For the first time in what feels like forever, the guys had A LOT of Bronco related stuff to talk about. Including starting the #nominatehook movement and the Bronco baseball team being one win away from playing in the MAC tournament. They have three games left against bitter rival CMU. Jordan also has a proposition for Lions fans and things get heated when Hendon Hooker is brought up.The Tigers are still overachieving, but Jim and Jordan disagree on what to do at the trade deadline. Today is proof that we are getting closer to the dog days of summer where there is far less to talk about in the world of sports. So this week, Jordan decided to bring up an interesting topic. The idea of expansion in Major League Baseball and the National Hockey League. Jim is not a fan, but Jordan says expansion is inevitable in baseball. Jordan is a little salty this week because his twin brother was supposed to drop by the studio as a special guest this week, but backed out at the last minute for no good reason. After getting over that, he and Jim get into their draft recap and pick their division winners for the NFC and AFC based on moves made during the draft. It's seem like every time we record a new episode, big news drops right after. In this case, it was the gambling scandal within the Detroit Lions organization. Two players were suspended for a year and immediately cut from the team. WR's Stanley Berryhill and Jameson Williams were both suspended for six games. Jordan also has so more troubling facts about Jameson that have him doubting the future of the young star. What does this all mean for the Lions in the NFL draft tomorrow? The Bronco Football Spring Showcase at Waldo Stadium this Saturday! The festivities start at 11:30am and the football game will kick off at 2p! Bronco Softball is on the road on the road this weekend to take on bitter rival CMU. Bronco baseball also hit the road for DeKalb for a weekend set with Northern Illinois. The boys wrap things up talking about the Lions trading Jeff Okudah, which has Jordan quite upset but not for the reason you're probably thinking of. March Madness may have wrapped up on Monday with the men's championship game, but some controversy in the women's title game on Sunday has kept the madness rolling. In addition, the NHL has a bit of a "problem" on their hands. Major League Baseball may just be getting going, but WMU baseball and softball are about halfway through their respective seasons! With the Bronco Hockey out of contention in the NCAA tournament, it's time for baseball and softball here in Southwest Michigan! The Bronco baseball team played their first home game of this season on Tuesday and the Bronco softball team plays their first home game this Saturday which also happens to be April Fools Day! Lots of Lions football to talk about with the rumors swirling as we approach the draft at the end of April. The final four will be played this weekend and the boys are excited for the guarantee of a mid major playing for the championship next Monday. For a second straight year, the WMU Bronco hockey team has made the NCAA Tournament! The road to Tampa Bay and the Frozen Four begins on Thursday for the Broncos. After locking up the three seed in the Manchester regional, they will be taking on the Boston University Terriers at 2p. You can listen to the broadcast on 106-5 Jack FM and watch the game on ESPN2! The victor will then take on the winner of Denver and Cornell for a spot in the Frozen Four. After a disappointing exit from the NCHC tournament at the hands of Colorado College last weekend, Bronco Hockey is left to wait for selection Sunday to see if they are in the NCAA tournament. Jordan thinks they're virtually a lock, but Jim has some hesitation. We will find out either way this Sunday at 3p. The other big topic of discussion this week was NFL Free Agency which kicked off at Noon on Wednesday. The Lions have already been busy and Jordan and Jim give us their thoughts on the moves. After an impressive season finale on the road against Miami, there will be playoff hockey at Lawson Ice Arena this weekend! The Broncos will kickoff their road to the NCHC Frozen Faceoff with a first round match-up against Colorado College. Games 1&2 will be Friday and Saturday and if necessary, the third and final game of the series would be Sunday. Both the men's and women's basketball teams failed to make their conference tournaments and ended their seasons last week. WMU Baseball and Softball continue the start of their seasons down south but are getting closer to their home debuts on St. Patrick's Day!
