Albertsons Migrates PeopleSoft Payroll to Oracle Cloud

After migrating its PeopleSoft Payroll application to OCI in May 2021, Albertsons was able to run its weekly payroll jobs 50% faster than when those jobs ran on premises. Albertsons chose Oracle Managed Cloud Services (OMCS) from Oracle Advanced Customer Services (ACS) to provide administration of the PeopleSoft Payroll applications, databases, Exadata Cloud Service, supporting infrastructure, and the OCI tenancy.

To protect itself from sudden shifts in consumer preferences, Bolthouse Farms needed an applications infrastructure that could respond in an instant to market changes. By upgrading its JDE suite and moving it from an on-premises AS/400 to OCI, Bolthouse’s IT teams were able to eliminate their manual maintenance processes, replicate their environment in a disaster recovery site, and reduce the time it took to complete a full restoration of the system to less than 30 minutes, down from two hours.
Lee Container scales ERP deployment with APEX and Autonomous Database on OCI

Construction Specialties Deploys Global Analytics Platform On OCI

After pulling product and sales data from multiple Oracle SaaS applications, AS/400 ERP, Salesforce CPQ, databases, and spreadsheets into an Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse, Construction Specialties began migrating more than 250 reports from various spreadsheets, SSRS, iDashboards, and Power BI to Oracle Analytics Cloud. Since being trained on Oracle’s BI RPD visualization techniques, users can instantly run visualizations and reports in OAC (and OAC Mobile), accessing metadata, logical schemas, physical schemas, physical-to-logical mappings, and other constructs on demand.

University of Melbourne Deploys Autonomous Database and Machine Learning on OCI

To maintain a schedule for performing systems tasks, researchers at the University of Melbourne use an Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse to log the performance of Raspberry Pi edge devices, CPU cores, and memory capacity. The research team then uses in-database Oracle Machine Learning to run algorithms that can predict the optimal run time for those tasks.
Punch Torino: Deploys HPC Cluster on Oracle Cloud

To run its computational fluid dynamics simulations faster, Italian tier-1 engine manufacturer, Punch Torino moved its CFD platform to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Using OCI High-Performance Computing, Punch Torino’s engineers are now able to run CPU, Memory, and I/O-intensive simulation and testing workloads up to 24% faster with 33% fewer compute cores.  
ComSpec Deploys ColdFusion, Java-based Edtech platform on Oracle Cloud

To access ComSpec’s student information system on OCI, university personnel are authenticated by logging into a Uniface Anywhere controller, which sits in front of three Uniface Anywhere application servers. As users are authorized, they can then access ComSpec’s ColdFusion and Java-based applications, which pull data from and send it back to an Oracle Database running on Oracle Database Cloud Service.
