Hydrogen powered aircraft are expected sometime in 2035 with Airbus taking the lead. Today, Airbus announced the Hydrogen powered A380 test bed which plans to start flight testing in the middle of this decade. Day 2 of the 2021 Dubai Air Show saw plenty of big ticket announcements. The Airbus A350F was launched with Air Lease Corp. which also placed orders for the A220-300, A321neo, A321XLR and A330neo.  Boeing saw orders from Emirates for the 777F, and Emirates also announced it would purchase IAI converted 777-300 freighters. DHL Express purchased more 767 BCFs.  ATR launched a new engine on the ATR 72 and 42 with the PW127XT engine series and Air Corsica is the launch customer here.  Embraer saw a new customer in Overland airways, and also announced its intent to look at passenger converted freighters. At the Dubai Air Show 2021, the Airbus A350F has been launched, in addition to Indigo Partners ordering 255 A321neo family aircraft for their airlines including Wizz Air, Frontier, Volaris and JetSmart.  The Airbus market outlook for the next 20 years was released, and in addition the Boeing 777X made a flying demonstration. On the third anniversary of the Boeing 737 MAX Lion Air crash, we take a look at what is going on at one of the top aerospace companies in the world.  Three years hence, Boeing seems to be neck deep in problems still: The Boeing 787 manufacturing defects are expected to cost $1billion, the Boeing 777X is massively delayed and Emirates, which is the launch customer for the 777X is doubtful when it will fly the aircraft, and the Boeing 737 MAX is pending re-certification in China which is causing massive inventory pile-up.  Despite these challenges, Boeing says it has commenced work on its new aircraft, what was known as the Boeing NMA (Boeing NSA). The successor to the popular Airbus A320 has been finalized with Airbus officials saying it is not a question of "If" but "When" the smaller Airbus A220 (Bombardier C Series) is stretched for a likely A220-500 variant to replace the A320.  Have you flown the Airbus A220, or experienced it as a passenger?
