In today's episode, we read Mate by Ali Hazelwood. Mate is the second book in the series Bride series (which we reviewed back in S7 Ep. 3). The book follows Serena, a Human-Werewolf hybrid who outed herself as a hybrid to attempt to promote a strong union between humans and werewolves. Instead, she is being chased by vampires and werewolves who want her gone. As with any Ali Hazelwood book, this book also has a spicy romance. How much smut is too much smut? How does this book compare to the first book in the series, Bride? Listen to find out!

Welcome, welcome! In this week's episode, we talk about the darkly comedic thriller, Julie Chan is Dead by Liann Zhang. Recommended to us by a friend of the podcast, this book follows a woman named Julie who assumes her famous influencer twin's identity after she mysteriously dies. It's dark, it's satirical, and it's about Instagram influencers. The real question is, did we like it? Guess you'll need to listen to find out!

Welcome back! This week we talk about family dysfunction in Lost Lambs by Madeline Cash. The book follows a family in turmoil when the parents temporarily separate, throwing their three daughters’ lives upside down. While the book promises to be funny, do you think our useless doctors enjoyed it? I guess you’ll have to listen to find out!

In today's episode, we read the thriller Two Nights in Lisbon by Chris Pavone. The book follows Ariel Pryce, who is on a trip in Lisbon with her new husband. Listen to find out!

This week, the Useless Doctors read the historical fiction novel The Storm We Made by Vanessa Chan. This book explores the perspectives of Cecily and her three children in Malaya during World War II, as the Japanese invade to occupy the land from the British. PSA: this book is quite sad. While this isn't our go-to genre, you won't want to miss the fiery discussions we get into in this episode. Tune in to find out!

Welcome, welcome to the ninth episode of the season! In this episode we talk about one of our fav romantic comedy authors' latest book, "Great Big Beautiful Life"! The book is part rom-com, part family drama, and part mystery as we follow two writers who are trying to write a compelling autobiography about a reclusive heiress. Try guessing if we liked this one!

In this episode, we read Welcome to the Hyunam-Dong Bookshop written by Hwang Bo-Reum. The book follows Yeongju as she opens her own bookshop after being burned out from her fast-paced corporate job. The book has gotten popular on social media for being a relaxing and healing book. According the Pooja, this is the "antithesis of hustle culture." Can we vibe with the slowed down pace? Is the book really healing and calming? Listen to find out!

For this episode, we read the highly popular thriller, The Housemaid by Freida McFadden. While the movie adaptation starring Amanda Seyfried and Sydney Sweeney recently came out in December 2025, we read the book and recorded this episode well before it did. Tune in to hear our thoughts about the morality of the characters' choices, what we would've done, maybe some secret confessions, and all our thoughts on the casting choices. P.S. Sorry for the late release today and shoutout to our most loyal listeners for noticing!

This week, we talk about the historical epic The Seventh Veil of Salome, written by an author who has been featured multiple times on this podcast. Taking place during the Golden Age of Hollywood, two actresses compete for the part of Salome in a big-budget movie. The book promises drama, a super intense rivalry, insight into Hollywood, and most importantly, some ROMANCE. Did this deliver? Listen to find out!

In today's episode, we chatted about The Wedding People by Alison Espach. The novel follows Phoebe Stone, who unexpectedly finds herself crashing a wedding while on a trip she was originally meant to take with her ex-husband. Who would've expected that Sarah would pick a personality-based book (no plot, just vibes)? Not me! Is it a hit? Can Pooja handle the relationship drama? Listen to find out!

In this week's episode, we read The Missing Half by Ashley Flowers, author of one of our favorite books we've previously reviewed, All Good People Here. This thriller follows the story of two women, whose sisters both disappeared under mysterious circumstances, who come together to investigate these cold cases. Did it live up to the expectations we had based on Flowers' previous book? Do the useless doctors have more debates? Tune in to find out!

In today's episode, we read Ali Hazelwood's first paranormal romance, Bride. Paranormal and a romance?? Is this the twist that Harshini needs to finally enjoy a romance book? Does it still hit Sarah's romance sweet spot? Can Ali Hazelwood really pivot from STEM romance to paranormal romance? Listen to hear our thoughts!

The newly minted doctors are back this week with a witchy dark thriller, The Midnight Feast by Lucy Foley. A luxury resort called The Manor is about to open, but there are some weird goings-on....particularly regarding some birds. Is the weirdness caused by some humans who don't want the resort to open? Or is it because of something supernatural? Listen in to hear our reviews!

Finally!!! We're back with Season 7 (apologies for the major delay) and are starting off with the second book in the Booktok famous romantasy series by Rebecca Yarros, Iron Flame!
