Born in 1606 in the Netherlands, Rembrant or more popularly known as Rembrandt was a Dutch printmaker and painter – also credited to be one of the greatest artists and storytellers in the history of art. He was known to possess a distinct ability to capture people in their natural being and guises. History also credits Rembrandt as an artist who used light and shade to portray his uncompromising realism, which led history critics to state that the painters' preferences leaned more towards ugliness than beauty.  Self-Portrait with Saskia. However, this trend in his art reduced down over time, and just one-tenth of his work consisted of self-portraits and self-studying of his face. The main theme and the core of his approach throughout his career consist of biblical pieces in addition to some mythological, historical, and allegorical works, all of which were done in pen and ink or chalk. The changes seen in his work over time were gradual and remarkable. His take on composition and his interpretation of color, brushwork, and contour were all subject to abrupt changes, often gradual. Banksy is the pseudonym used by the well-known UK-based street artist, though his identity remains a mystery. Banksy's distinctive style is known by the stenciled graffiti artworks that appear unannounced, typically in public places, often depicting figures integrated into the physical environment and addressing political and social themes. Banksy has achieved international success as a graffiti artist, with some of his artworks selling for over £1 million. Yet remarkably, he has remained anonymous. There have been speculations about his identity, yet they remain speculations. Katz acknowledged and then rejected abstract expressionism and developed his style. He has been called the “artist of the immediate.” Katz himself says he paints “The Artifacts of Culture,” and his work lies in the immediate present. He is an extraordinarily prolific artist and is best known for his portraits, landscapes, and floral paintings; many painted on a huge canvas. His portraits are tightly cropped, and, with a blank background, they focus entirely on the subject. His favorite subject is his wife, Ada, and he has produced over 1000 portraits of her. From street graffiti artist to a self-taught, modern expressionist, Jean-Michel Basquiat lived a dramatic, chaotic, and brilliant life as his paintings. He was a modern polymath. His passion was painting, but he was also a musician and an actor. He was convinced from a very young age that he would be famous, that he would be someone special, but at the same time, he self-sabotaged himself through reckless behavior and drug abuse.
