As a long-standing member of the baby-boom generation, I evaded my own knowingly gay sexuality as a teenager.  My society taught me that it was wrong to be homosexual, my faith taught me it was not only immoral but mentally unhinged.  And, frankly, those attitudes pursue more glaringly in my Catholic Church to this day.   It would take many years and twist and turns of my life’s journey to arrive at self-acceptance.  I owe my life and my sanity to the many Pride members who guided me along the way to realizing I love being gay.
