Our time in the word this week takes us to Luke 19:41-44. Jesus weeps over the spiritual condition of Israel. Jesus sees their need and comes to provide for them, but they reject His offer. This week we will catch a glimpse of the deep love God has for His people and His desire to bring peace to the whole world.  If you have any questions about this podcast, would like to share a testimony or prayer request or would simply like to know more about following Jesus, we would love to hear from you. In Luke 19:28–40, we witness Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem as He rides into the city on a colt, fulfilling prophecy and revealing Himself as the promised King. As the crowd praises God and celebrates the coming of the King, the Pharisees demand that Jesus silence His followers. This passage challenges us to recognize who Jesus truly is, boldly proclaim His greatness, and understand that the King deserves our praise, even when others refuse to acknowledge Him. In Luke 19:11–27, Jesus reminds us that while we wait for our King to return, we are called to faithfully use what He has entrusted to us. One day, the King will return and we will give an account of our faithfulness. This week we will look at a very memorable story in Luke 19:1-10, the transformation of Zacchaeus, “The We-little Man” from Jericho. In Luke 18:35-43, a blind beggar encounters Jesus and refuses to be silenced, crying out in faith for mercy. This powerful story teaches us about recognizing Jesus, persevering when others try to discourage us, and trusting Him to meet us in our deepest places of need. Jesus again predicts His death - Luke 18:31–34: Jesus clearly tells His disciples that He is going to Jerusalem to suffer, die, and rise again, yet they struggle to understand what He is telling them. This passage reveals both the certainty of Christ’s sacrifice and the disciples’ inability to grasp God’s plan until it was fulfilled. In this teaching from Luke 18:18–30, we examine the encounter between Jesus and the rich young ruler and discover that following Jesus requires more than simply wanting eternal life - it requires being willing to surrender whatever stands between us and Him. In this week's message, Pastor Rob looks at the short passage of scripture in Luke 18:25-17. This passage is much more than a story about Jesus blessing children. In it, Jesus reveals the humble, dependent faith that must characterize every true follower of Christ and shows us what it really means to receive the Kingdom of God. In this week's message, Pastor Rob will look at another parable of Jesus in Luke 18:9-14. Jesus tells this parable for “those who trusted in themselves for their righteousness.”  We will look at what it means to have a self-righteous heart and a humble heart, and which one is important to God. Jesus reveals to His disciples how one should come to God - in humility.  If you have any questions about this podcast or would like to share a testimony or prayer request, we would love to hear from you. What does Jesus really teach about persistent prayer in Luke 18:1-8? Is this parable about asking God over and over until He gives in, or is it about trusting Him while we wait? Discover how Jesus calls His followers to persevere in prayer, remain faithful, and live with confident expectation of His return.  If you have any questions about this podcast or would like to share a testimony or prayer request, we would love to hear from you. This week we return to our study of Luke and we will look at the second half of this passage, Luke 17:20-37, but we will focus on verses 33-37 this week. We were left with the statement from Jesus last week, “Remember Lot's wife…” - this week we will be left with the statement: “Where the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.”  If you have any questions about this podcast or would like to share a testimony or prayer request, we would love to hear from you. If you could ask Jesus one question about the future, what would it be?  Jesus answers two different audiences in our passage today: the Pharisees and then His disciples. The main emphasis is not on satisfying curiosity or about prophecy but on living faithfully in light of the certainty of Christ's coming.
