When Suffering Doesn't Make Sense: How Absurd!
2026/09/28
Dean Elliott teaches from Job 11–14, focusing on Job’s testimony of what has happened to him and how it troubles his friends—especially Zophar, who seems determined to explain and control Job’s situation. Zophar accuses Job of mocking, but Job responds by pointing out that Zophar is mocking both him and, even worse, God. Four applications emerge from today’s passages: -What is your personal relationship with God like? -What sin may be creating barriers in your communication with God? -God will remove every false hope that keeps you from relying fully on Him. -In the end, God’s glory will make everything we endure worthwhile.
When Suffering Doesn't Make Sense: "I Don't Get It"
2026/09/21
David denHartog teaches from Job 8:1–10:22. Job does not understand why he is suffering so deeply. His friend Bildad assumes that Job’s troubles are the result of sin, but Bildad fails to recognize the incomprehensible wisdom and sovereignty of God. In chapters 9 and 10, Job moves from recognizing that he cannot defend himself before God to expressing his desire to bring his case directly to God. When we do not understand why things happen as they do, we must: 1. Walk by faith when we lack sight. 2. Rest in God’s love when we lack answers. View Sermon Notes Here. Additional Scripture References: Isaiah 55:8-9; Romans 11:33; Proverbs 20:24; Luke 13:2-5; Hebrews 7:25; Hebrews 11:36-39; Romans 8:34-39
When Suffering Doesn't Make Sense: When Logic Fails...
2026/09/14
Kevin Bentley teaches from Job 4–7. Job has been expressing his pain to his friend and to God. His friend Eliphaz responds with cold logic, which cannot heal a broken heart. We will examine the four ways Eliphaz responds to Job in chapters 4–5. Then, in chapters 6–7, we will see how Job responds to Eliphaz and how his response reflects his relationship with the Lord. Job is also a foreshadow of the One who would suffer for the sake of the world: Jesus Christ. View Sermon Notes HERE. Additional Scripture References: Job 2:13
When Suffering Doesn't Make Sense: Why Bother?
2026/09/08
Dean Elliott covers Chapters 2 and 3 of Job, answering the question, “Why bother” staying true to God in difficult circumstances. Job’s testing reveals the importance of our testimony to God’s faithfulness in our trials, showing that even if He does not save us from tragedy, He is worthy of our love not just because of what He does for us, but because of who He is.
When Suffering Doesn't Make Sense: "Regardless"
2026/09/01
David denHartog begins a new series in the book of Job. Job’s suffering made no sense to him, and he never learned why he had to endure it in this life. This life includes both deserved and undeserved suffering that many must endure. The book of Job speaks to undeserved suffering and reveals who God is in the midst of it. But regardless of his undeserved suffering, Job chose to worship God through it all. Additional Scripture References: Philippians 3:10; Ecclesiastes 9:12 View Sermon Notes HERE.
The Anatomy of a Godly Decision
2026/08/24
Kevin Bentley teaches from Proverbs 3:5–6, where Solomon instructs his son to trust in the Lord with a surrendered heart. This sermon explores godly decision-making, the danger of self-reliance, full surrender to God, and the promise of a life without aimless wandering. Additional Scripture References: Romans 12:2; Ephesians 5:15-17 View Sermon Notes Here.
Side By Side?
2026/08/18
Dean Elliott teaches from Judges 6:25–8 that idolatry—worshiping God alongside Baal—was causing the people pain. God calls us to worship Him alone, not side by side with anything else, whether it be another god, a person, an object, or anything we give more time, energy, and effort to than Him. To fight this, we must worship God wholeheartedly and publicly declare war on whatever competes with our worship of Him.
Before You Speak: Heart Check
2026/08/10
Kevin Bentley teaches from Luke 6:43–45. Bad communication is an overflow of what’s in one’s heart. This cannot be fixed through behavior modification, because the issue lies within the heart. We’ll see how honest self-examination, guarding your heart, and replenishing it with truth lead to real heart transformation—not just temporary behavioral change. View Sermon Notes Here. Additional Scripture References: Psalm 139:23; Proverbs 18:2; Proverbs 4:23; Matthew 12:43-45
Slaves, Companions, Partners?
2026/08/03
Dean Elliott teaches from Judges 6. Those who conform to evil become enslaved by it. But God graciously responds when we misplace our worship, using pain to get our attention, refocus us on Him, and restore companionship with Him—the purpose for which mankind was created. Additional Scripture References: John 17:3
Standing In The Gap
2026/07/27
David denHartog teaches from James 5:16–20 and 1 Kings 18:41–45a. In today’s message, we see that God invites believers to stand in the gap through intercessory prayer for loved ones who are not walking with Jesus or are blinded to the truth. Ultimately, God alone changes hearts, but we will explore the kinds of prayers He hears and that are most effective. View Sermon Notes Here. Additional Scripture Reference: Psalm 66:18; Psalm 139:23; 1 John 1:9; Psalm 103:12; Hebrews 10:19
Transformed Lives means Transformed Talk
2026/07/20
Kevin Bentley teaches from Ephesians 4:29 in a topical message on how believers are called to communicate with one another. In Ephesians 4, Paul first calls believers to live a transformed life in Christ and then to let that transformed life shape their speech by using words that build others up, reflect God’s grace, and honor Him. Cultivating Joy
2026/07/13
Dean Elliott teaches from Philippians 3. In the New Testament, Jesus commands us to have joy, but joy doesn't just happen on its own, one must cultivate it. In this passage, we learn how believers can grow in joy by cleansing their hearts and shaping their expectations according to Christ. Additional Scripture References: 1 John 5:13
When God Always Says "Yes"
2026/07/07
David denHartog teaches from 1 John 5:11–15, exploring God’s promise to always say “yes” to certain prayers. In this message, we learn who receives this promise, why God grants it, what kinds of prayers He answers in this way, and how we can pray with that confidence. Additional Scripture References: Galatians 2:20; Romans 8:9; Galatians 5:20; Matthew 6:9; 1 John 5:3; Hebrews 7:25
The Anatomy of Healing
2026/06/29
Kevin Bentley teaches a topical message on physical healing from Romans 8 and James 5. He lays foundational truths about God’s heart behind healing and also explains how to pray in faith for healing—both for yourself and for others. View Sermon Notes Here Additional Scripture References: John 9:3; 1 Corinthians 11:30; Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24; Psalm 103:3; 1 John 1:9; Psalm 139:14; Proverbs 17:22
You Have Options.
2026/06/22
Dean Elliott teaches from 2 Timothy 2:8–19. In contrast to last week’s stand-alone message on hell and the Great White Throne judgment for non-believers, he explains that believers will be resurrected and appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ, where their lives will be evaluated. At that judgment, believers will either receive rewards or lose rewards based on how they lived. The sermon emphasizes that life is ultimately better and more meaningful when believers obey and live their lives for the Lord. Additional Scripture References: 1 Peter 4:17; 2 Corinthians 5:9
