Description
This is a podcast about love, life, and a second chance. Though our marriages failed, we still believe in the power of a great love story. We share the best (and worst!) dating stories, the highs and lows, lessons learned, and nothing’s off limits - well, except for Laura’s refusal to date anyone who lives more than 30 minutes outside her radius. This is Thirsty: the podcast - because sometimes life leaves you wanting more. www.thirstythepodcast.com https://linktr.ee/thirstythepodcast

From how to write a profile to how to screen for your best match, they're showing us what we can do to make great connections that may actually go somewhere. 84. Moving on from Monogamy, with Dedeker Winston
2023/10/23
When it comes to relationships, there's this pervasive idea that monogamy is the gold standard. However, most of us don't fit into that [very small] box. Divorced? That's not monogamy. Dated multiple people? That's not monogamy. Serial monogamist? That's not monogamy either.
So, let's throw out the fantasy and get real instead. Over *one in five Americans have practiced some form of ethical nonmonogamy at some point in their lifetime, so this is not a niche practice. If you've ever found yourself wanting to know more about nonmonogamy, polyamory (and any other kinds of amory!) today's episode is for you. Dedeker Winston, a relationship coach, author, and co-host of The Multiamory Podcast, is here to dispel myths, offer guidance, and say the quiet part out loud. And, she's totally delightful as well.
Join us as we learn more about nonmonogamy — and perhaps — more about ourselves, as well.
ABOUT DEDEKER WINSTON
Dedeker Winston is an educator, relationship coach, and co-host of the Multiamory podcast, a research-backed relationship advice show that centers non-traditional relationships. She is the author of The Smart Girl's Guide to Polyamory and Multamory: Essential Tools for Modern Relationships.

BONUS. Tea Time: In Which Laura Pays Good Money to Suffer for 26.2 Miles
2023/10/12
Laura's fresh off the Chicago Marathon finish line and lived to tell the tale. In today's tea time, Laura recounts the journey to her first marathon, and it was a world majors race, to boot. On the same day that Kelvin Kiptum smashed the world record with a 2:00:35 finish, Laura was busting through her own limits by running her way through 29 different Chicagoland neighborhoods. There were over a million spectators. There were elite runners. There were pretzels. However, what's the answer to the question we all want to know... was it worth it?
