John K quotes Magnifica Humanitas paragraph 212: “At this point, however, a subtle temptation may emerge, namely the thought that the problems are too big and we are too small, and that our choices, therefore, cannot make a difference. This is a polite form of resignation, often disguised as realism. Certainly, not everyone has the same power to make a difference. There are those who govern, make investment decisions, lead institutions, conduct research, educate, produce or provide information, and then there are those who only seem to live their daily lives. Yet, no one is without responsibility. We all have our own areas for action, and it is precisely there — and nowhere else — that we must choose whether to fuel the mentality of force (even if only through indifference, cynicism, lies or hatred), or to preserve the mindset of peace (with truth, moderation, closeness and care).”

John Kleinsman made several references which he shares below:
My opening quote from Pope Leo:
“With infinite love, God has created all things and given them life… Only a contemplative gaze can change our relationship with creation… ‘It is in the Eucharist that all that has been created finds its greatest exaltation.’” Pope Leo XIV: Inaugural ‘Mass for the Care of Creation’ (2025) Listeners might also check out this page which provides resources for the liturgical celebrations: https://worlddaycreation.com/en/
My closing quote from Pope Leo:
“Although the challenges before us are enormous, God does not leave us without the means of healing and transformation. In place of the weapons of war, the God of peace grants us the strength to heal, to reconcile and to build a civilization of love. In this way, we are called to safeguard the many “ecosystems” entrusted to us: the ecosystems of creation, of human relationships and of the human heart itself.” MESSAGE OF HIS HOLINESS, POPE LEO XIV FOR THE 11th WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR THE CARE OF CREATION 2026: https://www.vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/en/messages/creation/documents/20260815-messaggio-giornata-curacreato.html
