Actions available - Nora gave her final performance of the night. Actions available Round three: Actions available - JC's third song, "Where the Green Grass Grows," wouldn't play — the Actions available file showed as incompatible with no audio. MaccessHub for VoiceOver, KZZP Radio Nostalgia & Halloween Plans (Vision Cast 2026.09.30)
2026/10/03
Recorded live on September 30, 2026, this Vision Cast has Rita in the host chair, opening from Guadalupe, Arizona with her electrifying guitar intro, and the best news of the night comes first: Rachel is back after a week under the weather. The two trade Rebel Rita and Rebel Rachel nicknames before the roll call brings in JC, George, Preston, Nora, Donald, Phillip, and Salvis on the audio controls. Phillip calls in from a train platform, thoroughly out of breath from the stairs but triumphantly not late. Preston opens the announcements with a salute to Donald, whose Music Mayhem Marathon filled the whole weekend with shows pulled from the archive. Tuning in across Friday and Saturday, Preston caught old episodes with friends guest co-hosting, and was tickled to hear George and Rachel broadcasting over Skype back in the day, part of what George calls the Echo Project. As Donald points out, half the joy of the older shows is hearing the technology of the era right along with them. Then comes the calendar, and it is a full one. The final Vision Cast Music Mayhem hybrid show of 2026 lands on October 23. The Vision Cast Halloween party is recorded on October 28 , and the last KSRN show of the year follows on October 30. The hybrid returns on January 8, 2027 . Christmas Wonderland Radio switches on November 1 , and George and Rachel will co-host a Halloween-into-Christmas show across both stations. The talent show on October 14 is shaping up too, with Nora sending in her performances, Donald packing a zip file of songs, and Rachel hosting the whole thing from her Mac. Rachel also updates the room on the KSRN interview with Sriram from the Lumin voice-email app, postponed once when he was ill and again when she was, and now being put back on the books. JC then takes the floor for the demo of the week: MaccessHub, a free and open-source macOS menu-bar app from developer masonasons, available on GitHub. Built with VoiceOver users in mind, it brings back event sounds, key clicks and spoken system information, adds audio-device switching on the fly, and ships with soundpacks, automatic updates and a launch-at-login option. Best of all, it folds a pile of older Hammerspoon accessibility scripts into one native app, so nobody has to go anywhere near Xcode to get their sounds back. Rachel answers with another of her AI-generated comedy songs, and George is once again the target: a road-trip saga about a bathroom emergency that goes about as undignified as these things can go. The room does not recover quickly. Rita brings the night home with radio nostalgia, remembering KZZP in Phoenix, the Top 40 station she grew up on, and its golden era from 1985 to 1989 under program director Guy Zapoleon. She has been part of a KZZP history group online for four years now, and still finds herself reminiscing over what radio used to be. JC closes with a hope for an October jam session, and a promise to finally introduce the team to Ariel, a songwriter who can write a song on the spot. Old radio, new tools, and a family back at full strength. Recorded 2026-09-30. Final length 1 hour 42 minutes 16 seconds, mastered to -14 LUFS. Sweet Child Riff Lore, Van Halen Tapping & JC on Christian Radio (Vision Cast 2026.09.23)
2026/10/03
Recorded live on September 23, 2026, this Vision Cast has JC in the host chair while Rachel rests up. She is under the weather this week, and the whole family, Nora and Katie especially, sends her love and wishes for a quick recovery. Around the table: Rita, Shaun Oliver, Preston, George, Nora, Katie, Donald, Phillip, and Salvis on the audio controls. Shaun Oliver turns the opening stretch into a classic-rock history hour. He retells the legend behind the Sweet Child o' Mine riff, the one where Slash is just warming up his fingers until Axl Rose tells him to keep doing that thing, and a chart-topper grows out of it, with Rita placing its run at 1988. From there Shaun traces how Eddie Van Halen took inspiration from Jimmy Page and Led Zeppelin's Heartbreaker and turned two-hand tapping into his own signature, and the room pauses to remember Eddie. Then JC shares the proudest news of his week. He auditioned at Sound of Life, the Hudson Valley Christian radio station at soundoflife.org , and he brings two clips with him: one recorded in the studio, one captured straight off the air. In the aired piece, host Lisa Berry tells the story of Juan Carlos, a blind man of thirty-five whose doctors gave him almost no chance of survival when he was born and whose mother prayed anyway. Then JC's own voice comes through the speakers. The text messages started arriving the moment he left the building, from people who had heard his name on the radio. Juan Carlos's story lands hard with Rita, who remembers being given no more than a year to live, her parents warned about the excessive oxygen in her incubator. Blind people, she points out, have been outliving those first predictions ever since. The conversation moves into broadcast and accessible technology: the automation and cart systems humming behind a real radio studio, StationPlaylist, the braille display Shaun keeps beside him when he is on air, the 3D printer he is about to buy, and the tactile pieces JC got to hold at a friend's place, including a cube whose faces carry different dot patterns standing in for colours. A Beatles tangent follows, from the kazoo buried in Yellow Submarine to Here Comes the Sun, which sends Rita back to playing kazoo songs at ASGB in the spring of 1990. Looking ahead, talent show submissions are open and Preston says the show is only weeks away, JC will be singing Hotel California with his voice instructor, and Preston is off to hear a Central Pennsylvania duo at the Double Barrel Roadhouse with a promise to bring back a recording. The Music Mayhem Marathon takes over Super Hit Mix Radio all weekend long with George and Rachel at the helm, and Vision Cast now reaches listeners on both KSRN and Super Hit Mix. The night ends in the best possible way. A dear friend's daughter, Autumn Grace, arrived at four in the morning the day before, and the whole room celebrates her. Recorded 2026-09-23. Final length 1 hour 41 minutes 34 seconds, mastered to -14 LUFS.
iOS 27 VoiceOver Bugs, AI Image Descriptions & Suno Roast Songs (Vision Cast 2026.09.16)
2026/09/23
Recorded live on September 16, 2026, this Vision Cast puts Rachel, self-declared "Rebel Rachel," back in the host chair, with JC at her side and Rita happily returning to the fold. Preston, Donald, Nora, Katie, and Salvis on the audio controls round out the crew, George dials in by phone, and a surprise face from the past drops in mid-show. Donald opens on the mend from a bug sweeping through his church, sending well wishes to his friend June, and reports he has squashed the stream hiccups and Bluetooth gremlins over at Super Hit Mix Radio. Rachel then confesses the broadcasting disaster of the week: going live from her phone through the Backpack app, she stepped away for Madison's fresh pasta, accidentally closed the app on her return, and watched nearly two hours of her show vanish, then painstakingly rebuilt the whole thing from her saved clips history. With iOS 27 and macOS 27 barely two days old, the crew trades first impressions: VoiceOver users have complaints and JC notes a fix is slated for later in October, Rachel is wrestling a bug that traps her away from the home screen during calls, and the new Apple Intelligence image descriptions genuinely wow the family, reading a church fall-festival flyer down to the petting zoo and the bounce house. Then Rachel unleashes her Suno AI creations: a gloriously filthy country-rock anthem immortalizing the absent Phillip's "Doodles" legend, and, the moment George joins by phone, a wildly NSFW pop-punk roast in his honor, which George absorbs with a legendary "That's nice." Between the songs, the show gets its surprise: Shaun Oliver, Rachel's friend from a radio bunker back in 2015, appears in the call for the first time, trading old stories and raspberry jokes, while Preston reports that Jonathan has reopened that very Phoenix bunker complete with a public server of the old archives. Looking ahead, Rachel announces the Music Mayhem Marathon arriving on KSRN in January, some schedule juggling to make it fit, and the Fall Talent Show she hosts on October 14. Be there or be square. Old friends, new bugs, and songs nobody asked for but everybody needed. That is Vision Cast. Recorded 2026-09-16. Final length 1 hour 45 minutes 20 seconds, mastered to -14 LUFS.

Lumin CEO on Voice-First Email for the Blind, iOS 27 & a Radio Rebrand (Vision Cast 2026.09.09)
2026/09/17
Recorded live on September 9, 2026, this Vision Cast is a landmark one: JC hosts and welcomes special guest Sriram Ganesh, co-founder and CEO of Luminade, the San Francisco company behind Lumin, the voice-first email app for iPhone. Around him gather Rachel, George, Preston, Nolan, Donald, Phillip, Willow, Aaron, Veronica, Brittani, and Salvis on the audio controls, with Rita away this week. And yes, Rachel is the host formerly known as Stacey, a name change she shares with the family this very evening. Sriram tells the story behind Lumin: diagnosed with cone-rod dystrophy in his early thirties, the engineer turned his own frustration with screen-reader email into an AI voice assistant he describes as "think Siri, but way better." In a flawless live demo, Lumin reads his inbox aloud in a strikingly natural voice, drafts replies by dictation, summarizes attachments, and books a lunch straight into his calendar, no gestures, no menus, just conversation. The cast peppers him with questions: Lumin supports Gmail and Google Workspace today, the roadmap is driven by user votes with Google Calendar and Outlook leading the queue, and the app is free for everyone who signs up now, with early adopters aspired to stay free even after paid tiers arrive. Find it at trylumin.ai or search "Lumin - Talk to your email" on the App Store Big station news follows: with Rachel's new name, the station becomes the Kreative Synergy Radio Network, Kreative with a K, keeping the beloved KSRN call letters, with a fresh logo, updated schedule, and a SpeakPipe page so listeners worldwide can leave voice messages. Nolan reports strong progress running Windows 11 on the Accessible Virtual Machine, with a live demo coming soon, and JC shares a crisp recording of his buddy Dave Guzman playing the cajon through a PA system. With iOS 27 landing September 14, JC promises a what's-new bonus episode, and Rachel teases a fresh Suno AI demonstration of her own. The evening closes with birthday love for Gabby C, turning twenty, and Rachel's sister Madison, celebrating on Sunday. Voice-first computing, a rebrand with heart, and a family that keeps technology alive. Recorded 2026-09-09. Final length 1 hour 42 minutes 33 seconds, mastered to -14 LUFS.
AI Country Comedy, Mac Text-to-Speech Demo & ChatGPT Radio Magic (Vision Cast 2026.09.02)
2026/09/11
Recorded live on September 2, 2026, this Vision Cast has Stacey in the host chair, broadcasting through Backpack Studio, with JC, Rita, George, Donald, Preston, Phillip, Nora, Veronica, Aaron, and Salvis on the audio controls. The family opens by holding Phillip close after the loss listeners heard about last week: his mother Teresa passed away on Thursday afternoon , and Stacey and Donald have recorded a tribute show for KSRN filled with her favorite artists, with the air date to be announced. Phillip thanks the cast for their thoughts and prayers and shares that a joint memorial service is being planned for his mother and father. Then the tech engines start. Donald unveils his biggest Super Hit Mix Radio upgrade yet: with ChatGPT as his coding partner, he built listener-selectable genre streams, from country and R&B to smooth jazz and oldies, running through Cloudflare tunnels with no port forwarding and no DJ chatter. Preston, arriving fresh from burgers on his George Foreman grill, announces the on-demand Genre Spotlight Library and his trip to a state convention in Hershey this November. KSRN gets a schedule shake-up: Music Mayhem moves to Tuesday afternoons at 4 PM Pacific while George takes over Friday nights, and the station starts collecting general and holiday listener messages ahead of an October 7 test day, with the hotline at 513-993-9036 . The cast also votes on whether KSRN should become the "Crazy Spirit Radio Network" and overwhelmingly decides that Stacey stays in the name. Stacey strikes again in the AI-music department with a gleefully crude AI-generated country song roasting George and the gang's "doodles" inside jokes, and JC's randomness segment follows with a live demo of To Be Said Pro, a Mac text-to-speech app where he builds custom AI voices, Southern accent included, and exports them to audio files. Rita powers through a weekend cold, and next week brings a special guest: Pat Quinn from Lumen, the voice-email app, joins the show. Technology, grief, laughter, and radio dreams, all in one evening with the Vision Cast family. Recorded 2026-09-02. Final length 1 hour 46 minutes 2 seconds, mastered to -14 LUFS.
ToBe Said Demonstration
2026/09/03
we’re back with another bonus episode! This time, our podcast president demonstrates ToBe Said, a text to speech engine that works with the accessibility tools integrated into macOS. Enjoy!
Remembering Dolly Parton & Tim Curry, AI Songs & Retro Trivia (Vision Cast 2026.08.26)
2026/09/02
Recorded live on August 26, 2026, this Vision Cast gathers nearly the whole family. Rita hosts, joined by JC, George, Donald, Stacey, Willow, Nolan, Preston, Nora, Phillip, and Salvis running the playout system. The episode opens with tributes to two 80-year-old legends the world lost this week: country music queen Dolly Parton, remembered warmly by Rita, and screen icon Tim Curry, whose passing Phillip brings to the show. The mood lifts with an AI-generated music showcase played out by Salvis, from a merciless "Raiders Suck" parody roasting Phillip's beloved football team to two gospel-flavored anthems celebrating JC's 35th birthday with his church family, and an emo-rock West Coast friendship track from Nolan. On the tech side, Stacey explains how she plays the classic 90s trivia game You Don't Know Jack on modern Apple hardware using Shadow PC cloud gaming and Loopback audio routing, with a bonus gameplay episode in the works. Nolan's Technology and More, Nolan's brand-new podcast and YouTube channel, is officially live, and Donald has loaded Super Hit Mix Radio with a mountain of fresh EDM. Stacey's new Zoom Workplace Business line lets her help with hosting duties while Madison is away until November, and Willow returns after a long absence with a new name, sharing with George the news that the two of them are back together. Rita celebrates her mother's 63rd birthday with Costco pizza, hot wings, and a Dolly Parton cookbook recommendation. The show holds Phillip and his brothers close: his mother Teresa, ill since a stroke in 2020, passed away shortly after this episode was recorded. Rest in peace, Teresa. The cast also sends love to Nora as she steps back from the show to focus on life at home. From heartbreak to belly laughs in a single evening, this is Vision Cast at its most human: technology, music, faith, and a found family that shows up for each other. Recorded 2026-08-26. Final length 1 hour 59 minutes 16 seconds, mastered to -14 LUFS.
JC's Presidential Birthday Party, Suno Gospel Choir & Childhood Tapes (Vision Cast 2026.08.19)
2026/08/22
The crew rolls out the presidential treatment for JC's birthday, and for one night only, Stacey James takes the host chair ("I am the host here, and I call order in this court") while Salvis runs engineering. The fullest panel of the summer: Stacey, JC, George, Rita, Preston, Veronica with Aaron, Nora, Phillip, Donald, and Nolan Parish, back on the network. Knowing JC's faith and his Delight worship-team roots, Stacey builds him a full gospel church Happy Birthday Hymnal in Suno AI, booming preacher and full choir, played on behalf of the whole team, then follows it with a smooth R&B gospel tribute that JC says sounds "almost like Boyz II Men." Stacey's running check-in all night: "Are you crying yet, JC Doodles?" JC digitizes and plays two treasures from the family archive: a 1999 recording of eight-year-old JC working a button-powered Winnie the Pooh talking storybook, and a Christmas morning 1995 tape of tiny JC honking the horn of his brand-new magic steering wheel toy car until the whole family begged for mercy. The panel melts. Fresh from the day before, JC also recaps his horseback ride on Daisy, a big smooth-riding horse at the Winslow Horse Therapeutic Center, complete with an audio clip he converted with the Z-Edit app, snack-feeding the horses, and a teaser that Winslow runs horse riding shows in September. Veronica brings Aaron along and shares the news the panel has been hoping for: "We decided to get back together yesterday." The crew erupts. Later, Veronica takes the virtual stage with her acoustic guitar for a heartfelt live song. Nolan Parish is back on the network, announcing his technology show is returning to Spotify, iHeartRadio, and Apple Podcasts (with Audacy in his sights), then showing off his production chops with a karaoke-plus-instrumental cover of Owl City's "Fuzzy Blue Lights" built with Audio Hijack. George's verdict: "awesome job, that was perfect." Stacey also shares her Mac survival story: a failed home-folder update spirals into full recovery mode, complete erase, macOS reinstall, and a slow rebuild of every file and program, all while she's been helping Madison with baby Noah. The panel's sympathy is real. u In the crew corner, Rita debuts her new Logitech H540 headphones from Best Buy. Preston reports a George Foreman feast of pork tenderloins, chicken, and bacon (plus a strategic pizza and ice cream stockpile), and threatens to air George's legendary Spreaker-era bloopers on KSRN. Phillip delivers an over-the-top declaration of devotion to host Stacey, "to infinity and beyond." Nora leads the birthday well-wishes and the closing shout-outs. v Stacey lands the "keep technology alive, let your talent shine" signoff, and the whole panel piles into the most chaotic group rendition of the Doodles tag in show history, with Preston landing the final word: "and we still clean it up." Keep technology alive, let your talent shine. Recorded 2026-08-19. Hosted by Stacey James with Salvis engineering, on the VisionCast Network.
Nolan & Haylie Strike Back, Radio Farewell & Nora's Birthday Celebration (Vision Cast 2026.08.12)
2026/08/18
George takes the host chair for a packed house: Stacey, JC, Nolan, Preston, Haylie, Phil, Veronica, Donald, Nora, and Salvis in the engineer's seat. A night of "technology, randomness, fun, and who knows what else" - George's words - with two returning faces and one big radio-history moment. Haylie is back: after a rough patch and some air-clearing between friends, George dedicates the evening as Stacey and Haylie Appreciation Night, and Haylie is officially back on the team - despite an afternoon spent battling a partially flooded apartment. Nolan Parish announces the official comeback of Nolan's Technology and More. His new fully accessible production workflow runs on zEdit - the VoiceOver-friendly editor the crew has championed since its AppleVis App of the Month win - merging all his audio and video in one pass. Coming up: interviews with clients and staff of the Center for Growth and Independence in Michigan, on-the-ground audio from a recent softball event, and an invite-only, monitored email list for distribution. Nolan also shares a karaoke instrumental of Owl City's version of "Enchanted." Preston records radio history: Baltimore's longtime classic rock outlet 100.7 The Bay is shutting down after its sale to K-Love, and Preston is capturing the station's final sign-off - audio he'll feature on the Radio Connection Live podcast on YouTube. Full show archives live on the StoryCraze Network channel. Salvis debuts his custom AI-generated birthday song for Nightingale Nora (birthday August 8) - "every Nora tells a tale, you're a sweet nightingale" - and Nora immediately asks for it to join the Music Mayhem rotation. The George roast rolls on: Stacey unleashes a fresh batch of AI-generated parody roast tracks aimed squarely at George, the panel piles on with the classic "Doodles spilled the milk!" chants, and George caps the night by accidentally skipping Phil in the closing shout-outs - "George forgot Phil!" becomes the instant new running gag. JC's week: a fishing trip with friends, big music-lesson news - his longtime instructor Miss Ursula is leaving the New Windsor Music Academy, with Miss Amaya stepping in as the new voice instructor for JC and Maricela ahead of Winter Recital prep - plus church-family shout-outs: congratulations to Rachel on her upcoming wedding, and Gabby helping out at the Spanish service on August 30. Donald explains the sister-station flow between Super Hit Mix Radio and KSRN - shows replay across each other's schedules - plus an open call: want to host a show? Email Donald at [email protected] . And in the weather wars, Nolan has been under storms since Friday while Phil, calling in from California, wants his state's weather back: "Oh, so you guys have our rain! We want our rain!" Closing the way only Vision Cast can: "Keep technology alive, let your talent shine" - and remember, Doodles spilled the milk. Keep technology alive, let your talent shine. Recorded 2026-08-12. Hosted by George with Salvis engineering on the VisionCast Network.
DECtalk Voices Return to iPhone, KSRN Hits Audacy & eBook Builder Pro (Vision Cast 2026.08.05)
2026/08/09
Episode 358! JC is in the host chair with Salvis running the boards, joined by Rita, Preston, Donald, Nora, Veronica, and a bus-riding drop-in from Phil. Stacey is away this week, and the crew opens their hearts for her: Phil asks everyone to keep Stacey James and her family in their prayers as wildfires burn near Spokane, Washington. The retro gold of the night: JC discovers that a developer has ported the legendary DECtalk synthesizer to iOS as a standalone app (GitHub download, Android port too) and plays a live demo. Perfect Paul lives again on a modern iPhone, along with Beautiful Betty, Huge Harry, Frail Frank, Dr. Dennis, Kit the Kid, Uppity Ursula, Rough Rita, and Whispering Wendy. Preston flashes back to Perfect Paul reading the weather radio on his first Sony Walkman. Pure nostalgia for every longtime screen-reader user. Donald unveils Extreme eBook Builder Professional 3.0, his new Windows program for building e-books in Kindle, EPUB, and even standalone EXE formats from any text, Word, RTF, or HTML source. Fully menu-driven and screen-reader friendly with NVDA and JAWS, no mouse required. Retail price $297. KSRN keeps expanding: Preston reports the Crazy Stacey Radio Network got approved on the Audacy app and website just 24 hours before taping, plus new listings on Simple Radio, the radio-browser.info public directory, and MyTunerRadio. He is also registering for the NFB of Pennsylvania state convention in Hershey. In the accessible app corner, JC covers Earshot, a new podcast player app making waves in the blind community, and shares his experience testing Lumen, a voice-driven email app for visually impaired users. Plus the roadmap tease: iOS 27 lands in September, and JC plans a full demo of iOS 27 and the new Siri AI on a future episode. And Suno AI keeps surprising: on this week's NFB Access On podcast, Jonathan Mosen used Suno to build a song about the NFB 2026 convention, and JC shouts out his friend Andrea, who is releasing her own Suno-made songs on Apple Music. Music moments: JC plays a stereo recording from the end of the praise party at his Delight monthly meeting, and Nora's karaoke rendition of "Put on a Happy Face" gets new life with an instrumental track added by a friend she fondly calls "the guru." JC teases a possible duet with Gabby and Jaden next week. Rita shares a belated birthday visit from her cousin, who shares her June 2 birthday and spent his working in Florence. He visited with his wife bearing roses, balloons, and Rita's beloved Nutty Bars. Donald talks tilapia on Dave's Killer Bread with hot sauce, plus a Chili's run for ribs and white cheddar mac and cheese. Echo Grace updates: JC's mom officially became a church member last weekend. New Spanish-team additions Angela Martel, Gabby E., and John Santiago, who now directs the Spanish team. The June Night of Worship recording is up on the Echo Grace YouTube page, honoring Pastor Andrew, who has moved to Florida. The "You Ask For It" sermon series continues, with all messages available as a podcast. Preston also tells the story of the fair: a new country artist named Greyland James, a canceled grandstand headliner, refunded tickets, and a free-stage rescue show of live local country. George is off this week, but Preston refuses to let the tradition die: "Doodles spilled the milk!" - and Donald makes sure George can't have any. Keep technology alive, let your talent shine. Recorded 2026-08-05. Hosted by JC with Salvis on the boards, on the VisionCast Network.
Stacey's Boat Breakdown, JC's Puerto Rico Recap & MP3 DJ Goes Tesla (Vision Cast 2026.07.29)
2026/08/08
JC is BACK! Vision Cast returns to full strength with JC home from Puerto Rico, Stacey James live on the panel, and the biggest crew of the summer: Salvis, JC, Stacey, George, Preston, Donald, Nora, and a hello from Katie. Donald reveals his ChatGPT-coded broadcasting software MP3 DJ now runs Super Hit Mix Radio like a "self-driving station... a Tesla station." It watches the computer clock and switches between scheduled shows automatically with clean overlaps - George testifies the Music Mayhem to DJ Cool transition was seamless. It runs massive playlists on almost no memory. Donald also announces Super Hit Mix Radio and KSRN are officially sister stations, and as Stacey puts it: Vision Cast, RCL, KSRN, Super Hit Mix - "we're all partners, we work together, we're a team." In a pre-recorded drop, Stacey reports a frustrating VoiceOver accessibility bug in her broadcaster app - the Add Tracks button reads as dimmed for screen-reader users - forcing her to delay a few scheduled shows. But the wins are bigger: she upgraded to the Broadcast 3 package, turned on Auto DJ, and KSRN is now streaming music 24/7. Coming next: a KSRN Alexa skill, mobile apps for Apple and Google Play, and a submission to Audacy, one of the biggest hubs in radio. The story of the night: Salvis plays Stacey's audio diary from her weekend boating trip at Two Rivers Marina with her mom - first time out on the little lake boat. The engine roars, the water gets bouncy, Stacey debuts her own AI-generated country theme song mid-ride... and then the ignition sputters and dies. Electrical failure, a tow to the boat launch, and the immortal line: "I was fine until Mom said we had to swim to shore." Phone and headphones survived. The panel loses it. JC recaps Puerto Rico: roosters crowing at dawn, an Airbnb in Fajardo, fried cheese squares and calamari, meeting his cousin's first baby Maximo (aka Max), singing Happy Birthday with the family, and streaming their home church service on the Airbnb's smart TV. The tech star of the trip: JC used his Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses to live-translate his Spanish-speaking family into English in real time. Plus a practical accessibility find: his new Miracase iPhone 16 Pro case finally stops muffling the bottom microphone his old case blocked. Nora joins between sessions of the virtual American Council of the Blind convention, wrapping up this week with the annual banquet - archives available on ACB Media. Her birthday lands August 8 , right on karaoke night. And in the most loving roast of the season, Stacey weaponizes Billie Eilish's "Happier Than Ever" against George and Philip, the whole crew piles on, and Stacey announces plans for a Satan-themed birthday party for George in November. KSRN Radio Launches, Song Fest Part 3 & Shower in the Dark Suno Song (Vision Cast 2026.07.22)
2026/07/25
A mid-summer Vision Cast packed with a brand-new radio-network launch, more ChatGPT-built audio tools, and a full evening of live acoustic performances that turn into an actual talent-scouting moment. Hosted by Salvis with Rita from Arizona on the mic, and Donald, Veronica, and George holding down the panel. JC sends in pre-recorded audio from vacation and Preston drops in mid-show after another call. Salvis opens with a wry admission that he tried to watch Samsung's Unpacked event that morning and "fell asleep" on it. Rita catches everyone up on the excessive heat warning rolling across the country, and the Texas contingent commiserates on trying to stay cool. Donald then walks the crew through two brand-new screen-reader-friendly 64-bit Windows executables he coded with ChatGPT, building on last week's MP3 DJ story. First is a Wave and MP3 Recorder that captures anything playing on the computer (Spotify, YouTube, streams) at 128 to 320 kbps MP3 or up to 96 kbps WAV and can split songs into separate files. Second is an MP3 Radio Builder that points at a folder of tracks and auto-generates a 1 to 24-hour continuous mix with cross-fades, volume normalization, and jingle injection, ideal for EDM sets, internet radio stations, and DJ playlists. Salvis plays a pre-recorded promo from Preston officially announcing the launch of KSRN, the Crazy Stacey Radio Network. Listeners can tune in 24/7 via Live365 crazystacey25.net . The launch programming block includes Vision Cast, Radio Connection Live on Monday eveningsv at 7 PM Eastern , Music Mayhem with George and Stacey, DJ Cool, and a dedicated Christmas music block for the year-round holiday fans. The Summer Song and Dance Festival keeps rolling with Part 3. JC pre-records a warm birthday medley combining "Happy Birthday to You" and "Feliz Cumpleaños" wrapped in a cheering-crowd effect. Salvis then debuts a full pop-synth song he built in Suno AI called "Shower in the Dark," his direct callback to Veronica's instant-classic bit from last week's show. Veronica takes the virtual stage for a run of live acoustic covers on her guitar (strings a little out of tune from the humidity): Alison Krauss's "When You Say Nothing at All," Patsy Cline's "Walking After Midnight," The Judds' "Mama He's Crazy," Bill Haley's "Rock Around the Clock," and Carole King's "You've Got a Friend." Salvis is so blown away he asks straight up whether Veronica is secretly a famous singer performing under a stage name that the crew just does not know about. Veronica laughs and says "at least not yet." Preston then jumps in with the branding pitch of the night: her first studio album should be called "Songs with a Guitar Pick." Music producers listening in, the crew is telling you outright, we have a talent here. George rounds out the music segment with two of his own pre-produced tracks, including a heavy blues-rock cut titled "Faith" aimed at "people who say they have love for you but they don't." Later, during shout-outs, George pays tribute to his beautiful colleagues Willow, Stacey, and Angela, with a special anniversary note for Stacey timed to when the episode airs. After joining live, Preston walks the crew through the accessibility pages he manages, including his own Tech Nonprofit ZAPS Tech. He shares a big-week update: he got a call from Dan Jublonsky at Transit for All PA, the statewide grassroots organization pushing for more accessible transit. Preston recaps last year's Harrisburg rally, meeting the transit-agency CEO, and the video of that meeting getting a fresh push on social media. He also tracks a Baltimore-area radio-ownership story with a big station sale coming and another K-Love signing on locally. Salvis closes the show with the "Keep technology alive, let your talent shine" line, and Preston caps the entire episode with the legendary tag: "Doodles spilled the milk, but we still clean it up." Keep technology alive, let your talent shine. Recorded 2026-07-22. Hosted by Salvis
Donald Codes MP3 DJ with ChatGPT, Song Fest Part 2 & Summer Weather (Vision Cast 2026.07.15)
2026/07/21
A mid-July Vision Cast loaded with accessible-tech wins, live-on-Zoom family updates, and a second helping of the Summer Song and Dance Festival. Hosted by Salvis with Donald, George, Preston, Phil, and Veronica on the panel - plus pre-recorded drop-ins from JC (calling in from Puerto Rico) and Stacey James with a high-energy launch promo for her brand-new Crazy Stacey Radio Network. The centerpiece of the night is Donald's blind-coder AI breakthrough: he walks the crew through his journey using ChatGPT to write actual C# code for the Microsoft .NET 8 framework, building his own custom audio recorder and a fully working MP3 player he's calling "MP3 DJ." It's a live case study for the "AI is finally lowering the barrier for non-programmer blind creators" trend - landing the same week the industry is buzzing over the Suno AI source-code leak that pulls back the curtain on how much AI music is trained on scraped YouTube audio. The Summer Song and Dance Festival keeps rolling with pre-submitted covers from the crew: JC on "America the Beautiful" and The Rolling Stones' "I Can't Get No Satisfaction," Rita's fan-favorite "Como La Flor" and "La Bamba," Veronica delivering James Taylor's "Fire and Rain," and Preston closing it out with Toby Keith's "I Love This Bar." The instant-classic bit of the night is "Shower in the Dark." Veronica sets it up telling the story of a sighted friend who lost power and immediately worried about how she'd shower. Veronica's dry reply - "I don't have to see to take a shower" - sends the crew into fits, and Salvis coins the phrase "Shower in the Dark. That sounds like a great song or even story," calling it back later alongside the running pizza-on-a-black-Waymo joke. Phil is back on the panel after fighting a 4th of July flu and previews Sunday's grand final of the FIFA World Cup 2026 - Spain vs. Argentina - the biggest match of the summer as the tournament wraps up its US/Mexico/Canada hosting run. George brings the crackle in JC's absence, catching up with the crew about the wild-swinging summer weather, quality time with his girlfriend, a shout-out to his Portland friend Taylor, ongoing Mac and screen-reader compatibility challenges facing blind creators in 2026, and yes, a busted toenail on the way into the show. He also relays a family update on Phil's behalf: Phil's mother is home from the hospital after a bout of pneumonia and the crew keeps her in their prayers. Preston rounds it out with a new patio bistro set, a booked DJ gig at a local crab and karaoke bar, his transit-advocacy video for the CTAA hitting Facebook and Instagram, plus plans to catch the new Twisters movie. JC's pre-recorded tropical postcard from Puerto Rico teases coquí, salsa, and street food stories in a future episode, and Stacey's high-energy audio drop announces the launch of her brand-new independent Crazy Stacey Radio Network. Warm shout-outs to Phil's mom recovering, baby Noah still home safe post-NICU, and a nod to Katie's birthday callback from the previous week close the show. Keep technology alive, let your talent shine. Recorded 2026-07-15. Hosted by Salvis on the VisionCast Network. Final note: Bear is a tentative schedule for crazy Stacy‘s new radio edition now posted on the vision cast email list.
