This was to have been an episode about the Australian Federal Election and the bullcrap that gets fed to the public during an election campaign. But I said f**k that. I'm sick of that crap, so you probably are too! Today I'm going to talk about a couple of Instagram reels from @TheMentorHouse that have particularly resonated with me in the past couple of weeks. It's important to remember that just because we've been taught something, or made to think a certain way, that it is necessarily the right way. Keep being strong, keep thinking for yourself, and remember to take care of yourself!

The "Plateau" is a dieters worst enemy (asides from doughnuts, pizza, burgers, hot chips....), it's the point in their journey where nothing they do makes a difference. It's no longer a battle between the mind and the body, it's now a matter of the mind versus itself.  For most, the plateau only lasts for a few months before they get through, I wasn't quite that lucky.

Have you ever had the most random of thoughts? Like how much does a fart weigh, or if the universe is expanding, what is it expanding into? Perhaps you're wondering why you still listen to this podcast. Well this episode is all about those moments, spurned on unexpectedly by an unbidden and completely random thought of my own. An optimist and an pessimist walk into a pandemic... The glass half full question... Is it half full or half empty? There are 2 very different crowds in this question. The world is the same. There are optimists, and there are pessimists. Neither listen to the others, and they certainly don't listen to those who are in the middle with a comprehension of what is happening on both sides. But how does this all fit together?

Have you ever looked up to someone? Tried to mimic someone successful? Did it work, or did you fail? Chances are, like (in all honesty) your New Years resolutions, you failed. But do you know why? This episode will lightly touch on what has gone wrong when you try to be someone or something that you are not.

I mentioned Toastmasters 1st all the way in my introduction episode, and figured it was about time to bring it up to talk about. Toastmasters is a global entity that is all about developing speaking skills and leadership capabilities. This episode is not made with their overview, perspective or input, but just purely my experience. "What's your poison?" This episode touches on the effects of alcoholism and the effects that this kind of addiction can have on someone. In this case it's about my now past fathers relationship with alcohol and how I relate it back to the truly amazing song "Familiar Taste of Poison" by the amazing Halestorm. As such, please note if you are not in the right mind or have issues dealing with conversations about alcoholism in general, this might not be the best episode for you to listen to. Please be mindful of this, and if you do suffer from alcoholism or another addiction, please know that there are services and friends that are out there willing to help you!

Part 3 of my weight loss journey: There is a glorious few weeks at the start of every weight loss journey, and during those 1st few weeks, you can usually smash out some amazing losses. I was no different. Starting a new healthy eating regime can be challenging, having one to begin right before Christmas is even worse, but when you stick to it, you can and will reap the benefits.

What happens when the stories stop getting told? Today's episode is about the importance of our cultural and heritage stories being passed on from generation to generation. You possibly have your own, passed from your grandparents, or ones that you have passed to your children or grand children... But what would happen if they never got passed on?
