They all had a fun time doing this episode, though Maggie still hasn’t recovered…

Maggie & Alessandra took a break from the podcast (and each other) for a couple weeks and decided to livestream their conversation catching up. Maggie gives a gripping story of her survival of finals week, and she might just finish it if only the girls could stay focused for one second. Anyways, they thought it would be fun to give this bonus episode to the fans for some much-missed, unfiltered conversation (and to celebrate the Launch of Season 2!!!).  We apologize in advance... but not really :)

Welcome to the season finale! This episode has been a long time coming and we are sure excited about it. Before we go on break for the holidays we wanted to get a panel together to discuss the common saying “Guys and girls can’t just be friends” and see if there was any truth to it.  So OBVIOUSLY Alessandra had to invite all of her guy friends onto the show to get to the bottom of it :)  The episode has a grand total of 4 guests, lots of opinions, and many laughs.  Additionally, we found case study research to add a little scientific flavor to the conversation.  Join  Maggie and Alessandra for our season finale as they interview Dominic, Nick, Evan, and Mathias about their experiences with friendships, having healthy relationships with the opposite gender, and answering the question “Can guys and girls be just friends?” We’ll be back after the Holidays for our next season! Are YOU friends with your babysitter? Alessandra is, so she had her on the show. Turns out she’s a big fan of podcasts so she fits right in. Welcome Raelene!! She grew up a couple of houses down from Alessandra and was entrusted with babysitting duties from a young age. The age gap makes for some fun perspectives, and apparently Alessandra’s mom had way more of an impact on each of the girl’s lives than she ever intended. There’s some good wisdom about relationships, childhood, and God in this episode. We’re totally doing this again. 

The friends-to-lovers trope is one that Maggie is particularly fond of, and Alessandra not so much.  They frequently discuss their differing views and thought it might be good to put the conversation into an episode for the rest of the world to experience. The beginning of the episode includes another “Bad Advice” segment, where the girls decide whether having hotter friends makes someone more friend-worthy. While recounting their own experiences of the friends-to-lovers trope, they learn a lot about each other and where their feelings for the trope might have stemmed from. Alessandra makes some valid points and Maggie keeps the conversation hopeful. Was there a consensus? Welcome friends! We have Madelyn Frost Arts back on the show this week because we simply cannot get enough of her. Today’s episode starts out with our “UpDATE” segment, where the girls give the rundown on what’s new with their online dating lives and Madelyn gives a brief overview of her Bumble excursions. We have a new segment, “Bad Advice,” where the girls talk about bad advice they’ve seen on the internet trying to be passed off as good advice. And, in the 3rd and final part of the show, Madelyn gives some background and insight into the characters of her webcomic. Specifically, the relationship of the hero and his mother (Spoilers!!). Our dating lives are turning out WAY different than we expected, we HARDCORE over analyze toxic memes, and we absolutely LOVE talking about boundaries between children and their parents!
