What do you wish God would do to your enemies? In the fourth plague, the plague of flies, God reveals something deeper than judgment alone. For the first time in the plagues, God makes a clear distinction: Egypt is overwhelmed, but Gods people in Goshen are protected. Its a powerful reminder that the Lord is not distant or absent, He is in the land, active, just, and merciful. This sermon invites us to wrestle honestly with our desire for justice, our tendency to bargain with God, and the sobering truth that we, too, were once Gods enemies. Yet the good news shines through: at the cross, God poured out the judgment we deserved on Jesus, making a distinction not to destroy us, but to save us. Because Christ bore judgment, we are sheltered by grace. And because we are no longer Gods enemies, we are called to live differently, with humility, repentance, and even love for those who wrong us. Justice is real. Grace is deeper.And the tomb is empty.

In this weeks message, we began a two-part journey into stewardship, looking honestly at the powerful pull money can have on our lives and our faith. Drawing from Jesus words, the parable of the prodigal son, and the warning of Scripture, we were reminded that money makes big promises for security, stress relief, and fulfillment ... but ultimately cant deliver what it advertises. Jesus puts it plainly: You cannot serve both God and money. The love of money has a unique power to lure us away from where we belong, with Christ, and back into old patterns that dont give life. This sermon challenges us to ask: Where am I placing my trust? What promises am I believing? Am I wearing the old clothes of greed, or the new clothes of Christs righteousness? As we move toward Stewardship Sunday, may God keep our hearts anchored right there with Jesus, trusting Him, not wealth, for our future. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil (1 Timothy 6:10)

For 38 years, a man lay by the pool of Bethesdawaiting, hoping, unable to move. When Jesus meets him, He asks a piercing question: "Do you want to get well?" In this sermon on John 5:1-15, were reminded that Jesus doesnt just heal bodiesHe confronts hearts. The miracle at the pool shows us more than Christs power; it reveals His call: to really want to be made well, to admit we cant heal ourselves, and to trust and obey the One who can. But the story doesnt end with walking legs. Jesus later warns the healed man not to return to sinbecause spiritual paralysis is just as real as physical paralysis. To what do we keep going back "poolside"? What sins or habits quietly hold us immobile? Jesus didnt suffer the cross so we could stay stuck. He heals us so we can walk in new life.

Life brings pressure, division, and temptation, but the gospel calls us to something deeper and stronger. In this sermon on I Corinthians 16:13-14, we look at Pauls words to the young, struggling church in Corinth imploring them to "Stand Firm", and are reminded timeless those words are for us today. Be on your guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. Do everything in love. Standing firm doesnt mean standing still. It means staying alert to sin and opportunity, rooting ourselves in the good news of Jesus death and resurrection, growing up in faith, relying on Gods strength through prayer, and living out Christ-like love in all we do. Just as Paul came alongside the Corinthians, God places mature believers alongside us, walking together, encouraging one another, and growing in faith. May we be a church that stands firm, watches faithfully, grows courageously, and loves deeply, all for the glory of Christ.

This weeks sermon invites us into the familiar story of the prodigal son through the powerful theme There and Back Again. Like Tolkiens tale, its a journey of departure and returnbut this one is about the human heart and the grace of God. So often, we are there--home with God--rooted in His Word, prayer, and obedience. Yet slowly, subtly, we drift back again into the far country. Prone to wander. Prone to leave the God we love. An invisible Father, a real spiritual enemy, and our lingering sinful nature all pull us away. But the gospel hope shines bright: there is always a way home.Repentance is simply turning around. And when we do, we find a Father who runs toward us with open arms, full forgiveness, and joyful celebration. Because of Jesus, our failures are not final, our wandering is not the end, and our story can always move from there... back again... home. If youve drifted, hear the good news today: Come home.The Father is watching.The feast is ready.And grace is waiting.

What happens when faith has to travel farther than sight can go? In John 4, a desperate father journeys 17 miles to Jesus--only to discover that Jesus doesnt need to make the trip. With no signs, no spectacle, just a promise, Jesus calls this royal official to trust His word. And the man does. Jesus heals from a distance--not only the boys body, but the fathers faith. A remote faith is brought close. A household comes to believe. This week we were reminded: Faith doesnt grow by chasing signs, but by trusting Christs word. Jesus still does remote work, meeting us wherever our faith feels far away. Faith comes from hearingand hearing through the word of Christ (Romans 10:17). Wherever you are today, however distant your faith may feel, Jesus invites you closer. Trust Him as you can--and He will give you more than you expect. Your son will live.And the man took Jesus at His word.

At the wedding in Cana, Jesus first sign was more than turning water into wineit was a revelation of true joy. When the wine ran out, it symbolized a deeper reality: apart from Christ, human joy eventually fades. But Jesus steps in and provides an abundance of better wine, pointing to the overflowing, lasting joy only he can give. This miracle shows us that life with Christ isnt about joy running dryits about joy that grows deeper over time. Jesus replaces empty rituals with living grace, and he saves the best for last. As our Bridegroom, he fills our lives now with real joy and promises an eternal wedding feast still to come.

As we begin a new year, this sermon reflects on the highs and lows of the past and reminds us where our true hope is found. Drawing from Numbers 6:2227, we are invited to hear the familiar Aaronic Blessing with fresh attentionnot as a wish or a prayer, but as Gods own declaration spoken over His people. In this benediction, God promises: The Lord bless you and keep you His faithful protection and care through every trial. The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you His loving presence and overflowing grace, ultimately revealed in Jesus Christ. The Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace true peace with God that sustains us, even in a troubled world. When Gods name is placed on His people, His blessing is certain and unchangeable. As we step into a new year, we do so with confidence: God will keep us, pour out His grace, and give us His peaceno matter what lies ahead.

As we step from Christmas into a new year, Hebrews 12 reminds us what to do after weve heard the angels song. Christmas isnt just a cozy story or good adviceits God speaking decisively through his Son. Jesus is better: better than angels, better than anything we trust for hope or salvation. This sermon calls us to remember the true story of Christmas, to honor Jesus as the divine Son who came to purify us from sin, and to listen carefully to the Holy Spirit so we dont drift. In Christ, the anchor has been droppedweve come home. As we begin the year ahead, may we stay anchored in so great a salvation and let it quietly, faithfully shape our daily lives.

This sermon draws us from Psalm 96 to Luke 2, celebrating the first coming of Jesus and calling us to live in readiness for his return. At Christmas, Christs birth brought fear and great joy, worship and praise, and a world-changing peace made possible between God and humanity. From shepherds to kings, heaven and earth responded to the arrival of the Savior. Jesus first coming continues to change lives todaybringing new life, hope, and purpose. But the good news doesnt stop there. Just as Jesus came once, he has promised to come again. His return will bring final justice, resurrection, and the renewal of all things. Until that day, we are called to worship the Lord, humble ourselves, trust in Christ alone, and live lives that honor him. Sing to the Lord declare his glory among the nations! (Psalm 96)Come, Lord Jesus. Let us be ready.

In Luke 2 and Luke 15, were reminded that God first announced the birth of Jesus not to kings or priests, but to lowly shepherdsoutcasts on the margins of society. Why? Because the good news of Christ is for the lost, the overlooked, and the weary. That holy night, the shepherds didnt just hear the angels songthey were transformed. They moved from loneliness to joy, from fear to praise. In encountering the Savior, they became sheep of the Good Shepherd, joining in the celebration of heaven itself. Jesus tells us in Luke 15 that there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels over even one sinner who repents. That joy isnt just theirsits ours too. If you belong to Christ, you are His sheep, and you celebrate with the angels, even now. Glory to God in the highest!This Advent, may the joy of salvation awaken our hearts to praise, thanksgiving, and hopeno matter how ordinary or difficult life may feel.
