going to do next, whether right or wrong.
Will he cut interest rates as inflation and the economy turn south, as the markets are betting?
Or will he keep rates dangerously high because the recession is over before we even knew it began? That’s what Bailey is telling us, anyway…
It's a crucial question for investors, whose stocks are living off the central banks’ largess. But central banks can only open the monetary spigot to rescue stock markets if inflation is low enough.
Unfortunately, it’s turning back up in places like the UK and eurozone. Does that mean rate hikes are on the cards instead of rate cuts, as some central bankers Down Under are warning? And what would that mean for markets pricing in looser monetary policy?
In this video, I ask former investment banker John Butler, the investment director of Southbank Investment Research, who has it right – the market or the central banks?
We also unravel precisely how the central bankers might be walking into a trap of their own making…

The tide has turned on net zero
2024/02/09
Find out what’s really going on in this week’s news in review, with Nigel Farage…
https://fortuneandfreedom.com
The net zero dam has finally broken. It was struggling to hold back Europe’s farmers, German small businesses, unconnected wind and solar farms dotted across the UK’s countryside, unprofitable green energy companies and much of the Third World’s poor.
But they’ve all finally had enough. And the politicians are responding.
Especially across Europe, net zero policies are being delayed, reversed and even abandoned at an ever-increasing pace. Corporate leaders are speaking out about the implausibility of net zero policies and the lies of the past. Even government departments are delaying their net-zero plans.
In this video, Nigel Farage and Nick Hubble review the key policy reversals and analyse what happens next.
We also give a dishonourable mention to the next big green energy boondoggle.

How will immigration change politics?
2024/02/06
Find out what’s really going on in this week’s news in review, with Nigel Farage…
https://fortuneandfreedom.com
The first time I met Nigel Farage, he kept talking about immigration. It was a bit awkward, to be honest. I’m more pro-immigration than Nigel – it’s probably our biggest difference of opinion.
So, I decided to avoid the topic in Fortune & Freedom. I mean, there was a pandemic going on at the time – nobody could travel, let alone migrate…
What happened next was a good reminder why we listen to Nigel, even when he’s talking about something that’s not even on our minds at the time…
Immigration has surged to become the dominant political issue in all of the countries that I follow the news in. Voters are now supporting political parties and leaders they never would’ve considered in the hope that it’ll stem the spiking immigration rates.
For those of us who have seen this sequence of events happen on so many topics and so many times before, from Gordon Brown’s plan to sell Britain’s gold to Brexit to the European exchange rate mechanism to debanking, the question now is: what is Nigel saying will happen next?
Are governments going to get a grip on immigration? Or will voters elect unpredictable up-start political parties and politicians to carry out their demands on immigration… and implement other more concerning policies while they’re at it?

Wind energy racket exposed at last
2024/02/02
Find out what’s really going on in this week’s news in review, with Nigel Farage…
https://fortuneandfreedom.com
I’ve been warning about wind energy for years. But yesterday’s exposé from Bloomberg was a surprise to even Nigel Farage and I. You won’t believe what wind power producers have been up to, at your expense.
And if Siemens Energy Chairman Joe Kaeser told The Telegraph, “Every transformation comes at a cost and every transformation is painful. And that’s something that the energy industry and the public sector - governments - don’t really want to hear.” Then are governments accurately anticipating the cost of the energy transition?
And if they aren’t, what will the true costs be?
And if they’re unaffordable, what are we going to do?
If you take a step back, you’ll begin to realise what’s really going on here…
Wind energy is just a racket wrapped up in a green parcel.
This is precisely what happens when you are not allowed to question the consensus on something like green energy. This is something Nigel Farage doesn’t exactly shy away from however he might be lampooned for it. For years, he told us wind energy would disappoint.
But now, even the German Greens Party is having second thoughts.
Find out what’s gone so dreadfully wrong in our energy system and what could happen next in this video with Nigel Farage…

What does the US presidential race look like from the inside?
2024/01/26
The radioactive revolution has begun
2024/01/19
What connects these three global news stories?
All around the world, the public is increasingly turning on net zero and attempts to cut emissions. In Germany, farmers even took to the streets to oppose the latest policies.
Second, the failure of the green energy dream has become apparent, with power grid managers either turning to coal or asking users to cut energy demand in Alberta, Tennessee, Australia, the UK and Germany.
And third, the boom in nuclear power and uranium, which is soaring in price as governments come out with plans to ramp up nuclear’s share of the energy supply.
These three stories are all part of the same trend. One you can profit from.
Find out what it is in this week’s review…
Nuclear horse and cart won’t save the EU now
2024/01/12
While governments around the world renew and expand their commitments to nuclear power at an ever-increasing pace, the UK government is busy making sure it has access to nuclear fuel as well.
But will safe, affordable, clean and secure nuclear power come too late to save the politicians who have finally seen the light? Nigel Farage reckons that the misguided green policies of past years could trigger a political reckoning in 2024 to rival 2016…
Will 2024 be the great monetary pivot?
2023/12/15
As you’ll see in this week’s video, it’s a change of personnel.
With Nigel still on his way out of the “jungle” and Nick on paternity leave, it was time to get a couple ring-ins to fill the void.
Good news is that I (Sam) and John Butler never shy away from jumping on camera and discussing all things market-related.
And this week, well, it’s a doozy!
The US Federal Reserve has signalled that rate cuts are on the cards, and soon. If so, you can expect the Bank of England to be hot on their heels.
The market already spiked on this “monetary pivot” so the big question remains: is this the start of the next big market “melt up” or are what they’re saying and what’s really happening in the economy two very different things?
We unpack it all in this week’s week in review.
Nigel Farage goes walkabout just as immigration steals the show
2023/12/01
It’s been a busy week in politics and the financial markets. The immigration debate being the dominant story in a long list of countries around the world. Funnily enough, that’s just what Nigel Farage predicted when I first met him in 2020.
We also talked about investing in gold, which is now back above $2,000. But why?
How ironic that Nigel is off galivanting around the Australian jungle while his predictions are coming true. Should we vote him out to get him back where he belongs?
Find out from our tech expert, Sam Volkering, in this week’s review…
Autumn Statement or Black Friday sale spruiker?
2023/11/24
To discover how you could harness the power of artificial intelligence in your investment decisions, with the help of Sam Volkering, https://subscribe1.southbankresearch.com/X981ZB28
With Nigel Farage digesting all sorts of things in the Australian jungle, it fell to our tech and crypto expert Sam Volkering to explain the madness gripping politics and elections around the world. Or should I call it an outbreak of common sense?
That’s certainly not what you could call the Autumn Statement. In fact, Sam found it difficult to tell the difference between the Chancellor of the Exchequer and a Black Friday sale spruiker. When it comes to the much-vaunted tax cuts, all is not quite what it seems…
We also pick up Nigel’s mantle to discuss the latest bizarre behaviour of the banksters. You won’t believe what their Australian cousins are up to with their own de-banking scandal…
And if you’ve been wondering whether governments are as responsible for our inflationary outbreak as they were for the pandemic, you’ll find out in this week’s review…
I’m a Chinese property investor… get me out of here!
2023/11/17
Inflation statistics out of the UK and US both came in below expectations. But is that good news or bad?
Consumers might be rejoicing that prices have slowed their ascent, but aren’t higher interest rates only adding to the cost-of-living pain?
In China, a return to outright deflation is definitely bad news. But why, and could the consequences reach investors in the UK?
The Germans have got themselves into a legal bind that only threatens to make their energy crisis even worse. A return to nuclear power remains the elephant in the room and only the leader of the German opposition has finally spotted it. Does this mean nuclear will finally get the nod from Europe’s last “Nein!”?
Find out the answers to all these questions, and more, from our Investment Director John Butler…
It’s all about the money… which is shrinking
2023/11/10
For the first time since the 1920s, the UK money supply is outright shrinking. When Nigel Farage was first starting out in the City, everyone was focused on it because central bankers made policy decisions around it.
More recently, the focus has been elsewhere. But should it be when, historically, a shrinking money supply portends a deep recession ahead, not only in the UK but around the world?
Germany and much of Europe are already in recession. And no economy is being helped by the headlong push toward net zero policies that threaten the health of the energy sector and, by extension, the viability of the entire economy.
Find out more about Nigel’s thoughts on these and other topics in today’s video.
