Inflation: The Silent Killer Of Wealth
2021/09/28
In this episode of the show, your hosts Shane Hyland and Gareth Shears talk about inflation. Inflation is the rate at which prices are rising - if the cost of a £1 jar of jam rises by 5p, then jam inflation is 5%. It applies to services too. Britain's consumer prices rise by 3.2% year-on-year, the highest annual inflation rate since March 2012 Over time, inflation can reduce the value of your savings, because prices typically go up in the future. While you haven't actually lost money, you end up with a smaller net worth because inflation eats into your purchasing power. Inflation is a market force that is impossible to completely avoid. But by planning for it and putting a strong investment strategy in place, you might be able to help minimize the impact of inflation on your savings and long-term financial plans. In this episode Shane and Gareth share:  What is inflation UK’s latest inflation rate How does inflation affect investments & savings How can you plan for inflation How to defend your wealth against inflation Having worked with hundreds of clients, On The Up Curve is a podcast that dives into business plans, goals, financial tactics and life hacks of successful, entrepreneurial creators and thought leading influencers. Should You Have Insurance?
2021/06/29
In this episode of the show your hosts Shane Hyland and Gareth Shears discuss a national paper over the weekend that ran a story of not recommending having a life insurance policy. One of the points that came through in that article is maybe it’s just a waste of money and it'll never pay out. Given that none of us knows what’s around the corner, it’s very important to have financial protection in place. And, of course, COVID-19 has been a timely reminder of this. Life insurance is a product designed to protect your loved ones’ finances should you pass away (or be diagnosed with a terminal illness) during the term of the policy, although we obviously would rather not think about it, it's crucial to make sure your dependants are covered should you no longer be around to support them. In this episode Gareth and Shane share:  The importance of having an insurance policy Building a solid financial plan What is income protection insurance Importance of knowing your numbers so you can adequately protect you’re your business How to be specific about what covers your needs and your lifestyle Having worked with hundreds of clients, On The Up Curve is a podcast that dives into business plans, goals, financial tactics and life hacks of successful, entrepreneurial creators and thought leading influencers.  For further information on the subjects covered today or to reach out to your hosts Gareth and Shane head to https://www.sanfp.co.uk/
