We stopped at the Poison Spider Trailhead in Moab, and of course, I wanted to get as close as I could to the dinosaur footprints. It’s not easy to get right up to the tracks but I decided to climb up the rock to get a better view. And thankfully, I had some sweet folks nearby who helped me get up. ❤️ These footprints were made by theropod dinosaurs—two-legged, meat-eating dinosaurs. 🦖 190 million years ago. How cool is it to stand there and look at something left behind by a creature that walked this same area so long ago? We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into on this drive… We rode from Moab to Potash and then headed onto Shafer Trail—and WOW, this was an adventure!The road climbs along the canyon walls with incredible views, and steep drop-offs. At times, I was definitely holding my breath! It took us a couple of hours, and navigation doesn’t always work out here, so download your maps before you go! You can usually follow the trail, but don’t count on having service. This was one of those drives where the journey was every bit as amazing as the destination. Want to walk where dinosaurs roamed 150 million years ago? We found Trail Through Time, about 20 miles from Grand Junction, and got to chat with a paleontologist and then hiked to see the partial remains of a 60-foot Camarasaurus embedded in rock! 🦴 It was HOT, so we kept our hike short—but this place is definitely worth a visit! 🥵🦕 #TrailThroughTime #GrandJunctionColorado #DinosaurTrail #ColoradoAdventures #WheelsandWarbles

What a welcome!After lunch, we explored the historic Stanley Hotel, best known for inspiring Stephen King’s The Shining and for serving as the filming location of the 1997 TV miniseries The Shining. It has also appeared in movies like Dumb and Dumber and the documentary Room 237.Inside, you’ll find grand staircases, elegant historic décor, vintage photos, cozy gathering spaces, and fascinating displays that tell the hotel’s story. I even wandered through the hedge maze while taking in the incredible mountain views all around the property.I didn’t stay the night… and maybe that’s for the best! Driving up to 14,000 feet… one wrong turn would be a very bad day. This is Pikes Peak in Colorado… one of the highest drivable mountains in North America.The road climbs over 14,000 feet with more than 150 turns… and the higher you go, the thinner the air gets.  What starts as a normal mountain drive slowly turns into something a little more intense and scary… tighter curves, steep drop-offs, but views that get bigger with every mile. By the time you reach the top, you’re literally driving above the clouds. The views are worth it… but the drive is something you don’t forget. Would you cross a bridge with 40 mph winds… and gusts hitting 53? I’m at the Royal Gorge Bridge—built back in 1929 and once the highest bridge in the world. It’s over 950 feet above the Arkansas River… and today, the wind is making it feel every bit of that. Every step feels like the bridge is moving with the wind. you can feel that push the entire way across. At 40 mph sustained winds, you’re constantly adjusting just to stay steady. Then a gust hits—53 mph—and it’s a reminder that nature is very much in control out here. What’s crazy is this bridge has been standing for nearly a century, surviving everything from time to massive Colorado weather—and even wildfires that swept through the gorge in 2003. One of the most iconic roadside attractions on Route 66! 🚗🎨 Cadillac Ranch, just outside Amarillo, features 10 vintage Cadillacs buried nose-first in the ground. Since 1974, visitors have been encouraged to leave their mark with spray paint, so the artwork is constantly changing. As you cruise down the park road, you are looking at rock walls that are over two hundred and fifty million years old. But if you look up at the right moment... you’ll spot the opening to the Big Cave. There is no official sign, but a short scramble up the loose red clay connects the road straight to the cavern.
