Have you ever prayed for direction, then immediately started trying to figure everything out yourself? You're asking God what to do, but your mind is already running through every option, every problem, and everyone else's opinion.
Proverbs 3:5 tells us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding. But what does that actually look like when you need an answer?
In this teaching, Travis Lee Peters shares how to become more aware of the Holy Spirit living in you and recognize the difference between your own thoughts and His inward leading. Through Scripture and personal examples, you'll learn why hearing from God doesn't have to involve an audible voice or a dramatic experience. Sometimes, it begins with a quiet inward knowing that becomes clearer as you pray.
In this Bible study, you'll learn:
• What it means to trust God with your heart instead of relying on your own understanding.
• Why a seemingly good idea isn't automatically direction from God.
• How to quiet your soul and make room to listen.
• How circumstances can pull your attention away from God's Word.
• Why feeding your spirit helps you become more sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
• The difference between collecting opinions and seeking wise, godly counsel.
• How to seek God's direction for your business, calling, and everyday decisions.
If you've been asking, "How do I hear from God?" or "How do I know if this is the Holy Spirit or just me?" this message will help you approach those questions with greater clarity and confidence.
At Increase Bible Academy, we help everyday believers understand the Bible, build strong faith, and apply God's Word to the situations they're actually facing.

A bill is coming due. Something is happening in your family. You're facing a situation you don't know how to fix. Before you realize it, your mind is running through every possible thing that could go wrong.
How do you interrupt that cycle and respond in faith?
Philippians 4:6–7 gives us instructions: don't worry about anything, pray about everything, tell God what you need, and thank Him for what He has done. Then His peace will guard your heart and mind.
But what does that look like when the same concern comes back five minutes later?
In this teaching, we talk about how to put those instructions into action, recognize thoughts that pull you away from trusting God, and develop the habit of bringing your attention back to His Word.
You'll learn:
• How worry tries to undermine your trust in your heavenly Father.
• How to apply Philippians 4:6–7 when you feel overwhelmed.
• What it means to cast your cares on God and leave them with Him.
• How to take thoughts captive instead of rehearsing everything that could go wrong.
• Why renewing your mind helps you respond in faith.
• The connection between humility, trusting God, and releasing your cares.
• Why facing another challenge doesn't mean you've failed.
• How to care about people without carrying worry about them.
We also lead you through a spoken prayer to release your cares to the Father and respond to worry with faith.
Scriptures discussed include:
Philippians 4:4–7
Matthew 6:25–34
John 14:27
2 Corinthians 10:5
Romans 12:2
1 Peter 5:5–8
James 4:7
This teaching is part of our Worry Free Challenge, where we're learning to apply God's Word to everyday situations and build the habit of trusting Him.

In this Bible study, Travis Lee Peters teaches from 1 Corinthians 2 about the Holy Spirit, the mind of Christ, and how believers can know the things God has freely given them.
Many Christians have been taught to think God is mysterious, distant, confusing, or hard to hear from. But Scripture says God has given us His Spirit, and His Spirit reveals the deep things of God. You do not have to live confused, disconnected, worried, or unsure of what to do.
You'll also learn why it matters to study the Word topically when you're facing a specific situation. If you're dealing with financial pressure, health issues, worry, fear, or confusion, you need to build your faith with Scriptures that speak directly to what you're facing.
If you've been saying, "I don't know what to do," "I'm confused," or "I don't hear from God," this lesson will help you renew your mind and start believing what the Word says about the Spirit of God living in you.
In this lesson, you'll learn:
- Why God is not a mystery to His children
- How the Holy Spirit reveals the deep things of God
- Why you can know the things God has freely given you
- What it means to have the mind of Christ
- Why you should stop saying you're confused
- How to ask God for wisdom when you need direction
- Why worry makes it harder to hear clearly
- How to study the Word for the specific area where you need faith

What does it mean that God's promises are "Yes" in Christ? How does delighting yourself in the Lord relate to the desires of your heart? And why did Jesus connect asking and receiving with abiding in Him and keeping His words in you?
We'll examine these passages, challenge assumptions that can weaken your confidence in prayer, and talk about following God's leading one step at a time.
Travis also shares how he and Rachel trusted God through their desire for a new home and for Rachel to become a stay-at-home mom. These personal testimonies illustrate their journey of faith, obedience, and recognizing God's faithfulness over time.

RELEASE THE WEIGHT OF IT | How to Give Your Worries to God
2026/09/30
What if you simply stopped carrying the weight?
The Bible doesn't tell you to manage your worries, carry them better, or learn how to live under the pressure.
It tells you to CAST THEM ON GOD.
In Day 3 of Worry Free Living, we're looking at Psalm 55:22 and 1 Peter 5:7 and learning what it actually means to release the weight of your worries, cares, anxieties, and burdens onto God.

IN THIS TEACHING, YOU'LL DISCOVER:
• What it actually means to cast your burden on the Lord
• How to release the weight of worry
• What God's promise to "sustain you" means
• Why holding onto your worries can become self-dependence
• How worry affects the decisions you make
• The difference between playing to win and playing not to lose
• How to recognize worry thoughts before they take root
• A practical way to take your thoughts captive
• How to replace fearful thoughts with God's Word
Psalm 55:22 says:
"Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved."
God never intended for you to carry everything yourself.
When you release the weight of your burdens onto Him, you can trust Him to sustain you, provide for you, guide you, and show you what to do next.
Think about this:
Where would you be today if you hadn't worried about anything for the last 365 days?
At the very least, you'd probably still be where you are right now, except you would have enjoyed the last year a whole lot more.
And what decisions might you have made differently if they had come from faith instead of fear?
Worry makes you play defense.
Faith allows you to move forward.
Worry thoughts may come, but you don't have to receive them. Take the thought captive. Stop the negative mental movie. Replace it with God's Word.
Release the weight of it.
Let God sustain you.

DON'T TOUCH IT IN YOUR MIND | How to Stop Worry Before It Takes Over

What do you do when a worried thought suddenly hits your mind?
"What are you going to do?"
"How are you going to pay for this?"
"What if this gets worse?"
That's where the battle starts.
In Day 2 of Worry Free Living, Travis shares what happened when a major leak appeared in his ceiling on the very first day of his 45-Day Worry Fast, and how he handled a real problem without allowing worry to take over his thought life.

The goal isn't to live a life where nothing ever goes wrong.
Things happen.
Bills show up. Things break. Bad reports come. Unexpected problems arise.
The question is: What are you going to do with the thoughts that come with them?
You don't have to entertain every thought that enters your mind.
When worry starts trying to play out the worst-case scenario, STOP THE MENTAL MOVIE.
Take the thought captive.
Refuse to worry.
Find the promise in God's Word that overrides the fear, speak it out loud, keep your mind fixed on Him, and ask the Lord:
"What's my part to play?"
Isaiah 26:3 says:
"You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You."
You can deal with real problems without allowing worry to control your mind.

In this Bible teaching, Travis Peters walks line by line through Psalm 37 and shows you how to stop worrying, trust God, and rest while expecting Him to answer.
The Bible doesn't just tell you, "Don't worry." It shows you what to do instead.
Psalm 37 tells us to trust in the Lord, feed on His faithfulness, delight ourselves in Him, commit our way to Him, rest in Him, and expect Him to answer.
One of the most practical things you can do when worry or anxiety starts is feed on God's faithfulness.
Remember the times God has already provided for you. Remember the prayers He's answered. Remember when He gave you wisdom, opened a door, met a financial need, brought healing, or showed you exactly what to do.
As you remember God's faithfulness, you're building your confidence that the same God who came through before will be faithful again.
You'll learn:
• What it actually means to trust God
• Why worry reveals where your trust is
• How to feed on God's faithfulness
• How to stop playing worst-case scenarios in your mind
• What it means to commit your way to the Lord
• How to rest in God instead of trying to figure everything out yourself
• How to expect God to give you an answer
• Why Psalm 37 says worry only causes harm
One of the biggest keys in this teaching is simple:
You don't need to formulate the plan. You need to hear His plan.
Rest in the Lord. Expect Him to answer. Then follow the instructions He gives you.
If worry, fear, anxiety, financial pressure, or uncertainty has been controlling your thoughts, get your Bible and study Psalm 37:3-11 with us.
And if you want help putting this into practice, we're currently doing a 45-Day Worry Fast inside Increase Academy, with practical Bible teaching designed to show you what to do when worry comes.

In this Bible teaching, Travis Peters continues through 2 Peter 1 and breaks down the qualities Peter tells believers to actively develop as they grow spiritually.
One of those qualities is perseverance, or steadfast endurance.
Biblical perseverance isn't sitting around waiting for something to change. It's remaining steadfast under pressure. It's refusing to abandon your position just because things become difficult.
Sometimes Christians encounter an obstacle and immediately think, Maybe God is telling me to stop.
But difficulty by itself doesn't mean you missed God.
In this teaching, you'll learn how to develop spiritual grit, recognize thoughts that try to get you to quit, become stronger under pressure, and continue moving forward in what God has called you to do.
You'll also discover what Peter teaches about:
• Perseverance and steadfastness
• Godliness and living a Christ-centered life
• Brotherly kindness and genuinely caring for others
• Agape love and putting the good of others before yourself
• Becoming useful and productive in your knowledge of Christ
• Developing spiritually so that you do not stumble
Peter doesn't simply tell believers to possess these qualities. He tells us to make every effort to develop in them.
And there's an incredible promise attached to that growth: as these qualities increase in you, you become useful and productive in your knowledge of Jesus Christ, and Peter says that actively developing these virtues will keep you from stumbling.
If you've been tempted to quit, wondering whether resistance means you missed God, or simply want to become a stronger and more mature Christian, get your Bible out and study through 2 Peter 1:2-11 with us.
Keep going. Keep growing. Keep helping people win.

In this Bible teaching, Travis Peters walks through 2 Peter 1 and shows you the specific qualities Peter says believers should actively develop in their lives.
God has already given you everything you need for life and godliness. He has also given you exceedingly great and precious promises so that you can partake of His divine nature. But Peter doesn't stop there. He tells believers to give all diligence to growing and developing spiritually.
You'll learn how to develop:
• Moral excellence
• Knowledge and understanding
• Self-control
• Steadfastness and perseverance
• Godliness
• Brotherly affection
• Agape love
These aren't qualities you simply ask God to magically develop for you. Peter tells us to make every effort to grow in them.
And the promise attached to this is powerful.
According to 2 Peter 1, as these qualities increase in you, they will keep you from being useless and unproductive in your knowledge of Jesus Christ. Peter then says that if you actively develop in these things, you will never stumble.
If you want to become stronger in your faith, understand God's Word at a deeper level, grow in spiritual maturity, and become more useful and productive for God's Kingdom, this Bible study will give you practical areas you can begin developing today.
Don't just listen to the Word. Take what you learn and put it into practice.

The Bible Tells You Exactly How to Become a Strong Christian
2026/09/08
What if you're asking God to give you something the Bible says you already have?
In this Bible teaching, Travis Peters continues through 2 Peter 1 and breaks down the qualities every believer is instructed to actively develop, including faith, virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love.

One of the biggest mistakes Christians can make is waiting for God to do something He has already instructed us to do.
Peter says to "give all diligence" and add these qualities to your faith. That means spiritual growth isn't passive. We have a responsibility to develop, grow, practice, and put God's Word to work in our lives.
In this teaching, you'll discover:
• What the Greek word for faith, pistis, actually means
• What it means to add virtue and moral excellence to your faith
• Why Christians should continually grow in knowledge and understanding
• The biblical meaning of self-control and self-mastery
• Why you should stop saying, "I can't help it"
• How to develop discipline in practical, everyday situations
• Why the world sometimes gets results from biblical principles while Christians only pray about them
• How developing these qualities can make you useful and productive for God
• The incredible promise Peter gives believers who consistently practice these things
Self-control means you don't have to be ruled by every feeling, appetite, distraction, temptation, or impulse that comes your way.
You can give yourself a command and follow it.
And according to 2 Peter 1, as these qualities are developed and increasing in your life, you become useful and productive, grow toward spiritual maturity, and position yourself to never stumble.
God has given you His Word, His Spirit, and His power. Now it's time to put His instructions into practice.
