The more involvement the patient has in developing their home program, the more successful it will be. Collaboration is the key! · Collaboration between members of the healthcare community is essential as well. For patients with an acute stroke, there needs to be coordination between EMS, the Emergency Department, Cardiology, Neurology and Pharmacy (from the very first moment.) Here are 3 things that stood out as Lyn Yaffe gave us a researcher’s perspective on healthcare: · EPR is a method of producing rapid cooling to artificially induce hypothermia which temporarily suspends the body’s need for oxygen. This is especially valuable in individuals who have experienced massive blood loss. · The success rate of CPR is only about 5% in trauma victims. In cases of a cardiac arrest, the success rate is 15% depending on your location and access to services. · Quality healthcare necessitates regular checkups at the doctor of your choice with the opportunity to be referred to a specialized healthcare center at the discretion of your doctor and at minimal cost.
