Two Exhibition Reactions, Coach Gets An Extension & More
2026/10/29
Sam & Grant, the All-American, are back to talk about Purdue's last two exhibitions this season; a 30-point win at Purdue Fort Wayne; and a 25-point loss at UCONN. They will talk about things that caught their attention. Who played well? Who still has some work to do? Were there things that are "out of the ordinary" from past teams? They will also talk Coach Painter's contract extension from this week. What does that mean to Purdue and its fans? It's a loaded show! ENJOY!
Ball State Chat, Purdue-Fort Wayne Exhibition Talk & More
2026/10/22
Sam & Grant, the All-American, are ready to go this week! It's the first week since April that they have a game to react to and a game to preview! First, they'll talk about Sunday's exhibition against Ball St. What did they get from the game against the Boilermakers? It's a long conversation about various things from the game against the Cardinals. Then they'll move on to the Boilers' trip to Fort Wayne to take on the Purdue-Fort Wayne Mastodons in the second exhibition game of the season and the first of two road games. What do they expect to see against PFW, and how will this prepare them for their game next week against UCONN? Finally, they'll talk about Purdue not being in the opening AP Top 25. The omission ends a 79-week streak of being there. Does this mean anything, or is it actually a good thing? It's a packed show! ENJOY!
Final Thoughts Going Into Exhibition Season & Light Ball State Preview
2026/10/15
Sam & Grant, the All-American, are back and get to preview a game! As the exhibition season approaches, the guys put a "wrap" on the off-season and start the transition to in-season! The gents will discuss things talked about at Media Days, what a starting lineup might look like, and other preps the Boilers have been working on for the upcoming season! They will transition to a small preview of Sunday's exhibition at Mackey with the Ball State Cardinals. The Cards come in with a VERY overhauled roster, including former Boilermaker Aaron Fine, and have some identity to find, much like Purdue. What are the guys interested in finding out during the exhibition season, starting with the Cardinals? It's a busy show, and we're ready for GAMES! WOOHOO! ENJOY!
Media Day Special
2026/10/13
Sam & Dustin Schutte were at it in Rosemont, IL, for basketball Media Days! Even with people running all over the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, the guys were able to sit down and have some great conversations. CJ Cox & Daniel Jacobsen They joined the show to talk about the team, their development, and how they’ve taken on new roles this season. Mike DeCourcy A wide‑ranging conversation covering the beginnings of bracketology, Purdue’s place in the national picture, and some memorable NCAA Tournament snubs. Robbie Hummel It’s audio‑only, but Sam caught up with the former Boilermaker great to talk about staying objective, his passion for Purdue, this year’s team, and Coach Painter. It was a fantastic Media Day. ENJOY! And yes — we will have a regularly scheduled Thursday show this week, as well!
Media Days Approach, Preseason Honors Released & More
2026/10/07
Sam & Grant, the All‑American, are back! It’s Media Days week, and Sam is in Rosemont covering the event. They’re breaking down which Boilermakers are representing the “new‑look” Purdue squad — with CJ Cox and Daniel Jacobsen making the trip. The guys dig into whether there’s anything behind the choice of those two players and what it might signal about the program’s direction. They’ll also dive into the construction of this season’s roster and ask the big question: could this team actually be better than the past couple of seasons? The preseason awards and All‑B1G teams dropped this week, and for the first time since 2014–15, not a single Purdue player appears anywhere. Does that open the door for a few Boilermakers to come out of nowhere and crash the postseason awards conversation? It’s a great show — and be on the lookout for a special Friday Media Days Edition this week. ENJOY!
Purdue Potpourri, Part 3
2026/10/01
Sam & Grant, the All-American, are back after a week off to talk about a few topics! The details of the UCONN exhibition are out, two former Boilermakers have NBA training camp invites, the #B1G conference has made a statement about eligibility rules, and takeaways from the first day of practice are all part of Purdue Potpourri, Part 3! It's a great show! ENJOY!
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE SCHEDULE
2026/09/17
Sam & Grant, the All-American, are discussing the newly released schedule! Dates and locations are known, so the guys are looking at what awaits the Boilermakers this season! What portions of the schedule are troublesome? Are there any relief areas for them in the schedule? Times will be coming out at a later date, but at least we have an order! It's a fantastic show! ENJOY!
Court Ruling For TKR, Recruiting Offers & More
2026/09/10
Sam & Grant, the All-American, are discussing a couple of ongoing things! The court case by Trey Kaufman-Renn against the #NCAA has been ruled on, and he has obtained a TRO, which means he now has a sixth year of eligibility. Even though the Five-for-Five rule is in place, will there ever be an end to court hearings for more eligibility? Is there any chance he returns to Purdue? Where do the guys think he COULD end up? After the TKR TRO talk, the guys will discuss recruiting news on a couple of potential 2029 recruits. They will talk about these players and what they could bring to the Boilermakers if they came to West Lafayette! It's a great show! ENJOY!
TKR Lawsuit, Accolades For Lance & More
2026/09/03
Grant, the All-American, is BACK! He and Sam have a short one on the docket this week! Trey Kaufman-Renn filed a lawsuit against the NCAA to seek a 6th year of eligibility. If he's granted this year of eligibility, does his return to Purdue make sense? Does it make sense for him and the program to move to a different location for the season? This also might spark some conversation about the trend of players going to court when they don't get what they want! To wrap things up, the guys will chat about new graduate coach Lance Jones getting an honor from his high school. They'll talk about this and how fitting it is that this honor was given! It's a great show! ENJOY!
Purdue Potpourri Part 2
2026/08/27
Grant, the All-American, is out again, so Sam is joined by Dustin Schutte for the second week in a row! It's a week of only a couple of topics, but the conversation is great! First, Purdue legend Glenn Robinson donated $100K to the city of Gary, IN, for disaster relief. Then, the conversation moves to an interview Coach Matt Painter did with John Rothstein last week. Will Enzo Scharvin ever be cleared? How do Euro League players get away with being formerly paid players, but still get to play in the NCAA? Could the Boilermakers have a rotation lineup that contains 3(!) point guards? That leads to a rotation that Dustin has thought about, and it might be one that will surprise you! The show doesn't have a lot of different topics, but the show is great! ENJOY!
Who's Mr. Clutch & More
2026/08/20
Grant is away at team camp for cross country, so Sam welcomes our buddy Dustin Schutte in Grant's stead! Not a bunch happening, but oh goodness, can they chat! First, two of last year's seniors have signed professional contracts for next season. Liam Murphy (Ireland) and Braden Smith (NBA-Pacers two-way) both signed to play professionally! How does a two-way contract work in the NBA? What are reasonable expectations with Braden and the Pacers this coming season? TKR is expected to get a contract with the T-Wolves soon, as well, but what are their thoughts on what might come from Fletcher Loyer? He's the only senior left without a certainty of what will come from next season, so where might he end up? WHEW! That's sure a lot BEFORE we get to the MAIN portion of the show! Hammered Threads put out a question on social media this week: You're Coach Painter. You need a 3 to win the game. Who are you calling? The choices: Fletcher Loyer, Ryan Cline, Dakota Mathias, or Carsen Edwards. The choices are great, and the guys have their thoughts on who is choice #1! What about you? Who are you calling for the play? Let us know! It's a GREAT show! ENJOY!
Purdue Potpourri
2026/08/13
Sam & Grant are back to talk about a few smaller topics, with there not being too many big topics to talk about! They start with the ESPN article that gives the ceilings and floors for all 18 #B1G teams. Purdue comes in a little lower than the guys think they should, and they break down their thoughts. They also go over some of the other teams and where they come in the prognostication. After that, they will talk a little about Oscar Cluff getting a pro contract, and also about thoughts on how Purdue is starting on a trajectory that could mean GREAT things for the Boilermaker faithful! It's a great show! ENJOY!
5th Year Eligibility News, Recruiting Offers & More
2026/08/06
Sam & Grant, the All-American, are here to discuss a couple of topics! First, some players are recently available due to a court decision, and one has been linked to the Boilermakers! Cameron Fens, from South Dakota, is a big man who Purdue has shown interest in. He entered the portal after his 4th season, and when the injunction was put in place he is free to transfer! So, how would he fit with Purdue? Do they have room for him? What are the chances he's in old gold and black next year? Then, the guys talk about another hypothetical that was talked about earlier this week... Braden Smith announced he would not be coming back to Purdue for a 5th year. Since he hasn't signed a pro contract and didn't enter the portal after last season, he would HAVE to come back to West Lafayette. The guys talk about what a return would mean, and how the team dynamic would be affected if he had considered a comeback. It's a good conversation! They wrap it up with a conversation about a top-100 recruit receiving an offer this week! It's a great show! ENJOY!
4 and 0-Canada & More
2026/07/30
Sam & the All-American, Grant, are back with our buddy Dustin Schutte! The Boilermakers made the trip to the Great White North and played 4 games near Vancouver, Canada, and walked out with 4 pretty dominant wins over area teams! Who was impressive during the trip? Were there reactions that need to be pulled back because these were only exhibitions in July? How about some things they saw that might turn into something good at the start of the season? They will talk about some potential scenarios for certain players to be starters, as well as whether they agree with some statements about a player's potential, even beyond this year! It's a great show! ENJOY!
Practice Breakdown & NBA Summer League Recap
2026/07/22
Sam & Grant, the All-American, are reacting to the recent open practice in West Lafayette before the Boilers head to Canada for their games near Vancouver! Who stood out? Who might make it difficult to come up with a starting lineup? Are there players who could have standout seasons? Are there players who might need more time? Also, Enzo Shahrvin started practicing... how did he look? What will he be able to provide Purdue once his eligibility is cleared? They will then recap the four Boilers who participated in the NBA Summer League. How did each look, and do the guys think any of the four will make an NBA roster? It's a great show! ENJOY!
