Send a text Hello everyone, we're back, after a long haitus.  We are very sorry about our absence, but life threw some curveballs at us that we had to tackle.  We're going to do our best to get the podcast back up and running, so thank you all so much for your patience and understanding.  You're all great. Here we have a treat for you, as we get back into the swing of things.  We each came up with a list of our top 5 dragon books/media (Rei focused on books, bantam branched out) as well as our bottom 3, meant to be a sort of holiday shopping guide.  Which books do we think you should spend your Amazon/Barne's and Noble gift cards at? So come join us while we gush about and rant over some of our most memorable reads, some of which have not been covered on the podcast yet!  And we wish you all a happy holiday season; Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year to you all.  Twitter: @OfficialWODPOD Email: [email protected] Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/worldofdragonspodcast Discord - https://discord.gg/Kfjh74aqn2

Send a text Welcome back dragon fans, to the second part of our coverage of The Lost Firebreather by D.M. Gilmore.  A reminder that because we covered a review copy, we released the first half last week in tandem with the official public release of the book, and so put off the spoiler half until you all have had a fair chance to read it, to be fair and respectful to the author. Join us once again as we discuss this heavily ATLA inspired dragon book, talking about our favorite characters and which ones were difficult to get into.  Come here Rei's crackpot, conspiracy-board worthy theory on what the elements actually are.  Cool down with a glimpse into the thought process and history of the podcast and a small discussion on how emotional dragons are supposed to be. We even have discussions about Rei's high school writing attempts and his dream dragon game.  Many topics were had this episode, as both the hosts went on quite a few tangents. Send a text Welcome, Dragon Fans, to another prerelease review!  D.M. Gilmore, author of Lazy Scales (a Rei favorite) has given us a review copy of his newest book, first in a series, so we could do another day 1 review!  As such, the second half of the episode, the spoiler filled discussion, will be released next week so everyone can have an honest chance to read the book and we don't just immediately spoil everything day 1. The Lost Firebreather is a take on the Avatar The Last Airbender formula, but with dragons!  That's great, we need more "but with dragons" stories honestly.  The world has several tribes of dragons, all aligned with an element, and a survivor or a genocided tribe must discover who he is, and quite possibly learn how the other cultures interact with their 'elements'.  Unfortunately, no juiceboxing in this book.  Rei sad.   Twitter: @OfficialWODPOD Email: [email protected] Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/worldofdragonspodcast Discord - https://discord.gg/Kfjh74aqn2

Send a text Welcome back Dragon Fans to our latest episode, the proclaimed "worst dragon shifter romance ever"; a 'bad' book being read and reviewed as a treat.  Long have out hosts been trying to find great things to suggest to you, having only found subpar works on accident, that we decided to review a bad one on purpose, for funsies.   Please note, that this is an erotica, and so listener discretion is advised. Come join us as we visit a world where the dragons would prefer to be in human forms, where the kind and love interest is brooding and submissive, and the main character has very few redeeming qualities.  Who knows, maybe you'll disagree with our opinions on it.   Behold the return of the Bangent.  Bantam was so put off by this book that he has several rants for you to listen to.  Rei has several as well as he picks apart world building decisions that he did not agree with.  Some bonus discussions on bantam's treatment of funko pops, Rei's thoughts on Indulgent Fantasy, and more await you! Send a text Hello dragon fans, here is the second half to our previous episode, covering the spoiler filled discussion on the world, plot, and characters of the second book in the Scales of Fate series, The Scarred Prince, by Shaiden Barnes.  As a reminder, we did this episode in two parts to give you time to read it as our review came out the exact same day the book was released to the public. Come and enjoy a Rei tangent filled episode, he has lots to rant about, the good and the bad, from the magic system, to the character growth (or lack thereof), and more, this really is a passion filled episode! Send a text Hello everyone, a special type of episode today!  Bantam and Rei were given advanced copies of the second book in the Scales of Fate series, by Shaiden Barnes, so that we could give a review on the book intime for its launch, so biiig thanks to the author for this experience, it was great fun and honestly makes us feel like we're growing as creators. As such, since there is pretty much no way you could have read it yet, we are also trying an experiment with uploading, where right now we only upload the first half, the non-spoiler review, and will be uploading the second half next week.  Let us know if this works better (maybe you have a hard time getting the willpower to pause the episode halfway through) or if you absolutely hated it (maybe you don't read the books at all and just like listening to us), feedback is important :3 Twitter: @OfficialWODPOD Email: [email protected] Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/worldofdragonspodcast Discord - https://discord.gg/Kfjh74aqn2

Send a text Hello dragon fans, and welcome back to another episode of World of Dragons!  Admittedly, it has been quite a while since our last upload, but part of that is due to Rei wanting to read multiple books at once for a review.  This episode we're reviewing the Dragon Sorcerer series, by Sean Oswald.  The first book of the series is Claws Out, and was the book we had Bantam read to give his impressions, Rei decided to read ahead so he could let you dragon fans know if this was going to be another betrayal, like the Dragon Friend series was (minor rant included in the episode). Join us as we discuss the first dragon shifter book that Rei has enjoyed, and actually considers to be a good book with the shifting being useful and not a cheap way to hide the dragon.  Rei has a lot of good things to say about the series, and we even have a few tangents included for different tropes, what fun! If you stick around after the ending music, Rei will comment on a few plot points that happen in later books, so big fat SPOILER warning for that, but he will do so with the intent of letting you listeners who are on the fence or nervous about the course of the book know if its going to go into territory that would disappoint you.  For example, if the book 4 the dragon was going to give up his dragonhood and be human forever (he doesn't) that's the kind of thing he would spoil so you don't get blindsided and betrayed.  Twitter: @OfficialWODPOD Email: [email protected] Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/worldofdragonspodcast Discord - https://discord.gg/Kfjh74aqn2

Send a text Hey Dragon Fans, we're back with book 4 of All the Skills, by Honour Rae, continuing the surprise dragonrider hit with Arthur and Brixaby.  This will be the last book in the series we cover for now, at least until the full series is published, then we may return for a retrospective.  So come join us talk about our favorite characters, what we did and did not like about the evolution of the world and story, and our hopes and fears for the future of the series. We may have an interview with the author, so stay tuned for more information regarding that! Send a text Hey there dragon fans, this is a small update episode to let all of you who are not in our discord know what has been happening with us, why there was such a long period of no uploads, and what the plan is moving forward.  Nothing terrible or drastic, the show will continue just in a mildly toned down format to keep it simple and hopefully less time intensive.   Thank  you all for staying with us, for enjoying our content, and for your patience during this rough patch. Send a text Hey Listeners, we're back from a long hiatus, sort of.  I had several episodes that were in my editing backlog that I'm going to upload now, and once they're all up (limited on hours-per-month to upload) we'll have a discussion/announcment about the future of the show.  For now, just understand that editing was draining on me and so I'm going to do much less of that now, so forgive the random background noises or 3 second silences I used to take out.   My sincerest apologies. ----------- The last of the backlog, this episode was requested by a member of our discord, and the Author himself.  Smash the World's Shell is a forbidden friendship story, where a human and a dragon meet and become friends, despite the fact that their respective species are enemies, so much as both sides believing that the other are monsters, incapable of speech. Their personal stories also revolve around expectations, and even gender norms. By the author's request, we have a content warning: "This is a healing story, but the journey towards catharsis winds through dark, thorny territory. Potentially triggering content includes: verbal and physical abuse, suicide, suicidal ideation, loss of a parent at a young age, and self-harm." That said, in this episode we review one of Rei's favorite new book series, and one that he found completely by accident.  All the Skills is a litrpg, card based dragon-riding story that follows an outcast, son of a criminal, who happens upon a very powerful card, one usually reserved for nobility, that causes him to enter the world of the dragon riders, hives, the Scourge, and noble politics.   Come join us as we share this new and fascinating world with you! Send a text Welcome back dragonfans!  This episode we have something special for you, an erotic  novel written by one of our fans!  Scales of Fate is a M/F dragon romance erotica following a "prince from nothing" male lead who falls in love with a servant drake while he's being groomed to be married off to a foreign princess. Come join us as we discuss the novel and the tropes of writing/reading an erotica, Rei rants about Matriarchy settings, and Bantam shares his top ten list of works we've reviewed for the podcast.   Of course, being an erotic book review, reader/listener discretion is advised.   Twitter: @OfficialWODPOD Email: [email protected] Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/worldofdragonspodcast Discord - https://discord.gg/Kfjh74aqn2

Send a text Greetings Listeners!  This episode we cover the book Axtara Banking and Finance, a textbook sounding title, but a fantasy novel following a young dragoness who settles in a frontier kingdom to be the first banker of the realm there.  She'll face hardships such as fantasy bigotry while trying to grow her business and show the people of the burgeoning country that she is not a monster, nor here to ruin them. Come join us as we cover the book, and then have some brief discussions  on topics such as dragon age vs human age, the historical accuracy of medieval weaponry, and how to magical is flying anyway?
