This Episode is a hard one to talk about because so many people out there have had this tragically happen to them. However, we need to bring awareness that it is not only the straight men and women that get sexually abused. It happens more often then not within the LGBTQ+ Community and it needs to be mentioned, and it's not. Rarely do you hear of incidents involving LGBTQ+ people. This may be a triggering episode for some of our listeners, and we want you to be aware. I am excited to say that this episode introduces my friend and Co-Host Sarah to One Heart, One Voice. Sarah and I met through my husband and became friends. Sarah like me has compassion for those struggling with coming out, and day to day life struggles and wanting to help. In this Episode Sarah and I talk about the LGBTQ+ community and the struggles they deal with, and the things they have to overcome. We want to stress that these are our stories and opinions based on experiences we have seen or dealt with in our lives, and feel that most can relate to that are among the LGBTQ+ community. This Episode is a little different then others. I found this YouTube video, and felt it was an important one to share. The story that Tarik Daniels tells is about Loss of a partner, and the hurt his partner's family put on him. How he over came it, and then to find out he has HIV. Tarik took the fact that he has HIV and used it to teach others, and still does. He has support groups, and a Podcast out there for all who need support dealing with HIV. This Episode is about the struggles a teenage boy had coming out. I know that this story is very relatable to many of us out there, and I felt it was a good story to read, and talk about. Being a teenage boy and realizing your attracted to other boys is not easy thing to deal with. Being attracted to the same sex is ok, but dealing with what comes with it is hard, and it can take a toll on you as people find out. Seeking counseling, or talking to an outreach program, or just talking to someone else who has experienced it, is something I feel is very important. This Episode is not about coming out stories, It's about the world we live in today and the effect it has on us all. I talk about the LGBTQ+ community and some of the current issues happening as we speak. The foundation that we have as a country destroyed for our kids, and what this country has come to is what this Podcast is about. My opinions may be different then yours, and that's ok. Today's Episode talks about a Father learning that his married son is Transgender, and now must be his daughter. He talks about the impact it had on him and his wife, and how Bion is now Ashley. This story is how all parents should react when their child comes out to them. Just as sure as it is hard for the child to come out, it is also hard for parents to come out. Meaning, Parents have to change their thought process and their life like their child has to, and that can and is hard to do, especially as a Transgendered kid. The parent knows their child one way, and now has to accept their child another way, and that takes time and understanding. It also is a learning process for both. It's a story I felt needed to be heard, because it is like so many out there. You can find this story on CBC.CA online. Todays  talks about a documentary on Netfilx called Pray Away, and how organizations try to convert LGBTQ+ people into believing they are straight and that being LGBTQ+ is a behavior.
