No poorly cropped poster to analyze. Just vibes and calendar anxiety. So Matt and Nick are not taking this lying down. Well, technically they are sitting down, but they are digging in anyway. Today’s focus is summer tour openers. The good ones. The weird ones. The ones that quietly tell you exactly what kind of tour you’re about to get if you know how to listen. Is it odd that we still don’t know when or where Phish is playing this summer? Maybe. But this is that perfect stretch of the new year where anything feels possible and the summer tour announcement could drop at any second. Will they play near you? Will they play near me? Phish has the first two shows of 2026 in the books and right out of the gate things are already bending. Each night brought a debut. One night slipped in a little bust out just to keep everyone honest. The waves are there. You can feel them and hear them. Big Money Friday is back and the boys are doing what they do best, taking something simple and turning it dumb. It's Name DAY. Band names. Member names. Sandwich names. Nothing is safe. Matt is firing off options like he’s running a focus group, Nick is overconfidently declaring winners after hearing them once, and somehow every idea gets worse and better at the exact same time.  This is chaotic, yet decisive, and deeply (un?)Serious in the way only Insuphishient can pull off. Insuphishient is a podcast by two American podcast hosts, Matt and Nick, which was recorded live, both in spirit and actually,  somewhere between text messages and microphones on a random weekday in January 2026. This stretch of Insuphishient will always be remembered by listeners as the loose era, during which the show deemphasized its more technical segments and structured games in favor of more ambient conversation, groove based takes, and extended space improvisations. Some of this was predicated on the show’s transition from a tightly packed bit driven podcast, then to flowing segments, and finally to something closer to arena level wandering, which required a shift in approach and overall sound. This episode was instantly a host and listener favorite, and versions of it had been discussed long before the current iteration of the show was fully conceived. Among listeners, the episode is already being considered one of the strongest in the show’s history. Within the Insuphishient community, it is quietly being talked about as a top tier entry when stacked against the hundreds of conversations Matt and Nick have recorded over the years. Over the weekend a great musician passed and the world is quieter because of it. The rooms feel a little emptier. The notes hang a little longer. We are all, without question, a little worse off. Well folks, 2025 is officially closed and somehow everyone got what they wanted. Nick definitely did. A debut. Finally.  While Nick was "Cream"ing his jeans, Matt slipped effortlessly back into his signature role as Baby New Year. "Waaah. Waaah." All jokes aside, MSG has seen a lot over the years.
