Where obnoxious people relax, expecting to enjoy themselves and let their fat hang over their waistbands. This theme park idea also puts these people in a rat maze equivalent, where they are forced to stick to the safe routes. Putting people in a captive environment, making them vulnerable, non-suspecting and unprepared is a great time to f with them. It was such a good idea, Michael wrote it twice! Westworld focuses on a theme park comprised of three different experiences, or worlds. We have the Medieval world, Roman world and Westworld. Westworld is where the majority of our film takes place and it’s based on a frontier town in the 1800s. Paul asks... Is Gran Turismo worth watching? How the hell does this happen? A movie based on a racing simulator. Not a video game, but a racing simulator. Now I know that Gran Turismo is technically a video game, but it never had a story, it was just about winning races and buying stuff to get better cars so you could win more races and buy more stuff. There is no other gameplay than that. But I never once thought that the game had such a compelling story that this should be a film! It’s a fact of life that things age. I, too, am ageing, quite well I think but yes, all things age, and entertainment ages as well. Rewatching something from just a few years ago may make you question your own sanity and life choices. Something that seemed so poignant at the time, something you connected with back then, now seems like a complete disappointment. Gangster No. 1 tries to add a uniquely English charm to the whole Gangster movie genre. The film covers the rise of a London criminal gang with its roots set in the 1960s. Originally a stage play, the movie adaptation was tarnished with some controversy due to the original writers, Louis Mellis and David Scinto’s screenplay being poked and fiddled with, and the casting choices being dictated to them by the producers. In the end, they said f it and left, citing artistic differences. Both writers later went on to get the film, Sexy Beast, made instead. There are times... only a few times, mind you, where a piece of media, whether it be a film or TV show, grabs and squeezes you by the scrotum and holds you captive till you've finished watching. Boiling Point is high tension, anxiety inducing and difficult to watch film. If you've ever worked in a kitchen, then this film might make you reach for the antidepressants or start banging your head repeatedly against a wall. You may even reach for the bottle of prosecco your partner has been saving for Christmas and down it in one.
