I've spent the last two years at home with Leo and Maik had a sabbatical so he didn't have to work for the last six months. After leaving her job to care for her children during the pandemic, Katie Wessels found herself using her clinical skills to assess and analyze characters and themes in children's animated films. Like, what's going on with Sid from Toy Story? Is he really a "psycho"? (Spoiler alert: we don't think so!) Hi! I’m Katie. I’m the mom of two young kids and a whole lot of other things you’ll probabaly hear about on this podcast. The other day I was doing my 45 minute commute to the office, morning my own business, and I stopped at a traffic light. I looked to my rear view mirror and saw the woman in the car behind me. She was looking in her rear view mirror, too. Through gritted teeth, I saw her say to (presumably) a child in the back seat to just. Stop. Then, at another stop light the car next to me had its windows down. An infant’s cry cut through the air. I looked over and there was another woman, looking tired and stressed. We both had coffees in hand. I raised mine to her, and she did the same, and we each took a swig. And it was out fo that moment this podcast was born. On each episode of Cold Brew Salute I’ll bring on guests to salute themself and someone else for everything from the incredible to the ordinary. We’ll share stories and revel in the ridiculous wonder that is parenthood while hopefully laughing…a lot.
