Ashleigh Conwell about Solo-Parenting Triplets as a Widow
2026/02/04
In 2020, while 17 weeks pregnant with triplets, Ashleigh Conwell's world shattered when she lost her husband in a tragic accident. From that profound loss, she founded Yellow Falcon - empowering widows to move from isolation and overwhelm to confidently rebuilding their lives with practical guidance and a community who truly understands.
Ashleigh is a sought-after Transformation & Resilience Speaker who combines raw authenticity with actionable strategies, proving that our greatest comebacks can emerge from life's darkest chapters.
She created The Confident Widow Checklist - a comprehensive roadmap for navigating "death admin" and The Confident Widow Course, a transformation program helping widows move from feeling lost in grief to rebuilding lives filled with meaning, strength, and beautiful possibilities they never imagined.
Through coaching and speaking, Ashleigh provides the practical roadmap and emotional guidance that traditional grief support often misses because she's walked this impossible path and knows what actually helps.
When she's not empowering widows, Ashleigh treasures joy-filled moments with her triplets: backyard running races, playground adventures, and strawberry milkshakes.

Unsilence Grief with Chris Coulter from The Mentor Well**
2025/12/10
**Disclaimer: Today’s episode of Unsilence Grief includes discussion of suicide and the emotional experiences surrounding it. Please listen with care. If you are currently struggling or feeling unsafe, consider skipping this episode and reaching out to a trusted support person or your local crisis support service. In Australia, you can contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 or text 0477 13 11 14.If you are outside Australia, please check your local crisis hotline.
Chris Coulter has walked through loss on several fronts. He lost a business. He lost a marriage. And in 2015, he lost my daughter Maddie to suicide. Each one changed him in ways he never expected. Grief became something he had to learn how to live with, not get over.
Over the last decade, he has spent his time speaking honestly about loss, regret, love, and what pain teaches us if we let it. Chris now helps parents better understand the grief process, not just after tragedy, but while they are still in the middle of fear, confusion, and quiet struggle.
The MentorWell is Chris’ living tribute to Maddie. It is where her kindness, her sensitivity, and her ability to make others feel seen now live on through mentorship. We connect teens and young adults with steady, emotionally aware adults who listen, support, and walk beside them as they find confidence and direction. It is built on the belief that no young person should have to carry heavy things alone, and that one safe connection can change a life.
He educates parents in the workplace through his LifeLine Parent Workshops addressing three questions he’s been asked by more than two thousand parents navigating a similar storm with their children: “How do I know if my teen is really struggling?” “How do I get my child to open up tome?” “Where can I go to find resources for my struggling child?” Parents leave with a sense of calm, confidence and preparedness.

Unsilence Grief with Duncan Schieb from A Friend's Place
2025/12/03
Duncan's bio is full of professional achievements - yet, there's a deeper story behind it all, which he shares in our conversation on "Unsilence Grief"... the loss of one of his sons, Lachlan. The tidal waves of emotions, dealing with so many different layers of grief, the sole-parenting of his 4 children, throw Covid in the mix - this conversation goes deep.
About Duncan Schieb:
Duncan Schieb brings a deeply personal commitment to his role as Head of Development at A Friend's Place. Raised in the western NSW town of Coonamble, Duncan grew up surrounded by community spirit, hard work, and the resilience of country life - qualities that have shaped him throughout a career spanning regional Australia, the UK, Hong Kong, Asia, and New York.
In 2020, Duncan’s life changed forever when his son Lachlan - Oscar’s identical twin - died suddenly. This profound loss reshaped his understanding of grief and strengthened his dedication to ensuring no child or family has to navigate grief alone. Supporting his children through their heartbreak remains his greatest challenge and deepest motivation.
Since returning to Australia and settling on the Northern Beaches, Duncan has immersed himself in community life. He leads the Manly Bombers Auskick program, coaches junior girls’ footy and local cricket, umpires with his son Charlie, and serves as President and patrol member at South Narrabeen Surf Life Saving Club. He also mentors young people through the Raise Foundation, giving him valuable insight into the pressures today’s youth face.
Across 25 years, Duncan has worked on major fundraising, property, media, and storytelling projects, helping charities raise more than $200 million. But above all, he is a devoted dad to Charlie, Matilda, Molly, and twins Lachlan and Oscar - the heart behind his work.
Driven by compassion and community spirit, Duncan is committed to expanding the impact of A Friend’s Place and ensuring grieving children always have someone in their corner.

2025/10/15
Today I have to wonderful Lauren from Feel the Magic live with me, for a bit of a "Behind the Scenes". As a Mum myself, I know first hand how daunting it feels, "handing over your kids to a bunch of strangers for a Grief Camp". If you can relate, listen in, this is for YOU!
Lauren is a proud mum of four and someone who brings both heart and experience to her work with grieving families. Lauren began her journey with Feel the Magic back in 2019 as a volunteer at Camp Magic, where she was deeply moved by the stories and strength of the children she met. Since then, she’s worn many hats — from helping behind the scenes in a voluntary admin position, to now serving as the Family Liaison Officer nationally.
In this role, Lauren connects personally with each new family, guiding them through the programs and helping them find the most suitable support for their unique needs.
