The Courage To Heal. The Path To Freedom! — Episode 40
2022/06/28
In this episode, Nick shares his story from brokenness and bondage to true healing and freedom. He recounts living a life of performance and people-pleasing that led to emptiness, a deep sense of unworthiness, and a battle with addiction. He discussed the details of his journey to healing and powerful transformation through discovering his inherent worth, understanding his true essence and purpose, and learning to love and accept who God made him to be. He shares that as a result, he is stepping into his own purpose and calling to help others heal and break free from their own prisons with his new mission, having the courage to scale authenticity. This episode is packed full of beautiful vulnerability and life-changing wisdom and inspiration. It’s a must-listen for every man and woman. Shares the struggles that have shaped who he is today including his lack of meaning and fulfillment in life and alcoholism.  Shares how he realized he had a problem with alcohol and its effect on his family and how he sought help.  Shares what he has discovered about himself in his healing process and the greater life purpose God revealed to him.  Shares wisdom and encouragement for those who struggle with feelings of unworthiness and lack of meaning and fulfillment.  Nick and his wife, Amanda live in Newnan, GA with their three daughters: Sophie – 13, Izzie – 12, and Tessa – 9. He’s lived in the area for most of his life. He graduated from Landmark Christian School in 2000 before going to Auburn University. Following his time at Auburn, he lived in the Charlotte area for a short time before meeting Amanda. They dated a short four months – hey, when you know, you know – before getting engaged, and were married a year later in 2006.  They moved to Newnan soon thereafter and will be celebrating their 16th anniversary in June. Nick spent most of his professional career in sales, much of that time on the road and covering a 3 state territory. He realized there was much more to providing for his family than bringing home a paycheck, and being gone 3-4 nights a week wasn’t cutting it. In 2015, he left his traveling sales position for good, and has enjoyed playing a larger role in the family’s day-to-day activities ever since. One of the things he treasures most is being able to see his wife and three girls daily. It’s a decision he’s never regretted! “I realized there’s a lot more to providing for my family than creating income. How do you provide security when you’re not home? How do you provide life lessons and how do you provide the love of a man that they’re going to go find somewhere if you’re not home?” — Nick Polgardi — Resources: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/nick.polgardi Warrior Arise! Healing and Thriving In Body and Spirit — Episode 35
2022/04/26
In this episode, Dr. Erinn Harris shares vulnerably and authentically her journey through struggle to become the Godly woman and anointed doctor that she is today. She recounts the moment that she realized her passion and purpose and walks us through her own process of healing, growing, maturing, and developing her relationship with and trust in God. Her life experiences and lessons are encouraging and inspiring as is the incredible impact she is making in helping people heal, break free, and thrive. She also shares how she established a balance between self-care and family time while expanding her business in ways she never imagined possible. Recounts her story and shares the struggles she faced along the way. Shares how she discovered her passion and her purpose. Shares some of the experiences that kept her in the struggle, striving, and surviving.  Enlightens us on how she began to break free and live in that freedom and authenticity that she does today and how she now helps her patients heal and thrive.  Explains what is direct primary care and how it works and shares what she loves about it. Shares the difference between functional medicine and normal Western medicine. Dr. Harris was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. As a child, she had a strong interest in science; however, by the time she reached college, her focus was primarily on medicine and infectious disease research.  After graduation, she worked in a pathology research lab and soon decided that medicine would be her career path.  In 1994, she was accepted into Indiana University School of Medicine. During medical school, she soon realized that she enjoyed treating adults and the inner workings of chronic disease. She decided to pursue training in Internal Medicine and was later matched at Emory University’s Internal Medicine training program.  In 2001 she completed her training and started pursuing her career as a Primary Care Internist and Hospital Medicine physician. By 2014, Dr. Harris became frustrated with the traditional insurance payor system and treating patients like a reimbursement instead of a true person with health needs and concerns.  Therefore, she decided to open a direct primary care membership practice in Tyrone, GA.  This huge change in the way she practiced allowed her to spend more time with patients and establish better relationships. As she started to spend more time with patients, she had more time to try to figure out the root causes of their chronic illness. This ultimately led her to the practice of functional medicine. Dr. Harris currently lives in the south Atlanta area along with her husband and blended family of 4 children. Her greatest enjoyment is spending quality time with her family and a good nap. “For me to be able to impact somebody that way – that all their lives, they have had this issue and then all of a sudden, they’re like, better. Are you gonna ask for anything better than that?” — Dr. Erinn Harris — Resources: Website: www.harrisinternalmed.com; www.revmedwellness.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/harrisdirectprimarycare ; https://www.facebook.com/Revmedwellness Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/harriserinn/ ; https://www.instagram.com/revmedwellness/ Linkedin: www.linkedin.

An anointed author and Bible teacher, Denise Jones recounts her story of God’s healing and restoration from the pain and disappointment of divorce and how it led to the birth of Reclaiming Hearts Ministries. Throughout the episode, Denise shares how God demonstrated His goodness and faithfulness in the midst of her pain and loved her in the details during even the hardest moments. She encourages us that He will do the same for us, no matter the circumstances. Denise’s love for Jesus will penetrate the caverns of your heart like a healing salve, and her practical wisdom will awaken your spirit deep within. She gracefully and powerfully lays out the pathway to living wholeheartedly and fully alive! Walks us through the impactful times in her life that have shaped who she is and how she discovered her purpose and ministry.  Shares her process of healing, reclaiming her heart and coming back to life as the woman that God created her. Talks about her passion as a teacher and author, and how she lives out her calling. Explains how she impacts people’s hearts with Reclaiming Hearts Ministry. Share her thoughts on what keeps people stuck in the bondage and how to break free.  Shares the practices that she implemented in her life, spirit, mind, and body that empower her to live fully alive. Denise Jones grew up as a preacher’s kid. By the time she graduated high school she had lived in eight different cities and gone to as many schools. Yet South Carolina held her deep family heritage and her heart. It also afforded her a stable college season at The University of South Carolina where she majored in Journalism. Arriving in Nashville to pursue her dream of becoming a Christian singer, it was the gift of writing and joy of teaching that eventually became the passion of her heart. Marrying in 1994 she pursued both of these gifting which produced eight novels while traveling and speaking. However, with the loss of her marriage in 2007, Denise realized how indescribably shut-down her heart had become. Even while living obediently to her calling, her broken marriage had left her a shell of a person. The loss of that marriage sent her on an intentional journey to reclaim her heart. That journey produced a sobering yet life-giving recounting of the first year of her divorce in a non-fiction book called, Flying Solo and then Reclaiming You’re Heart: A Journey to Living Fully Alive which birthed a ministry called Reclaiming Hearts that she now leads with her husband of twelve years, Philly. Denise and Philly make their home in Franklin, Tennessee while her five bonus kids are dispersed hither-and-yon. She loves reading a good book, enjoying a cold Coca-Cola, and spending time with her beautiful family over Sunday dinner. She loves laughing with Philly, eating Mexican with anyone and the deep friendships she is blessed to know. She also loves Jesus…she really loves Jesus. “I don’t take for granted my heritage that taught me at an early age that the Lord speaks. And I am grateful for when he has spoken, I have been obedient even when it looks foolish in the natural, but it has totally changed the course of my life.” — Denise Jones — Resources: Website: https://www.reclaiminghearts.org/   Warrior Arise!
