We are so honored and excited to have Kristen in the studio with us. We had a great time talking with this intelligent and well-educated woman about life, people and feelings. Here is a summary in her own words:  My various careers have made zero sense on paper. I went to undergrad for creative writing, and then did a 180 degree turn and decided that I'd go back to school and become...a barber?! And yet, it all makes perfect sense. Well, at least to me. I love stories. I love people. I love making people feel good about themselves inside and out. I am a sex therapist now and I fully believe if I hadn't been with my clients through their many tales of sex, dating, partying, graduating, learning, growing, and becoming, I might never have been the sex therapist I am today. Some of my former barber clients still reach out to me to tell me about their lives, which I am so happy and humbled by. Cutting hair has been a lifeline and an amazing teacher.

If you know, you know. Hair stylists have such unique relationships with their clients, and that becomes abundantly clear when something happens to them. In this episode, Karie shares her experience losing a beloved client and going to her memorial where she was not greeted with the warmest reception. We break this down and eventually have a laugh about it (of course!).
